Don’t know if this has been mentioned but she’s the first Canadian artist to reach #1 since Emerson Drive in 2007 with their hit “Moments”. Lindsay Ell hit #1 in 2019 with "What Happens In A Small Town" with Brantley Gilbert.

Lindsay Ell hit #1 in 2019 with "What Happens In A Small Town" with Brantley Gilbert. I guess the stat must refer to Canadian-only acts, cause this “First Canadian Artist Since 2007” stat is being widely publicized. Lindsay is of course Canadian, but Brantley is not, and it was his song, so she must not be getting counted in this scenario. Terri Clark also shared a nice congratulatory post to Tenille congratulating her for being the first female Canadian artist to go #1 since she did it with “Girls Lie Too” in 2004! What a cool passing of the torch moment! Edit: Also how ridiculous is it that it’s taken this long, regardless of whether the stat is focused on female Canadians or just Canadians in general... That drought is even worse than the female artist drought... (Hopefully Tenille’s success will continue, signaling improvement in both droughts! Lol)

Hopefully this success continues. I'm hopeful that Tenille can have that same style success that Kelsea has been able to have on a small label.
