Finishing out our top 3 is:
Overall Score: 96.2 Roadblock Rank: #1 | Detour Rank: #4 | Intersection Rank: #3 Bonus from Leg 8: 2.0 (2nd place) Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Will)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (7 for quality, 2 for theme = 9/10)
Mylo: Love love love this song. Rihanna has released plenty of supbar and mediocre songs, this is firmly not one. Interplay between them is awesome, melodies of the highest quality, and a bare yet satisfying instrumental. Itโs not necessarily very over-the-top, particularly in sound, but the lyrics are dramatic enough to validate this songโs selection. (7 for quality, 2 for theme, 9 overall.)
Surf: The choices this round needed to dig a little deeper, Rihanna's own "Man Down", "Unfaithful", and "Love on the Brain" are more dramatic than this song is. It's a safe, flavorless take on over-the-top. It's a standard piano ballad with an average at best (unmemorable at worst) climax. It's more dramatic than Take a Walk though, so that's something. The song itself is beautiful and I don't want it to sound like I hate the song (I would never!) I just know there's a lot of material out there that would be better suited for this particular theme. (6.5/7 quality points. 1.5/3 theme points. 8/10)
Charmander: Quality: 5.5/7 Theme: 2/3 Total: 7.5/10
I haven't listened to this in a while, so nice to re-visit this. I suppose I get why this can be dramatic, as it's about her wanting a guy to stay in a relationship. The lyrics or production aren't very dramatic, but Rihanna's vocals, I do feel some emotion there and her angst in the song, which does give it a little more dramatic feeling. It's a little boring which is why I haven't gone back to it, but fine enough.
Overall: 34.7
Detour Results:
(Staying Strong)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (5.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 8.5/10)
Mylo: I appreciate this choice, definitely the longest sustaining career of all the artists listed here. The song itself is fine, a cool sound that has an awesome bass and claps. (7.7/10)
Shooter: Great song and impossible to argue with a career that spans four decades being a long period of time. (10/10)
CrapDude: I kinda got nothing much to analyze here. It's just a pretty fun track from 80s Madonna, who always had fun music. A fine performance from the debatable music queen herself. (8.5/10)
Overall: 35
Intersection Results:
(With Drake and Mayman) Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (6.5/10)
Mylo: This is fine enough? I have almost nothing to say about it, they both give an alright performance and the production is pretty typical latin pop. Nice enough? (7/10)
Zach: (4/10)
Austin: Theme Rating: 4.5/5 This pretty much perfectly sums up the theme. The Spanish and English sections are pretty much equally featured. I only docked off half a point because, well, Spanish seemed like an obvious cop out and, well, it's China. Song Rating: 4/5 I really enjoy this song. It's a tad cheesy in parts, but it's so damn catchy and Luis and Demi sound very good together. Far superior to the dreadful "Despacito." Overall Rating: 8.5/10
Overall: 26
Another leg alive and well! 1 point for you~

We're already at the bottom 3! Surviving another leg is:
4. The Caged Nooks (@doinktheclown & tanooki ) Overall Score: 94.2 Roadblock Rank: #5 | Detour Rank: #2 | Intersection Rank: #2 Bonus from Leg 8: 3.0 (1st place) Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Juggalo)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (2 for quality, 1 for theme = 3/10)
Mylo: Sending R. Kelly is a CHOICE. Like, even ignoring his personal life I donโt even like him musically. But what can I say, this bops! Itโs a really smooth song, better than the absolute trash that is Ignition lol. Theme-wise itโs a little harder to see, I guess it is dramatic but itโs more of a nuanced interpretation. Still, unexpected and cool choice~ (6 for quality, 1.5 for theme, 7.5 overall)
Surf: This song fits the bill when it comes to serving drama - the storytelling was enthralling from beginning to end. This song singlehandedly shat on Tyler Perry's career. It's a shame that I wasn't a huge fan of the vocals, they were grating to my ears, unfortunately. The melody was also a drawback, the song was very monotonous and did not need to be 6 entire minutes, it dragged after the second chorus. Also negative points for the inclusion of R. Kelly - that man makes my skin crawl. 3/7 quality points. 3/3 theme points. 6/10
Charmander: Quality: 6.5/7 Theme: 2.5/3 Total: 9/10
Now this was quite an interesting song, that was really enjoyable on second listen and reading the lyrics. Definitely pretty dramatic, can totally imagine a romance drama movie scene like this lol. The production is really nice and soothing, though maybe a little too soothing which made it not as dramatic, but still really pleasant. I really enjoy songs that tell a specific story and that I can visualize very clearly, so great job on this pick!
