This was the only song I thought that was bad. I dislike some in my bottom 10, but this was one I just found no redeeming qualities in.

I'm in the top half of rankings, and I ranked this at #31.
I genuinely don't dislike Journey (hell, they're in one of the main...Journey RDs), but this isn't one of my favorites.

Soul Asylum didn’t keep up the pace for long as they go out here at #38.
For me, Soul Asylum has some really really good songs in their discography and some others that are just there with nothing special about them. This one classifies for me as a “just there” track as you all seemed to agree, but it was the most listened to according to last.fm that wasn’t a single.
janinho , that’s two perfect rankings in a row for ya!

This is actually out earlier than I was expecting, but cool. Outside of "Somebody to Shove" and maybe "Runaway Train", I just don't have a lot of use for Soul Asylum.

Papa Roach is actually who I was certain would finish at #40, but @lordeftones actually pushed it up to #37.
I’m still a big fan of the band’s early material and especially their first album, “Infest” as it had so much damn energy. I was in 10th grade when “Last Resort” came out and no matter what kind of music you liked, it was everywhere and everyone in my school was listening to it. Jacoby Shaddix brings so much damn energy to their live shows. They’re still one of the best bands I’ve ever seen in person.
Years later, I realize that most of their material isn’t very good. Especially since the awful album “Metamorphosis” came out in 2009, but that nostalgia factor in their first four albums play a big role for me personally in terms of being an overall fan.

I grew off of Infest surprisingly quickly, I want to say 2002 or 2003? I will always have nostalgia for some of the songs on the album (particularly "Dead Cell")...but not this one.

Can’t say I’m surprised to see Seether out in the Bottom 10. Post-Grunge/Alt Metal typically isn’t favorable here on Pulse. My taste in that genre has gone wayyy downhill over the last decade or so as so much of it sounds watered down and repetitive over the years.
However, Seether has always stood out to me to be better than the rest with their energy and being a big fan of Shaun Morgan’s catchy vocals. This is probably my favorite song of theirs.

Like Seether, I didn’t expect TRUSTcompany to escape the Bottom 10 overall either for the same reasons. It was apparent when we ranked them on the Active rankdowns how much higher my rankings were than everyone else lol.
Also, the same reasons as Seether is why I’m a huge fan of the band. I love Kevin Palmer’s vocals and the energy brought in many of their songs to me kick freaking ass. Anyway, they lose the battle of #33 overall and get knocked down a spot.

Hoobastank wanted to last just one more spot, but we all let them fall at #33.
Like plenty of other artists that hit their plateau early on in their career during the early 00’s, they just fell off the radar.
I loved their debut album and while I was never a big fan of “The Reason” (the song), I liked that second album a good amount. However, my interest fell after that. I barely remember any songs from their later ones to be honest.

Most of us are bad fishies for ranking this song low enough to finish in the Bottom 10 at #32.
Sublime’s breakout self-titled album is still a gem in my book, but I never go back to any of their other material except for the singles really.
I do wonder how their popularity might be very different had Brad not died. Many other smaller artists have emerged over the years due to their success.

New Found Glory thought they were dressed to kill on this rankdown, but they just miss out on getting out of the Bottom 10 at #31.
So… it's a really long story time! Most of you on the rock forum know that I grew up and still currently live in Coral Springs, Florida, which happens to be where New Found Glory is from. This band holds a really special place in my heart seeing them grow from a small local band to basically the predecessors of the pop-punk scene worldwide in the early 00’s. Without them, you likely wouldn’t have thousands of other pop-punk bands over the last 20+ years.
I remember I was a little AI sipping on a juice box as a freshman in high school in the fall of 1998. Blink-182 had just released “Dude Ranch” a year before and pop-punk was slowly gaining traction in the mainstream from bands such as them, MxPx, and more. I was talking to a guy in one of my classes about how I’ve recently become really attracted to pop-punk music and the silly and carefree culture that I witnessed from their music videos and such.
The next day, he gives me a flyer to a show that coming weekend here in Coral Springs featuring a few local bands and the headliner is this band “A New Found Glory.” He says I absolutely have to come because these guys are going to be huge and some of them were former students of our school, but had graduated. I had only been to maybe two concerts in my life to that point, so I was unsure. He comes in the next day and gives me a copy of A New Found Glory’s self-titled album and “Nothing Gold Can Stay.” I go home and am absolutely blown the hell away by both albums.
I end up going to the concert that weekend and fall in love with the band. They were the nicest guys and made to stick around after the show to talk to fans and sign stuff. I continued to go to many of their local shows over the next few years as they became big very very fast. I remember screaming for joy when I heard “Hit or Miss” on the radio for the first time. The pop-punk scene in South Florida became HUGE. I mean even if you weren’t into rock back then, every goddamn kid locally started getting into it.
NFG began touring with big bands such as Blink-182 and “Hit or Miss” peaked at #15 on Alternative radio nationwide. That really put them on the map after the “Sticks and Stones” was released in 2002 and you had singles such as “My Friends Over You” and “Head on Collision” also have success on radio. The pop-punk scene really started growing in the mainstream with other bands like Sum 41, Yellowcard, and more. It was a glorious time to be a high school/college kid around that time and see the growth of pop-punk all around you locally here and around the world
Obviously, pop-punk fell off the map in the mainstream in the late-00’s as every trend dies eventually. My interest in the genre isn’t as big as it once was as I’m not into many of the newer “sad boy” pop-punk bands that tried to make a resurgence in the mid-late 2010s. However, NFG is still going strong with a new album out later this year. I can’t say that I’m any less of a fan of theirs either than I was twenty-two years ago either after seeing them live probably over 50 times. It never gets old.
They still have a massive following here locally as their shows continue to sell out super quickly. They also continue to be close to the South Florida Community as they held a tribute concert to benefit victims of the Parkland shooting two years ago featuring Chris Carrabba from Dashboard Confessional and William Ryan Key from Yellowcard. Myself and some of the members of NFG went to high school at Stoneman Douglas, so attending that show was just so touching personally as this area has gone through a lot with the tragedy since then.
Sorry for the long essay here, but if you did read this whole thing, thank you ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
