Wish other artists could push the 80's vibe like in Blinding Lights. The song is very different to the rest of the songs on the current charts. I hope and pray Radio doesn't blank this one.

Currently crossing my fingers super hard for Ellie Goulding. I want βHate Meβ to reach 20 weeks but itβs looking iffy

Wow Hearless had 14m on demand streams in 2 days. The AM numbers mustβve been insane bc he did kind of eh on Spotify

Blinding Lights officially released! Gonna be honest, while I totally see why it's the fan favorite over Heartless...I kinda like Heartless more? At least for now, Idk, I feel the whole retro 80s thing is a bit predictable with Abel right now. Both of them are f**king awesome. It makes me sad though because double single releases rarely do well for one of the songs Didnβt Weeknd himself have two big hits at the same time a few years ago? Bieber had multiple hits at the same time. Rihanna too with βWhatβs My Nameβ and βOnly Girl.β

I'm pretty sure DI flopped because of it's complex title and dull production.

I think it will be option 2. Heartless & Blinding Lights will both have success at first, but Heartless will keep more radio support and stay in the upper level od the charts for awhile while Blinding Lights will have a HITR-type run and fall pretty fast, omly to stabilize due to streaming

Say Say Say being named Michael Jackson's biggest hit is the most random thing ever.

There is a pattern with The Weeknd when he has two big singles. One has a dark, bassy, and urban sound (The Hills, Starboy, Heartless) and the other one has an 80s style throwback sound (Can't Feel My Face, I Feel It Coming, Blinding Lights).

Off topic but Party Monster should've been way bigger than it was.

Off topic but Party Monster should've been way bigger than it was. PREACH, it and "In the Night" should have easily been top ten hits in my opinion. Abel screwed up both of those singles with "weird" music videos that didn't resonate with the public well (which sucked because both videos were great). I remember at one point the former was doing better than "IFIC" too. However the singles from him that he did wrong the most were "Secrets" and "Die for You", with the first only being released internationally and the second having its pop radio release cancelled.

Die For You is definitely the hit that got away in Weeknd's discography. It has served more longevity any other Starboy single aside from the title track and IFIC.

Finally get to post after weeks of stalking lmao.
Rooting for Blinding Lights to pull through with a #1, but Heartless seems to be overshadowing it.

The YouTube chart for this week is wild - if UGC increases linearly with chart numbers, Dance Monkey will be #7(!!!) since it increased 98% from last week.
I'm going to post two scenarios for my final predictions tonight since I have no idea what will happen.

Also, the new Epic Rap Battles of History appearing on the chart is kinda odd, I've never seen ERB on the YouTube chart. It would be funny if they charted on the Hot 100 or Bubbling Under, since they've only charted on Comedy Albums and Comedy Digital Track Sales

If we're talking about Weeknd singles that should've performed better, Secrets and Reminder should've at least been moderate hits, and 'Shameless' should've been pushed as a single off of BBTM instead of Acquainted

My picks are Can't Feel My Face, Starboy and Blinding Lights. Heartless is the only one I dislike here.

Early predictions I only have Dance Monkey around 17,700 points π€ Final predictions I'm pretty sure both of these will be hilariously off so Scenario 1 Real YT changes with only modest UGC changes I have Truth Hurts at 19,500 and Dance Monkey at 18,800 in this scenario Scenario 2
Linearly scaled UGC changes

Bop repeated as #1 in YouTube with a safe lead over OTR, which also surprising managed to rise.

That December 1983 chart is everything. The Fall of 1983 is when I first got into the Billboard charts.
