"Falling" bound to end up at Top 25 range in the YE with only a #17 peak...That's pretty good for a song that became popular on TikTok
EDIT: "Falling" is just AWOLNATION's "Sail" without the many weeks at Hot 100. Longevity, sure it also has that.

Blinding Lights would need some kind of meltdown to not reach #1 on the year end at this point(which isn't going to happen). It's not even a close race anymore.

What would Mood by 24kGoldn and Iann Dior need to do to make the year end list?

^Since it would be charting 13 weeks in the the Hot 100 and tanooki cutoff is 175k, it would need to be average 14k per week to be safe. That corresponds to placing roughly at #25 in a non-album bomb chart week.

I just realized that we haven't had a song top the year-end chart from a female artist (lead or feature) since 2012.

In case anyone is interested, here’s where some songs that were popular at the beginning of the year would be projected to finish under the January-December chart window
Circles-#7 (878k)* Memories-#18 (613k) Someone You Loved-#24 (535k) Dance Monkey-#26 (502k) Everything I Wanted-#28 (489k) Roxanne-#29 (481k) 10,000 Hours-#31 (392k) Ballin-#36 (378k) Heartless-#42 (352k) Bop-#52 (320k) Lose You to Love Me-#60 (293k) No Guidance-#62 (285k) Good as Hell-#63 (277k) Woah-#73 (237k) Highest in the Room-#87 (200k) Señorita-#88 (195k) Bad Guy-#94 (181k) Trampoline-N/A (166k) One Man Band-N/A (153k) Truth Hurts-N/A (145k) Only Human-N/A (132k) Bandit-N/A (128k) Hot-N/A (121k) Even Though I’m Leaving-N/A (112k) Panini-N/A (108k)
Spots are based on the 2019 chart projections. Points were calculated using Tanooki’s projections, with points from 11/23/19-12/28/19 subtracted
*not finished charting, will keep rising as long as it’s still going

It's not even a close race anymore. yeah i've definitely come to the conclusion that Blinding Lights will be #1 YE since my last post on the matter, especially since it looks like The Box is gonna drop out soon. However I still don't know what the order of The Box and Circles will be

Fun (depressing) fact about the 2020 chart year is that there's no peak position where every song to peak there is going to make the year end list. For example every song in the 2019 chart year that peaked at #6 made a year end list (in that case only Going Bad & Mo Bamba), as well as every #1 hit in 2019 making either 2019 or 2020. In 2020 though literally every peak position has a song that's going to miss the year end list.
{Spoiler} 1 - Trollz 2 - Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree (i guess this has the tiniest of outside shots) 3 - Jingle Bell Rock 4 - A Holly Jolly Christmas 5 - Futsal Shuffle 2020 6 - Baby Pluto 7 - It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year 8 - Lo Mein 9 - Silly Watch 10 - Hate The Other Side 11 - Last Christmas 12 - Feliz Navidad 13 - Myron 14 - Chicago Freestyle 15 - Let It Snow 16 - The Christmas Song 17 - Turks 18 - Heatin' Up 19 - D4L 20 - After Hours
everything below 20 is pretty easily covered by a Christmas song or an album track from one of the many album bombs this year

Rare is the song like Hello or WAP that can clinch a YE spot on 3 weeks worth of data alone.

How though? It's not Billboard's fault those songs were popular for almost a year I think he's referring to "Falling" became successful because of TikTok no, songs that get big on TikTok should be charting high, its the hottest app rn. Falling got viral on TikTok at the beginning of the year then got carried on radio.

What position would it have been if it had all of its 10 weeks at #1 on the 2015 chart run

Hello crossed 60k points 8 times, and 100k points 3 times (first 3 weeks). Not to mention it almost reached 200k points in its 1st week.

I just didn’t list them. They both just popped up at the end of December, and so they won’t be losing nearly as many points as the songs I mentioned.
