Here is a list of songs that I expect to be locked in the final few weeks. Note being locked means having 1850 points in my predictions.
Locked Next Week: Mood & One Of Them Girls
Locked In 2 Weeks: The Woo & Mood Swings
Locked In 3 Weeks: Rags2Riches
Locked In 4 Weeks (Last Week): Be Like That
Here is a list of songs that I expect to pass the cutoff in the final week. The cutoff is my projected #100 song, which is Walk Em Down.
Will Pass The Cutoff In 4 Weeks (Last Week):
1) Wishing Well 2) ily
3) More Than My Hometown
4) Lovin' On You
5) Lemonade Walk Em Down sounds like the title of a 2000s Ringtone Rap song (probably because there was one called Walk Em Out IIRC).

7 Summers probably saved More Than My Hometown's run for the 2020 year end list. Morgan Wallen's team is trying their hardest to push the latter to #1 on country radio as soon as possible so they can start promoting the former to capitalize off of its streaming success.

Cardigan is fighting for its life rn I hope it does the same thing Yummy and Stuck with U did so it can have a shot at sneaking in rather than pull something along the lines of THE SCOTTS and What a Man Gotta Do

I've started forming my year-end lists, I cannot wait for Sunday Best, RITMO, I Hope, Falling, Intentions, My Oh My, and hot girl bummer to be savaged upon come list week.
Also expecting the top spot for best hit song to be rotating between Blinding Lights, Don't Start Now, and everything i wanted.

Week 48 - 17-10-2020Oh right, I am still doing these things. Maybe I should get on that. So, I've once again done a recalculation of my numbers, most notably the ones earlier in the year where I was still trying to kind of find a formula that worked. The biggest impact I've noticed were on songs with lower peaks. Current Status (100 biggest songs so far, 178.000 points to be considered locked):Added this week:24Goldn ft. iann dior - Mood Drop-Outs this week:Florida Georgia Line - I Love My Country Songs Locked this week:Jason Aldean - Got What I Got DJ Khaled ft. Drake - POPSTAR Songs Crossing the Cut-off this week:24Goldn ft. iann dior - Mood Lee Brice - One Of Them Girls Pop Smoke ft. 50 Cent & Roddy Ricch - The Woo Pop Smoke ft. I seriously want both "Highest In The Room" and "If The World Was Ending" finishes within the Top 50 in the YE.

If I Don't Care doesn't makes the year-end, will this be the first year since 2012 that we won't have a song by Ed Sheeran on the chart?

Judging by the radio, I think it's possible Kings & Queens sneaks onto next year's list

Agreed, but given its chart position, as long as the song has some longevity it will definitely get her her second hit, and if she has radio and the song moves into the top 20, I don't think anyone would question its hit status.

On the topic of Kings & Queens, how high does everyone think it will reach on the hot 100? I think Top 20 at the most.

However, I feel the Christmas freeze might impede it from getting any further until January, where its radio momentum might have died down by then. We'll have to wait and see, regardless, but I don't think it will outpeak "Sweet But Psycho".

If Aba Max sticks around, Naked could actually become a hit. Torn is already a year old at this point so unless TikTok makes it a hit, I dont see it charting, and the only other song besides Naked I could see them pushing is Born to the Night

Guys, I have a question that is OFF TOPIC: do you know if Nicki Minaj was credited during the whole chart run of Girl On Fire by Alicia Keys, making the Inferno Version the dominant version on the Billboard charts?

This year reminds me of 1990. Has an abundance of number ones and many of them are forgettable. In fact the start of every decade seems to be like that. Who's still blasting "Imma Bee" & "Like A G6" (2010) "Thank God I Found You"& "Be With You"(2000) "Love Will Lead You Back" & "If Wishes Came True" (1990) etc. I think people are looking for a big cultural zeitgeist change at the start of the new decade so they buy whatever seems new or like what the future trends will be, leading to songs that become dated and forgotten in time. In terms of quality however 2020 blew 1990 out of the park seriously I've tried to listened to that year-end list and most of the songs are just barely meh and the songs I do like is slim pickings. Let me put it this way, Ice Ice Baby would be in the top 30 and it's still only in decent tier.

In the middle of making the script for best and worst hit songs and the latter I really struggle to find any songs that pissed me off except my top three. Now that's impressive.

I would say this year is in between 2014 and 2018 for how bad it is. It's been mostly a mediocre year but outside of my Top 4 worst, nothing really makes me angry, a lot of the songs are just boring. I'd say like 1/5 of these songs are worth returning back to, four that are going to be infamous anyone who has WAP on their worst is a virgin, and the rest is going to be forgotten in 4 months.
That said: it is easier to make a best hits list and not just because the choices are obvious. Honestly, the best hits are really, really good, a song isn't defacto making the list just because everything else is crap like in other years. Ex: even if cardigan makes the year-end, I'm not sure it would make my Top 10 just because it's off of folklore.

It was a tough year for me to do a worst list but I already know which song is gonna top my worst list, I disliked it since the summer.

It’s weird that the top 8 songs on the year end are pop/country hits but rap is clearly the most popular genre.
