i have four Top10s left...& 1 of them may surprise everyone...i know it even surprised me once i finished my rankings
oh, and can't we let Jack White & Dan Auerbach get into the top ten AT LEAST ONCE?!?!? sigh...what's it gonna take, a collaboration? i don't see THAT happening because i remember hearing about some kinda feud between the bands...maybe if they kiss & make up then their next eras can produce songs we elevate into our esteemed Top 10

You guys made a deathly oopsie letting one of these songs into the top 10 if you catch my drift Nope, you're just in the wrong side of Pulse Rock for a change. LOL Let's see what kind of shenanigans y'all pulled while I was drifting off to sleep: 19. Rainier Fog: I'm thinking the title is referring to an active volcano in Washington. The guitars set a dreamlike mood that is matched by the vocals. It never ascended the final feet to goodness or greatness, but still not bad for a band we haven't seen in a while. 18. Lo/Hi: I swear these kids would end up missing the top 10 of a Black Keys rankdown. Said what I needed to in Alternative. 17. Can't Sleep: I will agree with Red that Everywhere The Wind Blows could have done somewhat better. The vocals were nice here and matched by solid guitar work. 16. Who Do You Love: This lacked a certain something that marked Dorothy's better songs such as Raise Hell (which you can rate in my rockdown right now) and Flawless. But this bluesy rocker is still pretty good. 15. Do Your Worst: Anthemic choruses don't seem to be a high priority for you this year, huh? Anyway, nice vocals and guitars carried it to my top 10. 14. Unsainted: This song had an interesting opening. Everything about it was pretty solid. So yes, I liked two Slipknot songs this year. Does this mean I'm actually a rock fan? LOL 13. Out for Blood: Nice instrumentation. The vocals were just OK. For better or worse, it's Sum 41. Did anybody else think that they sounded a tad like The Offspring here? 12. Go: Said all I could say in Alternative. 11. Ready to Let Go: See number 12. Extra: Monster: I warned y'all I was going to give this a listen yesterday. And I think y'all need to apologize to King Kulick for besmirching his name. Seriously, the rapping wasn't half bad, but the electronic sound effect set that went off every 15-20 seconds or so ruined the song for me. So to sum up, two top 10s and my 68 are in the final ten. Mkay.

HERE'S THE TOP TEN! A Perfect Circle - So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish Badflower - The Jester Chevelle - Sleep Walking Elite Ghost - Dance Macabre Ghost - Faith Ice Nine Kills - A Grave Mistake The Black Moods - Bad News The Blue Stones - Black Holes (Solid Ground) Tool - Fear Inoculum Weezer - The End of the Game -What songs are your surprised made it this far? My remaining top 10s, LOL. It looked like there was a mission to snipe them out while I was asleep. Seriously, The End of the Game and Sleep Walking Elite. I have different opinions about both. -Which songs are you disappointed about coming up short? Last Day Under the Sun, The Black Keys songs, Do Your Worst. -My #1 actually made the top ten this year after missing in both the Active 2017 and 2018 rankdowns. Which song do you think earned my top rank? A Grave Mistake? Hard to predict other people's number ones. -Care to predict how this top ten plays out? No. OK. 10. The End of the Game 9. So Long and Thanks for All the Fish 8. Bad News 7. Sleep Walking Elite 6. The Jester 5. Faith 4. A Grave Mistake 3. Fear Inoculum 2. Black Holes 1. Dance Macabre Oh, and {Dont Peek Unless You Want a Spoiler} My Number 68 tune...is not from Tool.

LOL ...you've submitted for several rock chart rankdowns where I've carried far worse rankings than a 44 into the top 10. This includes a bottom 40 in the most recently completed rankdown. Is your memory that short?

Look, I don't pay attention to people's rankings in the top 10 other than myself and maybe the people slightly ahead or behind me. I pay more attention to the rankdown closeness where you're usually in the top 3 or 5 and where I'm usually towards the bottom. It is what it is.

For whatever reason the best Weezer songs always seem to take a while for me to fully get into them. "Only in Dreams" is a good example of this for me. Slowly but surely I'm starting to warm up to this song now and would rank it higher today. I'm glad it was able to make the top ten. 10

Where's the gap, Rowell? :sip2:
I'm at least glad that this followed in the path of a bunch of Alt crossovers here and did better than in Alt. I really shouldn't be so surprised that Weezer were capable of this song, given that The White Album was only released a few years ago.

I love Weezer just not all of their new music lol. "Can't Knock The Hustle" being a major exception, that song is such a jam.

Technically one of my lower rankings in this top ten, but this kicks ass, and I was pulling for it to do even better.

Up next at #8 is the first song to be revealed that received at least 10 top 10 rankings. 6 of the 7 remaining songs also achieved this feat.

9. Bad News - The Black Moods maybe it's just me but this sounded more 90's than 70's. I loved the retro vibe of "Belladonna". 90's is technically retro too, but this particular song failed to fully grip my attention.

"The End of the Game" grew on me from when I did the Alt RD, I gave it a much higher rank here. My lowest rank remaining is out with "Bad News" so starting off the night well.

Each of the first three reveals have been in my top ten*. Off to a flying start.
(To be fair, I was kind of, sort of anti-rooting for this, because I actually thought this might have a chance to win. Even though I love this song, it would have been a somewhat underwhelming winner.)
* I already said that my #11 and #12 might as well be in my top ten earlier.

And now at #7 we reach the one and only point tie in the rankdown. This song lost the tie by virtue of having only one #1 ranking whereas the song at #6 has multiple #1s.

8. Sleep Walking Elite - Chevelle This is alright, and also textbook PULSE. It Crept into the range of songs that I kinda sorta like for guitars and chorus . I always bring up the same song, but "Shameful Metaphors" is that one song I can listen to again and again.

I was fine with "A Grave Mistake" for sure! Again, it's not a song that has really stuck with me after discovering it, but I like it and its definitely good. Most songs in my top 50 were fine, and I tolerated stuff even into my 60s.
