AIFCIY in like 20 years will beat it tho I have a hard time believing the Hot 100 will be around in 10 years, let alone 20. Why?

To bring up the Baseball analogy, Radioactive's 87 week chart run is like a bunch of records from the Dead Ball Era that are unbreakable because of how much the game has changed. I don't see Circles being on the chart in May of 2021 (although I wouldn't be surprised if it makes it into January of 2021). If anyone's curious the record of weeks if the 52 week rule had been there the whole time would look like Radioactive - 69 Sail - 60
Shape Of You - 59 Perfect - 57
You Were Meant For Me/Foolish Games - 57 Macarena - 57
Rolling In The Deep - 55 Someone You Loved - 54 Sunflower - 53 Uptown Funk! - 53 All Of Me - 53
Counting Stars - 53
This is interesting! Out of the top 5 record holders, I'm Yours, How Do I Live, and Party Rock Anthem wouldn't have survived a 53rd week.

I feel like Circles will start falling once he releases new music (which is supposed to happen soon apparently) Circles can still end up like sunflower. He released a whole bunch of other songs and it still sticked around to a whole year. Sunflower could’ve easily ended up like goodbyes or psycho but it didn’t Sunflower did benefit from a few boosts here and there though (Spiderverse coming to Netflix, being added to Hollywood's Bleeding). Maybe Circles will be added to a movie soundtrack and last longer lol

I just realized something amazing Andy Williams actually has a chance to make the year end hot 100 artists chart his two songs together have about 163000 on Tanooki's point system. Likely below the #100 cutoff but a lot of times the bottom 10 or so will have people with less points than song #100

It’s boring anyway so that’s why it’s gonna be forgotten Ironic, given the song's title. True! ahah

^Yeah. He has managed to do so in large part due to the longevity of his songs in the Hot 100.

Whereas with Post he's basically lasted 3 1/2 years solely off of about 6-7 songs (Congratuations -> Rockstar -> Psycho -> Better Now -> Sunflower -> Wow -> Circles). And if you take away overlap then it's really only 5 (Congratulations - Rockstar - Psycho - Sunflower - Circles).

I have a hard time believing the Hot 100 will be around in 10 years, let alone 20. it’s been around for so long though that I can’t imagine how Billboard would go about getting rid of it I don't think Billboard would ever get rid of it. I just can't see it publishing in ten years. The music business doesn't need a promotional magazine really. Radio barely touches new hits. Sales are nearly non-existent. Streams don't need Billboard.
Their whole business model is disappearing.

Good news is Someone You Loved should miss the top 10. It would've comfortably missed last year's top 10 and will be passed probably by Say So, Adore You, (sadly) Memories, Life Is Good, The Bones, and at least 1 of Savage or Rockstar and that'd push it out of the top 10!
I really hope Out West doesn't go Close Friends on us
