rolling up into a decisive first place its...1. singingrulebritannia & willapted33 Overall Score: 104.7Detour Rank: #4 | Roadblock Rank: #1 | Special Roadblock Rank: #1Detour Results: (Party)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I mean it’s not Elton’s best song, but his very best are so hard to top that’s hardly a mark against it. it’s also for sure something that I could see being played at a party. (6 for quality, 3 for theme = 9/10)Mylo: Is it bad I thought of Panic!’s song after seeing this title haha? The production quality is super high her, it’s overall definitely a solid party song! Smart throwback pick. (6 for quality, 3 for theme, 9 overall) Gabe: I've actually never listened to this song, and it's not bad! Definitely not my preferred genre of music but I understand the appeal and enjoyed listening to it. However, I'm not entirely sure it fits the theme well.. I think that parts of this song do but the instrumentals are just too long to fully enjoy listening to this at a party! (4/7 + 1.5/3 = 5.5/10)Mayman: This was a discovery for me and the song is alright. It's not something I would actively seek out, but it was nice. I am only docking one point for this because I can't really see this being played at parties, but it makes up for that by the songs subject being revolves around a saturday night. (Quality: 5/7, Theme: 2/3, 7/10)Overall: 30.5Roadblock Results:(Sent by Gates)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is really cool. it’s a super solid pop track, with a sick beat and some good vocals to boot. also the lyrics are in fact about drinking lol. (6.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 9.5/10)Mylo: I expected to like this more than I do. Don’t get me wrong, I like it! It’s a nice song, but I’d struggle to consider it great. How To Be A Heartbreaker is more in my lane of Marina, but I give this song points just for that title. That’s a fun spelling haha, what can I say? (8.2/10)Fire: (9/10)drakeisskinny: The family jewels is my go to depression album when I'm not sad enough for blonde, its great and this song is no expectations. Its a admire look back at her harsh childhood and it still fun (Quality: 6/7, Theme: 3/3, 9/10)Overall: 35.7Special Roadblock Results:(Sent by Will)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this song makes me want to vomit. musically it’s thoroughly uninteresting, and lyrically it’s incredibly gross and presents all sorts of nasty and racist ideas. (0/10)
Mylo: Musically, this is dull but inoffensive. However this is obviously a *lyrical* song and should be judged as such. Spoiler alert: It’s awful. It simplifies ACTUAL racial problems into the simplest stereotypes and blame shifting. Whoever came up with the line ‘Dear Mr. White Man’ can please never write a song again ever. Although, I don’t think there’s a single passable line is this ignorant garbage. Suitably trash choice~ (0.5/10, 9.5 points)
Nora: 0/10
vm: This song is such a snoozefest, 5 minutes of absolute nothingness. It's so slow, and the 'climax' of the song is just him stretchinggg hissss vocallsssss a bit louder, which makes it feel even more sluggish and deafening. Not only does LL Cool J's verse not suit the production at all, his delivery is somehow even worse than Brad Paisley's and just feels messy. I don't know why someone would listen to this for 5 minutes willingly. I genuinely don't see absolutely anything redeemable about this, so (1/10)
Overall: 1.5 -> 38.5
very strong showing from you two, and because of that both Team Jeff and The Optimistic Cockroaches will be getting +5 next round!

they may be far behind first place but still, 2nd is nothing to scoff at2. @doinktheclown & MoD Overall Score: 91.2Detour Rank: #5 | Roadblock Rank: #2 | Special Roadblock Rank: #3Detour Results:(Party)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I think this is kinda overrated but like it also slaps so I’m conflicted. in terms of the theme, I think it fits pretty well. I could totally see this getting put on at a party haha. (5.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 8.5/10)Mylo: Very much a fan of this sound from The Weeknd. In fact I only recently really got into this song, the lyrics put me off for quite a while. My issue comes with the theme. I could maybe understand the vibe of this song being party adjacent, but the lyrics to me are so isolated and secluded I can’t really see it? It’s not really doing it for me sorry. (6.3 for quality, 1 for theme, 7.3 overall)Gabe: I'm really conflicted with this song, as I love it but it's kind of hard to see it as a party song. I think it could work in some cases... but not most. When you think of party, you think of high-energy fun songs, whereas I actually have this song on a winter vibes playlist. I think you definitely could have picked a song that was more obviously in theme. (5.5/7 + 1.5/3 = 7/10)Mayman: Out of all of the songs on this list, this is the one I would least consider a party song. Sure, it's catchy and a lot of people know it, but party song? Nah. The song is still enjoyable even though it has burned a little bit on me. I'm not sure if either one of these have already been sent or not, but Blinding Lights or even Can't Feel My Face would've been better choices from The Weeknd for this category. Quality: 6/7, Theme: 1/3, 7/10)Overall: 29.8Roadblock Results:(Sent by Juggalo)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is such a Jugg song lol. I do like it a fair amount. I think it captures that over drinking vibe pretty well, and I do find some of the lines pretty fun. that said it’s also like kinda annoying. (4.