How is that any different? If a thread consisting of one discussion is boring and lifeless, then that means the discussion is boring and lifeless. A thread is literally only whatever conversation is contains. One cannot exist without the other. That is how a forum functions. No amount of your rude snark and sassy emoticons is going to change that fact and make what you just said make any sense. It's also very incorrect. There are tons of conversations that can be had that are relevant to the chart. Y'all just happen to enjoy talking about literally everything else that have their own designated spots for discussion on this site. It's... bizarre, actually. I mean, last week y'all were trying to discuss the impeachment when that is about as far removed from the Hot 100 as you could possibly get. And holy hell if y'all think discussing the history of the N-word and bickering about which irrelevant artist has fallen off or not is what constitutes an exciting and lively conversation, then we should just shut these threads down now. If you bothered reading what he said, he said it's okay to talk about ANYTHING as long as it is regarding the Hot 100, which the N word is not a part of. So yes, I agree those types of discussions shouldn't happen here, but you're doing broad strokes and saying anything that doesn't pertain to this particular chart week should be disallowed, regardless of if they pertain to the Hot 100 or not. But if I'm being real, the constant whining about how much people hate these threads has been even worse than the off topic posts. The issue here is not as clear-cut as just allowing everything Hot 100 related to be here. I agree that not everything has to be strictly about the current chart week, but they should still be connected in some way. Previous chart throwbacks, for example, are fine since it is connected with the chart date, while something like discussing the songs with the most weeks at #1 would only be allowed (and should only occur) in chart weeks where a song is getting close to, has met, or has broken the record (aka when Old Town Road was having its last few weeks the discussion happening in the Hot 100 threads was fine, but talking about it here, not so much). Having any Hot 100 talk here would defeat the purpose of both the current thread title and the Billboard Hot 100 General Discussion thread. Would you say that the recent discussion in that thread about the strongest/weakest #1's in the Soundscan era would belong here? Definitely not, unless the #1 contender this week would be one of the weakest/strongest #1's, in which case it is neither. Anyways, these are my thoughts on this issue and I'm going to stop here before I drag this thread from becoming more off topic. |

Looks like Futsal Shuffle is not a big comeback single as some hoped to be. Well, that's just a second week drop. Many songs drop heavily on the second week but come back up and eventually outpeak its debut. It's still possible for it to be a massive hit. |

Anyways, Christmas songs still get a decent number of "leftover" streams on December 26. The 27th is when they all completely fall off a cliff. |
