This was going to be in the rankdown I currently have open, and I probably would've ranked it top 10 there, so

#3 Deftones - Passenger
Chosen By: rainie Genre: Alternative Metal Year: 2000
Points: 613 SD: 12.97365752 (7TH HIGHEST)
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: Two of Pulse's favorite White Pony songs are two songs that have always been more in the middle on the album for me, and one of those songs is "Passenger". Having said that, it's freaking White Pony, and it's freaking Chino Moreno and Maynard James Keenan on the same song. It's impossible for me not to enjoy it. shazam: wow i should've put this one in a rankdown

#2 Radiohead - How to Disappear Completely
Chosen By: @chroniclea Genre: Art Rock Year: 2000
Points: 646 SD: 9.758187446 (10TH LOWEST)
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: The sheer hopelessness and emptiness that surrounds this song is so incredibly haunting. *yawn* Just another superb Kid A song. shazam: hollow, empty, and desolate. it took a couple listens years ago for me to get this one, but when i got it, i got it
#1 The Cure - Disintegration
Chosen By: @humanshazam Genre: Post-Punk Year: 1989
Points: 713 SD: 5.127041028 (LOWEST)
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: Eight and a half minutes of pure post-punk bliss. This and "Lullaby" are, at least in my opinion, The Cure's peak. shazam: one of the closest times anyone's ever come to perfection in music, i could go on about this song all day but the lush instrumentation combined with the depressingly poetic lyrics and the steady build until Robert Smith wails with pain makes this one of the greatest things i've heard, period. could you tell i picked this one?

Okay, for the final two parts of this first Madness series, we're going to do something a little different. Instead of the two week deadlines that I have been setting, I'm going to make the deadlines for the 1 seed RD and the final three weeks. So this means that the deadline for seed 1 is Tuesday, March 24th. Two week deadlines may be asking a bit much, so I hope this is a fair conclusion to reach on my part.
Alright, let's get down to business.
SEED 1 Answers - It's Just a Fear AWOLNATION - The Best Beach House - Wild Boston - More Than A Feeling Boy Harsher - LA Charly García - Nos Siguen Pegando Abajo Clan Of Xymox - Obsession COIN - Fingers Crossed Cold Cave - Promised Land Cold Chisel - Cheap Wine Daddy Cool - Eagle Rock Drab Majesty - Dot in the Sky Drop Nineteens - Delaware Echo and the Bunnymen - The Killing Moon Extrabreit - Hurra, Hurra, die Schule brennt Falco - Der Kommisar Grimes - Oblivion Kent - 747 (We Ran Out of Time) Kitten - G# Los Prisioneros - Estrechez De Corazón Lush - Nothing Natural M83 - Wait Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' With Disaster My Bloody Valentine - Only Shallow My Bloody Valentine - To Here Knows When My Bloody Valentine - When You Sleep Narrow Head - Nodding Off New Found Glory - Better Off Dead Nothing - A.C.D. (Abcessive Compulsive Disorder) SafetySuit - Never Stop Saint Motel - Van Horn Shakespeares - Burning My Fingers Shudder to Think - X-French Tee Shirt Sum 41 - Open Your Eyes The Allman Brothers Band - Midnight Rider The Beatles - I Want You (She's So Heavy) The Beta Band - Round The Bend The Cure - A Forest The Flaming Lips - Are You A Hypnotist?? The Flaming Lips - Ego Tripping At The Gates of Hell The Sheila Divine - Hum TR/ST - Sulk Yazoo - Situation Yo La Tengo - Let's Save Tony Orlando's House{MISSING SONGS IN SPOTIFY PLAYLIST}

#10. Iggy Pop - Lust for LifeCatchy enough to make my top 30, but not much of an Iggy vocal lover. #9. White Lies - DeathI completely forget that this band had life before "Tokyo". This one barely missed my top 10. This is exactly what I like my modern rock to sound like. #8. Alvvays - Adult DiversionOnce in a great moon I will under rank female vocals. This song was alright, but didn't wow me with any thing particularly melodic or poppy which is why I like female vocals to go with. #7. The Smiths - Heaven Knows I'm Miserable NowThis band should have stayed together and kept producing songs like this for the 2000's and beyond. #6. Queens of the Stone Age - A Song for the DeafI enjoy this band as much as the next person but I didn't enjoy this particular song of theirs. Really weird melody that I just couldn't follow through. #5. Bloc Party - Little ThoughtsWhen I put a song higher than the original submitter. I 'm not even sure I ever heard this before, but damn does it bop. #4. Siouxsie and the Banshees - SpellboundWay before "Jeepers Creepers" I remember this band being played on KROQ. #3. Deftones - PassengerDon't know what to do with this kind of music vibe. It's such a downer compared to other songs on the list. #2. Radiohead - How to Disappear CompletelyTank my Cars classic huh? But truthfully. You guys hit the nail. "The sheer hopelessness and emptiness that surrounds this song" and this one too. "hollow, empty, and desolate." How do I go from "Party Rock" to that ,and back? #1. The Cure - Disintegration The Cure is an incredible band. There are about 20 songs I prefer from their discography and yet this one is still good. LOL! at the fact that I'm still somehow one of it's lowest rankers.

Seed #1 looks Tasty. Great songs great bands
Three songs by My Bloody Valentine. This can either turn out to be fiercely awesome ,or get tanked right at the starting gate.

Perhaps starting out with a three week deadline was the right move, because multiple people have submitted in the first week. Great to see, and I hope it continues!
Also, yes, I know, I haven't completed my ranking yet. I've been sick, I'll get it done within the next couple of days.
(As always, please keep in mind that, even if you have already submitted, you're still being tagged, in case you want to make any edits to your ranking before the deadline.)

Hey guys, it's the other host for once. It'd be really awesome if this seed could get the most submissions we've gotten yet. We sadly haven't matched the number of initial submitters yet, but I encourage all you to tackle this seed. This is definitely my favorite one out of the four, and I'm sure there are plenty of great discoveries out there for you to make. Just sayin', it kinda takes the fun out of it if you send songs but don't bother to send any lists. This is supposed to be a fun game for everyone, so let's keep it that way!

I fell asleep, woke up an hour later, and realized that I hadn't made the tag post for today. I'm glad I remembered at all. IF you need an extra day, please make sure to let me and shazam know as soon as possible.

I think that we have received submissions from everyone we were ever going to receive submissions from, so we are closed a few minutes early.
And yes, there will be reveals tonight.

#44 New Found Glory - Better Off Dead
Chosen By: American Idiot Genre: Pop Punk Year: 2000
Points: 199 SD: 11.75848225
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: In a rankdown full of good songs, this was the only one that felt out of place, quality-wise. Sorry, AI. shazam: i don't really dislike NFG, they're generally solid pop punk. this list was just... crazy good
