One of the all Xmas music stations in my market stopped playing Xmas today. The other one is still holding on!

Week's end is today. There will be some leftover streams for holiday songs today, though nothing like what was seen in the last three days.
An AC station in the area was still playing holiday music today.

Could Memories get an extra boost because of NY? It occurred to me when I randomly heard it the other day that it has an 'Auld Lang Syne' vibe to it. Plus it references December, drinks and will get the boost from AC flipping. Is it possible it might sneak close enough to challenge during the next 2 chart weeks?

15 hours into the 26th and Mariah is still top 5 on Apple Music. Hell BublΓ© is still top 20 there too. So much for that "zero streaming" y'all keep insisting is happening for Christmas music today. Let the Grinches seethe. ^Yeah. I don't get why 'Christmas' is so popular worldwide in streaming. There are what, two billion or so Christians worldwide?Β That should be enough of a reason. He means Michael BublΓ©'s cover of "It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas," not Christmas songs in general.

A lot of interesting things to happen in the next 2 weeks on the charts 1. Crazy new peaks for Christmas songs this week 2. Some surprise songs that go recurrent this week 3. The following week having new peaks for most of the hot 100 like the box, dance monkey, Roxanne etc. Looking forward to the madness :) Maybe theyβll hold their positions but considering thereβs going to be 0 streaming or sales from now until weeks end I donβt see an entirely Christmas top 10 like you might be imagining Not sure if you noticed but the week ends... tonight. Besides, people donβt immediately stop streaming as soon as it turns midnight on Dec 26.

There will be some leftover streams for holiday songs today, though nothing like what was seen in the last three days. An AC station in the area was still playing holiday music today. My local AC station said they will continue to play holiday music until New Year's (though probably at a much lower and diminishing frequency). I've noticed this has been happening the last couple years - demand for Christmas music just seems to be getting higher and higher! Interesting point, and it might get streamed and sell a bit more. The AC flipping would also help, and normally newer songs like this (in terms of not peaking yet at radio) would see a disadvantage from year-end countdowns, however because it has a New Year's vibe it might be able to overcome this by radio stations playing it more because it ties in perfectly with the time period.

Does Bieber have new music out or what? What happened with that?
Is Drake's song doing anything?

I realize that this is one of those fallacies where responding will prove your point but why am I not allowed to want Christmas to be over? I enjoyed the holiday. It was fun. I even performed the horrible Michael Buble cover of Santa Baby live for my friends. But now it's over.

Which has nothing to do with your "two billion Christians" comment. Why don't you read first before you troll. Disagreeing with a comment you made is not trolling. Stop. Someone made a comment about how weird it was that a random BublΓ© cover is one of the most streamed Christmas songs this year, then you said it's because there are two billion Christians in the world... which makes zero sense and I actually gave you the benefit of the doubt and thought you misinterpreted the post wrong. But now you're acting like I attacked you. That didn't happen, and now you are deliberately changing the subject and trying to say I'm trolling or have poor reading comprehension instead of just accepting your comment made no sense and moving on. No one is trolling. I realize that this is one of those fallacies where responding will prove your point but why am I not allowed to want Christmas to be over? I enjoyed the holiday. It was fun. I even performed the horrible Michael Buble cover of Santa Baby live for my friends. But now it's over.Β Uh... I never said you had to keep celebrating or whatever. Don't put words in my mouth. I was saying it's ridiculous to say Christmas music is going to have zero streams today when for the past month everyone has said that wouldn't happen with evidence from past years pointing to the contrary. Not to mention just because you move on from Christmas on the 26th doesn't mean everyone else does. Especially when the holiday lands on a Wednesday.

9 minutes until Mariah goes back into hibernation Thatβs an unnecessary and inaccurate dig. Is it tho? I know the poster was trolling but Mariah's bread and butter right now is clearly the Xmas hype. AIWFCIY alone generated more hype than the entire Caution era.

AIWFCIY alone generated more hype than the entire Caution era. You can't stay on top forever. We all know Mariah's climax was decades ago. But she is still the most streamed diva from the 90's anyway (even if we don't consider AIWFCIY). So she's still doing fine besides Xmas.

I know this is technically for the 1/11 chart but Travis Scott is releasing a compilation album for his label Cactus Jack tonight.

I could see Mariah actually doing new music in 2020 to get her 20 #1s and also because it is 2020 and I feel like everyone is gonna be putting out new music in the upcoming year.

I'm not trying to deny Mariah's huge legacy but again kids these days know her as the Xmas singer and she has embraced it (and gotten another #1 out of it).
As for another chart topper... maybe with the right collab. But I wouldn't bet on it.

Not me. I feel like it would generate some initial curiosity interest and then drop off. If Mariah wants an actual hit, she needs something that can be taken seriously and a song with Ariana isn't that.

If it ever would happen, I don't see it happening with collaborating with another female.

If Mariah ever gets another #1 it will be most likely due to someone sampling her on a dance or hip hop song and her getting credited as a feature. Like what happened with Dido, Enya, Whitney Houston, etc.

Expect a lot of big airplay increases for recent hits as AC returns to normal this week. "Sucker" especially will probably see huge increases.
Then expect those to continue as year end playlists take over later in the week from the other formats.
