I definitely prefer this to some of the songs that finished above it BUT I'll take the perfect ranking.

I assumed I was going to have to make a post about there being a bias against something here once a certain song in my top five went out. I didn't think I'd have to be making that post about fucking "Need You Now", of all songs. If you need any more proof that Pulse has an anti-country bias, two #100s for the most agreed upon country song of the last decade or so should do it.
Wake me when "Bad Romance" wins.

After some extensive research on old threads, I was finally able to find Lukas' calculations for 101-125 for the Decade-End list, in case anyone's interested.
Man, "Mirrors", "High Hopes", "When I Was Your Man", and "Teenage Dream" really deserved to make the list. "DJ' should have made it over "OMG" and "Stressed Out" should have been there over "Heathens". Also, was "Good Feeling" really that massive at the time? It's definitely the most forgotten hit of this whole list. I'm surprised "Lights" had such a good performance as well - such a great song!

OTR and thank u next deserved top 10 but nah Blank Space has to be still in because reasons All three of those songs have no business being anywhere near as high as they are (even though “Old Town Road” managed to be in my top 30 for a year-end as weak as 2019’s).

Blinding Lights for Top 10!

fun. ft. Janelle Monae - We Are Young: 7/10, ranked #34
Pretty quality track if a bit below average by fun.'s standards. Janelle Monae should've had way more hits than her almost unnoticeable feature here though.
Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus - Old Town Road: 8/10, ranked #24
Perhaps the biggest factor behind me putting it this high is despite it being arguably the biggest music craze of the 2010s, I'm still not tired of it. I can still bop to it even after having it shoved in my face for 10 months, and that's a true sign of quality.
Travis Scott - SICKO MODE: 8/10, ranked #21
The sound of the song is the main reason it's here, with lyrics disregarded. While obviously not on the same level of quality, it really does feel like a trap answer to Bohemian Rhapsody.
Ariana Grande - thank u, next: 6/10, ranked #42
Pleasant and with interesting lyrics, but overall disappointing compared to no tears left to cry and breathin.
fun. - Some Nights: 9/10, ranked #15
A great-sounding song with some interesting ideas (the autotune vocal solo is brilliant), even if the lyrics don't make much sense.
Lady Antebellum - Need You Now: 10/10, ranked #12
An example of pretty much the best thing that can come out of radio filler.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Wanz - Thrift Shop: 10/10, ranked #3
I've always loved songs that can balance both humor and poignancy, and this one does it perfectly, mixing a joke song about shopping for used clothes with commentary on the overspending prevalent in hip-hop. The guest artist is the cherry on top, he sounds fantastic.
Hozier - Take Me To Church: 10/10, ranked #13
Fantastic song with a great message, using a backdrop of religion to protest against any organizations preventing people from expressing themselves. Hozier's soulful vocals add a lot, this could've been higher if it wasn't so ridiculously dour, only a nitpick though.
Kesha - TiK ToK: 6/10, ranked #51
And my bottom half is out! Though this doesn't really deserve to be considered bottom half, it's a fine enough song with a killer hook, even if the verses can be irritating.

Wow it wasn't that far off from the top 10 for the most part! The tanking at the end though Probably one of my favorite Drake songs ever. It's such a jam!

Once again, Macklemore is the highest rapper. :(
At least there’s no Kendrick against him

Possibly the most overrated Drake song. Like I can see why it gets its praise though (the sample and everything) but I never thought extremely high of the song - and this is a pretty competitive rankdown.

Drake - Nice For What: 10/10, ranked #4
Biggest bop in the entire rankdown, just saying. I adore this beat with all of my heart.

For some reason, I thought Need You Now had a solid shot at winning. Imagine thinking something so amazing is the worst song here.

Sunflower is the single most average song I've ever heard and its popularity will never cease to baffle me. I like plenty of Post songs, hell even with songs of his I don't like such as 'I Fall Apart', I can still see more appeal in them than Sunflower. It's just such a non-song. The Radical Douche explained it best in his worst list.

"Need You Now" and "TiK ToK" missing the top 20 is... a choice (the wrong one, to clarify). Tragic mess.

Really disappointed with Need You Now, TMTC, Tik Tok and Nice For What leaving before Top 20 ☹️ And I never would’ve guessed NYN as the highest SD in a rankdown such as this
Also really pissed off that Some Nights didn’t make Top 25. Same energy as it ending up #11 in the 2012 rankdown. 😢 But pleasantly surprised it made as far as it did (and higher than We Are Young)
All songs are in my Top 60 so I guess I’m good. My remaining bottom half songs should not make top 10 tho

Some Nights is just the perfect pop song in every way possible. Super underrated, imo. Seeing it become an unexpectedly huge follow-up hit in 2012 was probably why I rank that year extremely fondly.
In that sense, pretty impressed it made it this far - fun. as a band were never really widely acclaimed.

#30: We Are Young (#5): This is just an epic song. Tankers can screw off.
#29: Old Town Road (#41): Kinda surprised at this. I really like this but I still thought you guys found this overrated.
#28: Sicko Mode (#44): One of the very few hip hop songs I actually like. I thought it would win the rankdown though.
#27: Thank U, Next (#24): This is a nice and cute song.
#26: Some Nights (#6): See #30.
#25: Need You Now (#66): I don't really like country so that hurt this.
#24: Thrift Shop (#62): This is okay.
#23: Take Me To Church (#48): I overranked this song.
#22: Tik Tok (#67): This is just...there.
#21: Nice For What (#78): I really don't like this.

these reveals fucking suck
still got eight top 10s but after that my list really slims out, so it's really one of them wins (or my 14) or i will not be a happy chappy
and some of these results just plain suck, seriously Nice For What below Can't Hold Us?? god you people are boring
also a response to Leo's comment, none of these songs are top 20 songs of the decade lmao
