Interesting that this song only spent 9 weeks climbing... and I remember you saying "If I Were a Boy" had a short climb too - what was causing these Reba singles to stall after such a short time on the charts? Granted chart runs were shorter back then but climbing for 8-9 weeks and then being done seems... a bit too short? The chart runs were shorter back then but 8-10 weeks and making the top 40 is still a very short run, even back in 2011. You have to go back to the early-to-mid 2000's to fins chart runs that were as short. I remember Jeff Bates' "Rainbow Man" made it to #40 on Mediabase in 2003, then fell off a cliff -- only spent 5 weeks climbing lol. The charts were a different world back then compared to nowadays.

"Sparks Fly" is perfection and it is a damn shame radio no longer plays it despite it hitting #1. It is imo the diamond standard of modern pop-country

Easton Corbin more often than not for me I think is overrated, but "I Can't Love You Back" is just so heartbreaking, so great, and I am pissed it could not even sneak a Top 10 peak on country radio.

A Taylor song finishing at #12 And it's not even the highest Taylor Swift song! Admittedly "Sparks Fly" isn't among my top top favorites from Speak Now ("Enchanted", "Last Kiss", and "Back to December" would be my top 3) but it's still a really enjoyable song for me.

OMG I LOVE THIS TOP 10 (with the exception of "My Heart Can't Tell You No" which I still like but let's just say I ranked it FAR below the others remaining)
My remaining ranks: 1/2/4/5/6/10/12/14/17/65

Sparks Fly is her best country single! I love it and that chorus is just amazing.

I'm probably off with a few of these, but I have no doubt Sara is taking this--and tbh I wouldn't be shocked to see both of her songs in the Top 5.

#10. Brett Eldredge - "Raymond"
Total Points: 841 Average: 36.5 Year Released: September 27th, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #22 Billboard Peak: #23 Rankings: sabre14 - 1 gardyfan - 3 recordyear - 4 bigfan101 - 5 fireflies - 5 Kanenrá:ke - 8 kw9461 - 9 fearlessarrow - 12 George Strait Junkie - 17 .indulgecountry - 27 taylor - 31 Cody Wants Out... - 31 raylatch98 - 39 austin - 46 LBTrocks - 47 Troublemaker - 51 castleoblivion26 - 59 toomuchboy - 65 bboat11 - 68 someguy - 74 d3vin44 - 76 ClevelandRox - 79 tim - 84 Following: BB🌕dgarcia3377lady𝓐fanMylo13 💜"Raymond" was released as the debut single for Brett Eldredge in September of 2010. It peaked at #22 on Mediabase in April of 2011, although it held on to the chart until May. The song was written by Eldredge and Brad Crisler. It was included on his debut album, Bring You Back, but not until "Don't Ya" was a hit in 2013. The debut album was re-worked after Brett's first two singles failed to make the top 20.
Eldredge wrote the song after his grandmother suffered from Alzheimer's.
This is without a doubt Brett Eldredge's best song. Nothing else he has released to radio has come close to me. This song tells a story vividly, with great lyrics and a great melody. The thing that really puts the song over the top is the bridge, and reveals the Raymond the lady thinks the narrator is, has been dead for 40 years. My grandmother is pushing 90 and she has a hard time remembering things that should be easy. It's one of the most difficult things to watch. There have been songs about Alzheimer's before ("She Misses Him", "Ellsworth" -- great songs), but what sets "Raymond" apart is it puts the person (narrator) not suffering from the disease directly in the story and it almost sounds like it's speaking to you.
I can't believe the artist that delivers consistent, safe radio-fodder is the same artist that gave us "Raymond."

Only 6 points apart from "I Can't Love You Back"... I'm glad this one managed to sneak into the top 10 ahead of that one (I do love "I Can't Love You Back", one of my favorite Easton Corbin songs). I'll always have a soft spot for "Beat of the Music" which is the song that sold me but "Raymond" and "Signs" have to be my favorite Brett Eldredge songs at this point. Both have solid songwriting and strong melody.

#9. Brad Paisley with Carrie Underwood - "Remind Me"

“Remind Me” was basically Brad’s last all-around smash. He had a few hits afterwards but they pale in comparison.

I've always disliked "Remind Me" because I don't like the vocal arrangement, especially In the chorus, and I don't find the instrumentation to be overly strong or unique either. Carrie served up a great vocal and her and Brad were a good match, I just wish the song was better.

“Remind Me” was basically Brad’s last all-around smash. He had a few hits afterwards but they pale in comparison. This is definitely true, although "Beat This Summer" did have a pretty quick rise up the chart in 2013, but didn't get great recurrent play. 2011 was Brad's last superstar year.

Taylor's best showing in a year-end country rankdown (even beating "Highway Don't Care" which landed at #9 in 2013) "Back to December" was an instant favorite from me from Speak Now, I had cooled off on it for a while (during Red/ 1989) but I have a renewed appreciation for the song now. Taylor couldn't make top 3 on my list but the ones I have in my top 3 are one of my absolute favorites from the respective artists while "Back to December" might not even touch the top 10 for me in terms of Taylor Swift songs... Now get "My Heart Can't Tell You No" outta here!

Kind of hope "Heart Like Mine" goes out so the Final 6 is just 3 artists.

#7. Chris Young - "Voices"
Total Points: 770 Average: 33.4 Year Released: July 12th, 2010 (first release: May 12th, 2008) Mediabase Peak: #1 (#37) Billboard Peak: #1 (#37) Rankings:gardyfan - 5 tim - 5 George Strait Junkie - 8 Troublemaker - 8 kw9461 - 14 fearlessarrow - 17 ClevelandRox - 19 someguy - 20 bboat11 - 24 taylor - 24 Cody Wants Out... - 25 sabre14 - 26 Kanenrá:ke - 31 fireflies - 38 LBTrocks - 40 austin - 44 castleoblivion26 - 44 d3vin44 - 45 .indulgecountry - 51 raylatch98 - 51 recordyear - 54 bigfan101 - 85 toomuchboy - 92 Following: BB🌕dgarcia3377lady𝓐fanMylo13 💜"Voices" was re-released as the third single off Chris Young's The Man I Want to Be album in July of 2010. It reached #1 in February of 2011. It was first released as a single in May of 2008. It only reached #37 on both Mediabase and Billboard. Sony Nashville and Chris decided the song was too good to not try again and it went to #1 the second time around.
It's the only song in country music chart history to be released twice by the same artist and peak at the SAME position on both Mediabase and Billboard both times lol.
Great song and I remember being ecstatic that it was re-released -- because that almost never happens. It also reached the top 40 the first go-around, only two years prior, so it was a very rare occurrence to see a single like that releases again. This shows how little of the listening audience gets exposed to a song that only reaches the 40's or even the 30's.

I'm actually kind of surprised "Voices" managed to make it this far... I thought this song was liked a bit less than what I'm seeing here (enough to make the top 10 clearly). It was really interesting seeing him live last year and him mentioning that "Voices" had originally peaked at #37 when introducing the song (I think that's what the context was... my memory's a bit blurry now) - he clearly remembers! The Chris Young rankdown is open now for anyone who wants to rank "Voices" again!
