This song is being released to Alternative. I'm not sure where "Stacy's Mom" peaked on Alternative, but I think this one can do something because it's really catchy!

Stacy's Mom peaked in the mid-20s.

I love this song. I think it has a better chance on Hot AC though.

Fountains of Wayne are likely doomed to be a one-hit wonder, but like The Ataris singles other han "Boys Of Summer", "Mexican Wine" should get limited airplay here.
A brief Top 30 appearance is likely, likely a peak around #28
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

They released that single back in 1997 (Peaking at #14 on billboard modern traks). And I really like it right now... so I think they can go on making greater hits.

Thank you so much Miguel, for realizing that they've been around for that long. People also forget about "Denise", which peaked in the 30s. Not only that, but "Sink To The Bottom", from the first album.

Little bit of trivia - Matchbox Twenty's first album and FOW's first album were released the same day back in 1996 and on the same label. One band had a single (2nd release) that caught on big time at radio (Push) and one did not. I'd say they probably received the same amount of support initially from Atlantic Records. I'd say there's probably only about 19 million in album sales separating the two bands now, 7 1/2 years later.
I liked Stacey's Mom. It was a really catchy song. However, may I suggest that one of the major factors separating MB20 from FOW is the live show. I just recently saw FOW open two shows for MB20. The stage presence of FOW is nearly a non-factor. They made absolutely no connection with the audience at least in an arena setting. They may be fabulous in a small club in front of their own fans but they certainly can't pull it off on the big stage. Sure, they have really catchy songs but it takes more than good songs to pull off a good live show.