Overall: 25.5
Detour Results:
(Staying Strong)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (6.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 9.5/10)
Mylo: How did it take me this long to appreciate this song? This style from Rihanna is so welcome, the build-up is powerful and that payoff is beautiful! We could really use Rihanna right about now in the music scene, especially if she brings quality like this and Kiss It Better~ (9.7)
Shooter: Again, there's only 15 years of a career to work with. Long-adjacent? We'll go with that. Of the most questionable submissions here, I like it the best so it gets the highest mark. (8/10)
PoopDude: Yep, I'm with the majority, that ANTi is Riri's best album. It's performances like this that prove it. I'll admit, airplay might've had it burn down on me a little, but I cannot disagree with Riri's performance in this. I dig the whole Etta James style the song was going for (8/10)
Overall: 35.2
Intersection Results:
(With BB and Walt) Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (8/10)
Mylo: I donโt actually think Iโve heard the version with Christina and crew haha, so hearing this is my first toe into the water of Lady Marmalade. And I got to say, itโs a good toe! That is to say, itโs a good song lol. Cool pick~ (8.5/10)
Zach: (7/10)
Austin: Theme Rating: 2/5 Yeah, it has French mixed in here and there, but it's only the same two lines. Song Rating: 5/5 An absolute iconic classic song! One of soul's most recognisable hits by one of soul's most recognisable voices. A total earworm, sexy, and classy. Overall Rating: 7/10
Overall: 30.5
Still surviving despite the FF, nice! 0.5 points for you and a final 5 placement~

And so we hit the dreaded bottom two. Either Drake/Mayman or MoD/District will come in last and may be eliminated...
The final team to certainly be safe is:
Overall Score: 92.9 Roadblock Rank: #6 | Detour Rank: #5 | Intersection Rank: #1 Bonus from Leg 8: 1.0 (4th place) Roadblock Results:
(Sent by MoD)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (7 for quality, 1 for theme = 8/10)
Mylo: I do like the instrumental, but this is honestly the song that fits the theme the least for me. Iโm sorry, I donโt get which part of this is over the top or dramatic lol? Itโs pleasant and nice to listen to, got a simple sweet hook and little else to really hit the target. (5.7 for quality, 0 for theme, 5.7 overall)
Surf: I think you're walking in the wrong category, mama. It's a cute song, but nothing in the lyrical content, vocal delivery or the music's production says "over-the-top" nor "dramatic" to me. It's a standard alternative song. I have no more notes about this one. 5/7 quality points. 0/3 theme points. 5/10
Charmander: Quality: 4.5/7 Theme: 1.5/3 Total: 6/10
I don't know much of Passion Pit's material. This was kinda bland to me sorry, with a repetitive chorus and just not much depth to the song. Not all that over the top or dramatic either, besides the production I guess? There's nothing wrong with the song, but not a lot of things going for it either, sorry.
Overall: 24.7
Detour Results:
(Staying Strong)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (6.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 9.5/10)
Mylo: Iโll be honest, if it wasnโt for that production this song couldโve been insufferable. I donโt love Adamโs vocals here, the lyrics arenโt particularly great. But that production saves this big time, such a tight cohesive groove! Succinct and crisp, bumps this song up tenfold! (9.2/10)
Shooter: Again, are we going to consider M5's career as M5 the starting point (17.5 years) or does their pre-M5 existence as Kara's Flowers count (25 years)? I'd say a two decade-plus career definitely qualifies but this isn't my favourite of their singles so I'm not as enthused. (6/10)
CrapDude: Ah crap, these guys again. Listening to this, it is absolutely tragic to how this band has sank BELOW the bottom of the barrel. The opening guitar notes always get me hyped for this track. Followed with the funky synths in the back plus perhaps Adam Levine's best performance in the band, this is an absolute 2000s classic, and could easily be a big contender for their best song. 9/10
Overall: 33.7
Intersection Results:
(With Gates and Jamesflame) Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (9.5/10)
Mylo: I do wish this song had a little less English, it definitely feels English-centric, but otherwise this is awesome! Iโm really digging Kero Kero Bonito, I loved Make Believe and this is up there too. (9.5/10)
Zach: (7/10)
Austin: Theme Rating: 3.5/5 I really feel that this theme should feature a song that prominently features multiple languages, but in this track, the Japanese is only present in about 90% of the bridge and the rest of the track is in English. Props for not sending in the more abundant and obvious Spanish examples, though! An extra half point for going with an Asian language in the Chinese stop. (Would've been even cooler if the song were in Chinese, though.) Song Rating: 4/5 This is fun! It's got this cool 80s vibe to it that reminds me a lot of something like The Go-Go's. It's very cute. Overall Rating: 7.5/10
Overall: 33.5
A close call for you two, possibly the first one you've ever had! So consistent in your rising, you've now been consistent with your decreases. Thankfully you're still in, but with no points you've got to bring it all next time!

