For anyone who has a Spotify account you haven't used for a while, you should probably log back in to make sure it hasn't been pimped out by hackers to stream flop songs by unknown artists lmao.

Iβve actually seen βWiggle Itβ by French Montana in a lot of TikToks. If they wanted to claim a song of his was blowing up on there, why not that one?
This whole situation is hilarious to me. French Montana has got to be one of the most desperate guys in the music industry.

Lmao I canβt believe I mixed up Carti and Cardi. But yeah, I kind of miss her presence so itβd be nice for her to get a hit.

Do we think radio will pick up Yummy fast enough to get it on this weekβs chart? I dunno, the fact that 10,000 Hours is riding high could hamper its chances. In any case, the bulk of Yummy talk will belong in the 1/18 thread.

I'm gonna be honest, I was a bit hash and jumped the gun when I said Yummy was gonna be a bonified smash. That said, even though the song is getting a negative reception, I wouldn't discount it still lingering around the Top 40, especially thanks to radio. Bad reception didn't stop 'No Guidance' or 'I Don't Care' from sticking around and Bieber's fans are not all that different from Chris Brown or Ed Sheeran fans so I'm sure they'd love for their idol to stick in the Top 20.

No Guidance didn't really get bad reception at all.... people complaining about Chris Brown in general who aren't his target audience/fans to begin with and have disliked him regardless the entire 2010s is not bad reception. The song goes off in clubs/parties, and the radio audience especially loves it where it's breaking records at Urban radio. It also even has a GRAMMY nom for Best R&B song... most people would actually probably call it Chris's best single in years lmao.

I'm seeing mostly positive reactions to Yummy on Twitter? Not sure where this supposed negative reception is other than here.

If you get people like post malone and cardi b on your song and it still flops, you should probably give up your career instead of forcing it

I mean his most famous is only popular because of Swae Lee, and I went back and counted, he's literally on the song for about a quarter of it (64 seconds of a 244 second song).

10,000 Hours returned to #1 at Pandora, because Circles was sunsetted this week.

This French Montana Spotify hacking scandal is so unbelievably hilarious π
Also, congratulations to Kayla for getting her post retweeted by the man himself. Best way to begin the first official tracking week of the decade.

I wouldn't be surprised if Writing On The Wall controversy actually caused the delay in publishing Spotify numbers from yesterday.

How is Dua Lipa's "Don't Start Now" still #29 on the radio? It's been out for a while, it's a bop, and she's a relatively new artist with at least one big hit already. Damn, radio.

I really don't get why radio is keeping 2019 summer relics like "No Guidance" and "SeΓ±orita" alive in the top 10 (even before the Year-End Countdowns) while much more deserving hits like "Lover" and "Don't Start Now" were paid dust. I thought the former in particular was bound to be a radio darling during the winter/Christmas season...

'safe garbage' is the perfect way to describe these radio-tailored hits. They're bland enough to be background music, and with the right dose of inoffensive so listeners don't switch to another station (which puts 'Someone You Loved" on a whole different category, I'm afraid π). I still have mixed feelings on radio sometimes, especially since it was single-handedly responsible for making the likes of "High Hopes" a hit (and hence giving Panic! At The Disco their much deserved comeback), and songs like "Good As Hell" and "breathin" got a significant boost thanks to it as well.

Lol, if these global numbers stay relative to the US numbers (it was 800k to 600k yesterday), then Writing on the Wall should have anywhere from 900k to 1.2 million on the US charts today if Spotify hasn't removed it. Congratulations, French Montana!
