I’m going to be very sad if “Adore You” misses the top 10 due to Christmas songs. Hopefully it can pull through.
All will be forgiven, however, if “Last Christmas” can finally hit the top 10 this Christmas season.

I mean, that's kind of a lot considering Tik Tok is still new. It didn't really blow up until 2018 and it's already launched two record breaking length #1s: "Truth Hurts" and "Old Town Road." Not to mention there have been other songs to see boosts thanks to Tik Tok memes like "bad guy," "You Need to Calm Down," "All I Want for Christmas Is You," etc. Tik Tok is still growing too, and at a rapid rate. It's only a matter of time before Tik Tok gives us its own Shawn Mendes. Why Shawn Mendes? Isn't Bieber the poster child for Youtuber to superstar? I thought we were comparing directly to Vine. Shawn is from Vine. |

Did Glee ever make any songs huge? Usually songs would get small iTunes boosts when they were used on the show, but that's it. I don't think there was ever a non-hit that became a hit because of Glee. As for Vine and Tik Tok, they are very popular with a specific demographic, but completely pass everybody else by (unless you live with someone from said demographic in which case you will probably hear about it all the time, despite never actually using it or really knowing what it is). The same as something like Fortnite, for example. Tik Tok seems to be mostly used by literal children (well, teenagers), and I think those who are 18+ don't use it anywhere near as much. Maybe Vine seemed bigger at the time because we were all younger so we were closer to its main demographic. Pretty sure "We Are Young" hit #1 after being used on Glee - wasn't the Glee version a top 20 hit before the original blew up? I wasn't following the charts back then, so I could be wrong (cba to check now). You are sorta right. After the Glee version became popular, the original was used in a Chevy commercial that aired during the 2012 Super Bowl. And it BLEW UP! A lot of people, myself included, were pissed that this song from a car commercial got more attention than Madonna's Gimme All Your Love, since she was the SB Halftime Act. But looking back, the superior song got the most recognition. |

That's the odd thing though. It feels though that TikTok hasn't made a huge of a splash as vine or Glee did in making songs huge. Taking a look at the year-end for 2019, it seems like the only TikTok songs to become hits were My Type, Envy Me, The Git Up, Thotiana, Truth Hurts and Old Town Road. A lot more of them seem to only crack the bubbling under charts and when they do hit the Hot 100, they don't make a big splash. Did Glee ever make any songs huge? My guess is that Futsal Shuffle will hit #1, but it won’t be for a few weeks due to the sheer amount of Christmas songs that’ll be on the charts. Keep in mind it doesn’t have a video yet it’s not like this week is the only chance it has

it seems like mariah's vinyl single are counted this week's tracking, while cassette and CD will be counted next week.
I think they did it on purpose for spread out the sales.

One song doing exceptionally well on Spotify doesn’t equate to him “owning” it. Besides, XO is still in the Top 200 majority of the time on AM too sooo.
Regardless, gonna be interesting to see where FS lands, I’m guessing Top 5, but still far too early to tell

Planning way ahead, but do we think Lose You To Love Me could return to #1 around the January 10th week chart? It should get a streaming and sales boost due Selena's album releasing and will likely be #1 on Pop Radio.
