The formula for the Billboard Hot 100 gets changed only when something significant occurs - like when changing streaming tiers or adding a significant streaming station.
When this could happen is anytime.
The formula definitely doesn't change just because an era is weak - otherwise it would've changed when GLY was at #1.

^Whenever they make an adjustment, they will increase the effect of digital sales and radio for the Hot 100 as those two components have gotten diminished numbers.

I donβt see why radio needs to be decreased. Arenβt peaks decreasing? Like Good as Hell was number 1 with less than 100m impressions, wasnβt it? So wouldnβt itβs effect on the Hot 100 decrease accordingly?

It's definitely not as prominent since people have started streaming music in their cars instead though. |
