So if ALWFCIY is #1 dec-jan, then she would be the first artist to have #1's in four decades 90s to 20s Oh I thought "I Want You Back" was in 1969, my bad. *Though if we use the calendar definition of a decade instead of the pop culture definition, he did it as 1961-1970 is a calendar decade. Though this would also mean Mariah wouldn't do it as 2020 is part of the 2011-2020 calendar decade. Then Mariah did it in the 1981-1990 decade. It works either way. |

Taylor Swift releasing a Christmas song with a video tonight, AIWFCIY has competition. When is the last time a brand new holiday song did all that well on the charts? It might have decent sales this first week, but it wonβt have huge airplay and its streams likely wonβt be too great (especially in 2 weeks). if a post- Witness Katy Perry could get "Cozy Little Christmas" an Amazon exclusive with no music video to #1 on AC and #53 on the Hot 100 (higher than Bon Appetit lol) I feel like Taylor's might also have some staying power this season at least, I'm guessing somewhere in the #32-43 range for its peak. (and this is obviously before hearing the song. would have guessed #1 for ME! before I heard it, for reference) |

He originally had like 7 of those Collector's singles up for 48(?) hours near the beginning of the tracking week. Then put them back on sale with an additional 7 more editions + autographs on Thursday (yesterday). So I believe his label knows the #1 was in arms reach to put the Collector's singles back on sale + add more on the last day. |

I don't blame The Weeknd's label grasping all straws, this is most likely Heartless' only shot to go #1 if it goes the HITR route (quick drop and then stabilises in top 20). Of course they messed it up already with the release date but...

A couple of months ago, I would have called all the lengths him and his label are going to to secure at #1 pathetic, but so many artists now do what he's doing that I don't think I can say that anymore. Unless they're DJ Khaled, I doubt many artists are looking to really secure a number-one on Billboard nowadays. The merch bundles are just to get more money people, and the charts are a reflection of which songs were the most bought/streamed songs that week, the number-one single label is just a byproduct.

Similar to how "watch" and "hostage" got videos but aren't radio singles. "everything i wanted" is still the single they're promoting to radio. |

Even if Heartless doesn't get a #1 this week, the weeknd could still get to #1 eith Blinding Lights if he stsrts pushing radio more. He should honestly just forget Heartless, it will probably have a HIGHEST IN THE ROOM like run, but Blinding Lights has potential ro get #1 at some point This right here, although there's a possibility of it missing the number one spot this week (which like I said would be an 'L'), this guy had "Starboy" reach number one when it seemed like it was never going to reach it. Don't rule out "Heartless" yet folks. Donβt forget our current #1, circles. We all thought it was gonna hit the top when it first released but it kept on moving around the top 10 until eventually it hit #1 |

Why are these older songs rising on Spotify? Spotify Wrapped was released yesterday, which gives users their own playlists of their top songs throughout the year. I'm sure a lot of the rise in streams for older songs has to do with people listening to those playlists. |
