The Weeknd’s last few singles have underperformed, including “Call Out My Name” the lead off his last EP. Unless he comes with something really good, I see him underperforming. None of those singles were from a full length album though, so we can't know for sure

"Call Out My Name" was barely pushed as a single to be honest. They released its music video a week after the EP dropped and only sent it to rhythmic radio two weeks after it's release. I blame his team for promoting his singles horribly, just look at how every 'Starboy' single after "I Feel It Coming" performed and the lack of a music video for "Pray for Me". If they give him a proper push, he should do fine.

How is AIWFCIY rising? I heard that this week's numbers were lower than last week's on almost everything. Sorry I'm new here and definitely very clueless lol Nah its not really droppin significantly anywhere. Spotify, radio and YT will be up. And AIWFC seems to get a lot of UGC views and that seems like it shoots up every week UGC?

oh yay the one hit wonder argument again I may have skipped the last page and a half, ngl. Someone called mj a one hit wonder once, ‘he’s best known for billie jean and that’s it’, so i’m pretty sure the term is terribly loosely used

oh yay the one hit wonder argument again I may have skipped the last page and a half, ngl. Someone called mj a one hit wonder once, ‘he’s best known for billie jean and that’s it’, so i’m pretty sure the term is terribly loosely used There’s a good difference between a hit song and a signature song, and I think that’s what often confuses some with regard to the definition of a one-hit wonder. For me, it all comes down to the amount of songs an artist has on the Billboard Year-End charts (which indicates longevity as well as chart success). However, depending on the artist’s niche/audience, it can also extend to genre-specific year end charts. And that’s exclusive to America, of course, but similar principles should apply for other countries such as the UK.

Now that you speak on it, is there a list somewhere of artists with the most year-end entries? There’s no official list, as far as I am concerned, and a quick search online didn’t give me any results. Still, I would imagine the artists with most year-end entries must be well-established acts who tend to release a good amount of singles per album and/or who do lots of features. Madonna (who has 38 top 10 singles dating back from the 80s), Eminem, Rihanna (31 top 10 singles), Drake, and Nicki Minaj come to mind.

^Yeah. I haven't seen one. Although, Wikipedia does have all the Year-End Hot 100. Since I'm a Wikipedia editor, maybe I'll do it after the 2019 Year-End Hot 100 is released.

Don't know much about points but Lover is going up the top 30 on radio, it's in the top 5 for sales, and the combined streams for the remix and the regular version put it around #13 on Spotify. I think it'll probably get a boost next week, possibly into the top 20

I was listening to Someone You Loved awhile ago (because I'm a masochist who hates himself), and a lot attention has been given to the IIIIIIIIIII- part of the song that I feel the line following it has been ignored, even though it's just as atrocious.
Like "I tend to close my eyes when it hurts sometimes"??? The terrible singing and over enunciation is bad enough, but when it's for an line this mundane and nothing, it'd be laughable if it didn't hurt to hear.

this list is pretty comprehensive all the way to 2018 So, I guess I can add the 2019 Year-End ones once they are available and produce something to share right here! I find this sort of list pretty fascinating. Elvis Presley, for example, has the most solo YE entries with 38, but Drake has (pre 2019) been on 44 YE tracks. Also, I think that P. Diddy might have the most entries for someone who doesn't have a *single* solo entry at 19, all of them features, duets, etc.

I personally think that more lead singers should attempt to pre-emptively reduce internal band tensions by releasing songs that state their disinclination to pursue solo careers.

Who the f is Trevor Daniel? looks like another Tik Tok song From his booking agency website: touring.apa-agency.com/rosters/trevor-daniel/:Trevor Daniel began as a bedroom musician that now has since reached more than 20 million people. Based in Houston, the singer’s music is a gestalt of his influences. He is a fan of that 808’s Kanye-Drake-Cudi wave, Y2K Techno, and his city’s Chopped & Screwed trademark. With the voice, the melodic production, and heartfelt songwriting, Trevor thrives. The first act signed to Taz Taylor’s Internet Money Records broadcasts his life in sound and verse. The journey began in 2012. When he could not longer play football due to a high school credit transfer issue, Trevor turned his attention to music. “A lot of it was me joking around because I’d just learned to record myself. But eventually, I got very serious.” As he sharpened his daily pursuit of making music,Trevor diligently studied Internet Money’s online tutorials for producers. He also started uploading tracks. Before long, YouTube channel SyrebralVibes embraced Daniel’s sound and hosted his songs. People were tuning in. When he made late 2015’s “Fool,” it marked a pivotal breakthrough. “I felt like I was coming into something,” he recalls of a particular batch of new cuts. “I deleted everything else because of those songs. This was a whole new thing, and I didn’t want people to hear anything else.” The next year, Trevor won “Artist Of The Year” on the New Houston Musi c site. In early 2017, a hurricane devastated Houston. Out of the destruction, Trevor’s calling was affirmed. “My family was safe in Harvey, I stayed at my girlfriend’s house, and my family stayed with friends. We kayaked back to my apartment when the water began to go down to see the damage. I knew music was what I wanted to do over anything else because the only belongings I thought to save, before the water came in, were my equipment. I knew I wanted to make music. This was the breaking point.” In 2018, “Pretend” became Trevor’s first song to break a million. The last word in a messy breakup, the cut with a blasting vocal now has 8MM, along with over 600,000 organic Spotify plays. Other songs have landed on the official “Alternative R&B” and “Fresh Finds” playlists. Additionally, the Electro-tinged “Mirror” soared past the 12MM mark. Music allowed Trevor to quit his retail job and focus on creating. He often plays shows, home and away. The artist who reached 20 million enjoys building a base the old fashioned way, a hundred fans at a time. At the top of his journey, the Internet Money team’s tutorial videos helped Trevor learn how to make beats. Now, the group’s leader had become a fan of the singer/producer. “I’ve always been a fan of their content and everything. They were the last people on earth that I thought would hit me up,” Daniel says. Trevor traveled to Internet Money’s Hollywood mansion-studio compound to meet the hit-maker for Drake, Post Malone, and Future. Within two hours, they had made a song together. “They’re very direct. They’re down just to stay up all night and work. In my experience, it’s not usually like that. Most people just like posting stuff to Instagram about ‘we’re working,’” Trevor notes. He turned down other offers to keep his creative control and enhance his sound with like-minded musicians. The cinematic visual to new single “Falling” celebrates this partnership. With an EP and album on the way, Trevor Daniel takes a sound cultivated at his computer and uses all the tools now at his disposal to share it with eager fans. *** He doesn't have a wikipedia page, yet, but the above should be good for some lulz.
