"Mama's Song" in my opinion gets WAY too much hate. Carrie's voice sounds very beautiful, and I love how simple the melody is. Just a very straightforward beautiful song, and the music video is greatly done with both Carrie Underwood's mom and her husband being in the music video.

Yeah, I really love the chorus of "Dirt Road Anthem" but the verse is kinda meh with the "rap"
I couldn't even remember how "Put You In A Song" went, and when I re-listened I remembered why. Overall, I'm so not a Keith Urban fan.
Carrie sang "Mama's Song" beautifully of course, but the melody and vocal arrangement sucks. I only ranked it as high as I did because of Carrie's vocals.

I appreciate the sentiment behind "Mama's Song" but the whole song just falls flat melodically and is uninteresting musically. I don't dislike the song though but it's still among my bottom 3 singles from Carrie Underwood ("Undo It" and "Mama's Song" for sure, not sure what would take that third slot but probably "Love Wins" for me).

"Mama's Song" is my least favorite of her singles for sure, but it still landed in my 70s just because of how weak this list was overall.

To be honest I'm glad this song got where it did. On a list of 125, for "Mama's Song" to make it to #64 is a great achievement! Especially considering how hated it is here. I don't see why either, Carrie's vocals are beautiful in this one and as you pointed out the music video gets an A+ for showing her mom and husband Mike.

“I Got Nothin’” is a classic Darius song. I think it was absolutely the wrong choice for the follow-up to “Come Back Song” “This”, though.

"I Got Nothin'" is great. It was a shame it became his first misstep at country radio. I love the double entendre of the hook. The production is great too and Darius gave a strong vocal.

“God Gave Me You” sucks, it’s not even Blake Shelton’s song although he likes to claim it is. It’s a cover of the Dave Barnes original. I don’t like the song period, but prefer Dave’s original if I had to pick.

"I Got Nothin" is a total nothing of a song. Which can be said for the bulk of his country material. It’s too bad the label didn’t let him record the album he actually wanted to when he first went country.

Carrie's music video for "Mama's Song" is beautiful. Carrie should not be leaving this early. The female who needs to be leaving is Ashton Shepherd. You take that back!!!

#59. Billy Currington - "Love Done Gone"
Total Points: 1,403 Average: 61.0 Year Released: April 18th, 2011 Mediabase Peak: #11 Billboard Peak: #11
Rankings:
Following:
"Love Done Gone" was released as the third single off Billy Currington's Enjoy Yourself album in April of 2011. It peaked at #11 in August/September. The song was written by Shawn Camp and Marv Green. This year wasn't particularly strong, so a song like "Love Done Gone" probably places 20-30 places lower in a year in the mid-2000's but here it's a top 20 placement. I really enjoy when songwriters take a sad subject and create an upbeat song around it. "Love Done Gone" is about as perfect as an example as you could get for that. The song is also catchy and breezy. It was a great summer song.

I knew "Love Done Gone" was going to be polarizing so at least it made the top half?
I generally like horns incorporated into songs so there's that going for it, but like mentioned the catchiness and breeziness of the song just makes this song undeniable for me. The liveliness of the song makes it seem like the whole tone of the song being more of "no regrets in anything we've done but this just isn't working; let's just move on and not dwell on this" - which I think works from the lyrical context of the song.

Still bonkers that Lauren Alaina has been in the country music industry for 8.5 years and is still having decent success. Great song as is all of her material (sans "Barefoot and Buckwild" which sucks) and happy it made the Top 60.

"Like My Mother Does" is absolutely incredible. I remember I was 11 when I first heard it. (Well I mean of course I was 11; i've already said in this thread that I was in fourth-fifth grade during 2011 lol)

I honestly think this is one of the best coronation song for the winner/potential coronation song for the runner-up to come out of American Idol (now granted this song wasn't written for American Idol originally). Most of the American Idol songs for me tend to either be super sappy (I still like "A Moment Like This" etc. but it's incredibly sappy) or flat-out boring, but I think "Like My Mother Does" avoided both and was a convincing debut song for Lauren Alaina. That also might have to do with the fact that this song wasn't written for Idol too.

I'm a bit disappointed to see "Threaten Me With Heaven" out already. I expected that song to be out sooner tbh so I am happy it lasted a lot longer than expected. This song came out just before my Grandmother passed away, the timing was a bit eerie. I don't regret putting it at #1 because that song means a lot to me.