And so it was: The Sickos have their final mode... or have they?
6. The SICKOS (@drakeisskinny & Mayman ) Overall Score: 87.5 Roadblock Rank: #4 | Detour Rank: #6 | Intersection Rank: #3 Bonus from Leg 8: 0.5 (5th place) Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Mayman)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (6 for quality, 3 for theme = 9/10)
Mylo: Everyoneโs favourite Kanye fan, Kanye West! For what its worth, I actually donโt hate what Iโve heard from him and this isnโt an exception. However Iโll be honest, I think Kanye has far better choices for this theme lol. Perhaps thatโs just me, but something like Black Skinhead was right there. Oh well, song is good enough? (5.5 for quality, 1 for theme, 6.5 overall)
Surf: A good energetic song, it has a great rhythm to it that makes me want to hit up the cardio machines at the gym. However, I don't see much drama in the song outside of the chanting sample. It's a fine, but ultimately lack-luster choice... and in an over-the-top themed round it's very underwhelming to see. 5/7 quality points 1/3 theme points. 6/10
Charmander: Quality: 7/7 Theme: 3/3 Total: 10/10
Ok this is more like what I was expecting for the theme of over the top and dramatic! I've heard this a few times (don't really remember, but it's popular so somewhere), but never in full I don't think. Probably in commericals or something. Anyways, the production is amazing on this track and it's catchy. It's pretty over the top of what Kanye is saying plus the whole vibe of the song, and the production adds a little drama to it too as it builds up. Definitely my favorite song of the round, great pick.
Overall: 31.5
Detour Results:
(Staying Strong)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (6 for quality, 3 for theme = 9/10)
Mylo: Iโm a sucker for some pop Beyonce, I think she has a really nice singing voice for sweet songs like this. However, this is no XO haha. The chorus doesnโt really flow too well, especially not her repetition of Halo. Not too sold on the religious imagery either but the verses are good enough to bring this up a bit! (8/10)
Shooter: Yeah, the song is good but we have to focus on the theme and how it doesn't really specify what a "long period of time" is considered to be so it's kind of hard to gauge accordingly. Plus, you'd have to decide if you consider Beyoncรฉ's tenure in Destiny's Child counts (22.5 years) or if Beyoncรฉ, the solo star, has to be judged on her own solo timeline (17.5 years). Tough call. 5/10
PoopDude: This is good. Not one of Beyonce's greatest songs, and it's a little overrated compared to a LOT of her other stuff. My problems with this come from well, it's become both an overplayed AC station track and has become one of those motivational songs played at those high school assemblies (is the TeenNick Halo Awards still a thing? LOL). However, B does give a good performance in this, and as overplayed as it is, I'd still take it anyday over Single Ladies 7.5/10
Overall: 29.5
Intersection Results:
(With Will and Samo) Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: (6.5/10)
Mylo: This is fine enough? I have almost nothing to say about it, they both give an alright performance and the production is pretty typical latin pop. Nice enough? (7/10)
Zach: (4/10)
Austin: Theme Rating: 4.5/5 This pretty much perfectly sums up the theme. The Spanish and English sections are pretty much equally featured. I only docked off half a point because, well, Spanish seemed like an obvious cop out and, well, it's China. Song Rating: 4/5 I really enjoy this song. Leg 10: Seoul/Tokyo/ManilaChallenge #1: Detour (Seoul)What is a detour? In these challenges, two themes will be available, and teams will choose to send a song for the one they feel more confident in. Be sure to specify which theme you are sending forDetour Theme: Party or ArtyParty: Seoul is known for having a wild, nonstop nightlife party scene. For this detour, you must send a party jamORArty: Another thing Seoul is known for is the beautiful art and scenery that can be found all over the city. For this detour, you must send a low key, โartsyโ song Challenge #2: Roadblock (Tokyo)What is a roadblock? In these challenges, only one member of the team can come up with a song to send. No consulting. You'll be on the honor system here. Send in your group pm who will do this road block. They will then without consulting their teammate see the theme and send the song in individual pms. tl;dr only one person sends a song, pick who that is in the group pms, then and only then they see the theme
