I’m confused? Why’d OTR go down that many spots? Is there a new rule change? TikTok compilations effectively lost all of their weight this week. Billboard made a differentiation between what they called "song UGC" and "non-song UGC" from what i can infer… song UGC: fan lyric video uploads, fan audio video uploads, and (courtesy of rimetm ) what is best called long-form meme videos. think all of those "[song] if [x]" meme videos that feature the full song but with some form of modification. like, "redbone but if sang in the key of C" or whatever you have it… non-song UGC: practically everything else. tiktok compilations fall into this category because they don't really focus on the actual song… and the clips of the actual song audio themselves are typically always 15 seconds and they rarely exceed 20 seconds… this is especially problematic because "30 seconds = 1 legit play" has been the music streaming standard for years at this point Billboard said that the latter category, non-song UGC, no longer counts towards their song charts… this includes BU100, H100 recurrents, genre charts, etc. song UGC still counts, but has been pushed to the same category as programmed streams… so now they only count as 1/2 of a stream www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9HZH_P_5qMso you mean all of the times i've watched this video until now, technically i've been giving points to MMMBop?

I wonder if “Old Town Road” would have still broken the record under this new rule.

Curious about Yummy's 2nd week drop. Also, who the hell is buying a vinil with only 1 song in it? Such a cash and chart points grab

Idk what I think about the UGC thing, since it doesn’t feel totally consistent with their other stuff. I’d’ve kept all UGC that was counted in there, but with reduced weighting. But maybe I’m just being change adverse.

Is hollywood’s bleeding post malone’s biggest era? He landed 2 top 5 YE hits and one of them (sunflower) will be on the all time list. Goodbyes had a respectable run. Then circles is having some incredible longevity and has never left the top 5 once in 3 months and the lingering songs like enemies and take what you want are still one the charts. Was BB&B like this?

I'd say they are pretty equal. B&B Had 2 #1's. Rockstar (8 weeks) charted for 41 weeks. Psycho (1 week) charted for 39 weeks. Better now peaked at #3 but from what I remember was an extremely strong 3, and also charted longer then both Rockstar and Psycho, 52 weeks aka a whole year. It also had some moderate hits Ball for me and Candy Paint. As well as an album bomb when the album was released. A massive era. But the era was cut short because he released Sunflower.
Now Hollywood is Bleeding had a much longer rollout of singles and it allowed Post to gather 3 top three singles before the album release. Sunflower #1 (1 week) charted for an iconic 53 weeks. Wow peaked at #2 and charted for 44 weeks. Goodbyes peaked at #3 but I wouldn't say it was as big as Better now, it charted for 21 weeks compared to Better now's 52. Now where the era's differ is when it comes to Circles. B&B didn't have a huge 4th hit like HIB. Circles has obviously hit #1 as well and is enjoying some great longevity. Also this era also gave us TWYW which peaked at #8 and Enemies which peaked at #16. Both of which are still charting and will likely hit 20 weeks. Now all of this combined with a huge album bomb, the era was obviously huge.
I think on paper Hollywood is bleeding is bigger but it's also important to remember Sunflower was originally apart of the Spiderman soundtrack so after its huge success it seems like they just slapped it on the album. Personally to me B&B "feels" bigger. But regardless both eras were/are huge and anyone out there would kill to have an era half as big as either.