Challenge #3: Special Roadblock (Manila)What is a special roadblock? This challenge operates the same way as a normal roadblock, except the theme will center around a more specialized theme (this'll make more sense once you see the theme). Different team members must complete the Roadblock and Special RoadblockTWIST: Partner SwapFor this leg and this leg only, we'll be shaking up the teams. This will be a non elimination leg and teams will revert to normal next leg. However, all bonuses will go into effect in Leg 11 alongside the following bonuses from this leg:~the members of the winning team in this leg will each earn a +5 bonus for their team~the members of the losing team in this leg will each force their teams to complete a Speed Bump next roundand without further ado, here are the swapped teams:samo๐ฆ & BB๐ DistrictTwelve & jamesflame @doinktheclown & MoD singingrulebritannia & willapted33 walt91 & tanooki
Consult with your new teammate and get your songs in within 36 hours or else your team will NOT have a song in that category and will get an automatic 0/10. You're always welcome to ask me and Mylo any questions you have! Good luck everyone!

Leg 10 Songs:Challenge #1: Detour (Seoul) Party: Earth, Wind & Fire - September Elton John - Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) Kesha - TiK ToK The Weeknd & Daft Punk - Starboy Usher ft. Lil Jon, Ludacris - Yeah!
and joining us to judge this challenge will be gabe & Mayman
Challenge #2: Roadblock (Tokyo) Theme: Bottoms Up One thing Tokyo is known for is its alcohol. Be it the Golden Gai neighborhood, where thereโs over 200 bars in โhalf the size of a Costcoโ, their famously fresh cocktails, or their โDiamonds are Foreverโ martini: Grey Goose Vodka with some lime poured over a one-carat diamond. For this roadblock, you must send a song about drinking. Songs: Childish Gambino - Sober Kendrick Lamar - Swimming Pools (Drank) Lucy Spraggan - Last Night (Beer Fear) MARINA - Shampain MF DOOM - One Beer
and joining us to judge this challenge will be Fire & @drakeisskinny
Challenge #3: Special Roadblock Theme: Opposite Life The Philippines is a country that can seem to be dealing with two opposing sides. It has one of the biggest coastlines and a solid population despite not having a large area. So, for this special roadblock, you must send a song that both hit the hot 100 while also being notably awful. Youโll be ranked oppositely for this song, so a normal 1/10 rank for quality would give you 9 points. Only Billboard credited songs count, so things like the Justin Bieber remix of Bad Guy would not count as it wasnโt ever credited on a week. Songs: Baauer - Harlem Shake Brad Paisley ft. LL Cool J - Accidental Racist Casper, Nio Garcรญa, Darell, Nicky Jam, Bad Bunny & Ozuna - Te Bote (Remix) John Rich & The Five - Shut Up About Politics Machine Gun Kelly - RAP DEVIL
and joining us to judge this challenge will be anorable & @killamonjaro
do your judging within three days!

here's our exit interview with Mayman & @drakeisskinnyhow do you feel about your time in the race?
Mayman: we defied all expectations let's be honest. we really are proud since we outlasted people who should've done better than us.
drakeisskinny: I had a great time i think the hosts were great, i went from being an underdog to a front runner, banned in the middle of it. It was just a great junory overall
do you think you could've/should've done anything different?
Mayman: not sending รฉchame la culpa
drakeisskinny: I would of had my voice more heard in the bilingual contest n sent for the roadblock
any predictions?
Mayman: hopefully the amazing mod/district win. they stuck with us for the yield vote which was really cool. if not them, then hopefully it's will/samo. hopefully tanooki and caged leave next because they use payola and unethical tactics to stay in.
drakeisskinny: Walt is gonna wim win