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 7.5/10)Mylo: I’d call this song quirky, it’s almost parodical in a way. It’s good enough, I like the lyrics but I definitely think it misses something to push it above and beyond. Oh well, it’s definitely a fine submission and a less conventional one, nice! (7.7/10)Fire: (9/10)drakeisskinny: Didn't this song debut on a music show? Or was it a cover cuz my brother always play it at night while im trying to sleep. But honestly i like this, the lyrics are funny and clever and the production is just fun. Good choice (quality: 5/, theme: 2/3, 7/10)Overall: 31.2Special Roadblock Results:(Sent by MoD)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this song’s greatest sin is being boring and having some annoying vocals. not THAT awful, I used to hate it much more. apparently the lyrics are also bad? idk. but don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s good at all haha. (4/10)
Mylo: Yeah the song is bad. It’s a dull almost 7 minute cut remarkably lacking fun despite what some cancelled slip would tell you. Knowing the premise is about trashing a woman doesn’t help either, especially considering these guys are doing it on such an obviously trash song lol. And yet… that hook gets annoyingly stuck in my head. It’s barely a positive, this song is still undeniably bad but it has at least ONE aspect I can appreciate in it which is better than another pick here. (0.8/10, 9.2 points)
Nora: good on the person who nominated Te Bote. worst song to make the YE since 2012 (0/10)
vm: Nothing really stands out to me for this track. The production is average, but slightly on the better side, it's quite mellow and chilled. I don't think has really anything that stands out, and 6 minutes is also a big yikes for me. I don't have much to say at all, I guess I'd give it a (5/10)
Overall: 9.8 -> 30.2
you two didn't get the bonus for your teams, but you also won't be the reason if your teams have to face a speed bump next leg

coming in only 0.3 points ahead of 4th place its...3. walt91 & tanooki Overall Score: 84Detour Rank: #2 | Roadblock Rank: #5 | Special Roadblock Rank: #2Detour Results:(Party)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: very cool song. it’s like so overexposed but also still really really good. additionally, it’s like the quintessential party song, so full theme points here. (6 for quality, 3 for theme = 9/10)Mylo: Yeah no thanks. I don’t hate this or anything but it’s pretty mediocre to me. It’s a collection of the sounds from the mid 2000s I don’t like, the synths in particular are off-putting to every extent. The chorus is a touch obnoxious but I like the energy at least, the verses ruin that and leaves the song simply awkward for me. Ludacris definitely carries this song, despite the fact his lyrics are not very good lol. I guess it is a good party song though, I just *wish* it wasn’t lol. (1.5 for quality, 3 for theme, 4.5 overall)Gabe: This is the epitome of a party song, so I applaud you for a solid choice in terms of the theme. I enjoy this song, but I don't love it, which is why I'm only giving a 5/7 for the song part of it. Personally, I can only hear yeah so many times without going crazy. (5/7 + 3/3 = 8/10)Mayman: Yeah (pun intended), this is the one. This is one of the essential party songs. Everyone knows the words to this song. It's catchy, fun, and an iconic song. Not to mention that this is one of my favorite songs of the '00s. To whoever sent this, you struck gold with this one. Great choice! (Quality: 7/7, Theme: 3/3, 10/10)Roadblock Results:(Sent by Tanooki)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: ...a 0/10? for this? I just...I don’t get it. (4.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 7.5/10)Mylo: I have approximately nothing to say about this. It’s passable background music, I’d never choose to listen to it but I can’t really fault it for anything? Okay choice~ (5.5/10) Fire: (0/10)drakeisskinny: overall i liked this song and i enjoy that people are starting to send in more rap. It has a very layback production and good lyrics (quality: 5/7, theme: 3/3, 8/10)Overall: 21Special Roadblock Results:(Sent by Walt)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: literally this was written by Fox News. hypocritical much? 99% of these lyrics could be applied to how awful Fox News anchors are. with that removed, the song just like sounds awful and directly promotes ignorance, which is just like stupid man. (1/10)
Mylo: Why does this sound actually kind of fun? Had this musical sound gone to better lyrics I might’ve given it a solid score haha. Even still, the lyrics to this are actually not as bad as I thought they would be. This is an example of the context making the song worse, the lyrics aren’t actually anything offensive or notably awful. In fact I think this is not even a ‘bad’ song, although I certainly don’t like it haha. (4.5/10, 5.5 points)
Nora: (0/10)
vm: I'm not the biggest fan of country, so this may have some bias. But yea, I didn't enjoy this. I'm not the one to usually look at lyrical content/structure in a song, but if you think hip-hop is repetitive, this thing legit only has two 4 line verses. That on its own doesn't make it bad, but the delivery on the hook is just so annoying, it gets quite sickening eventually. The production also feels incredibly basic and bland, so that's not really redeeming. However, I also acknowledge my bias may be getting in the way, so I'll probably give this a (3/10)
Overall: 8.5 -> 31.5
you two managed to overcome a 0/10 from one judge in the roadblock (the lowest score received by a song yet, beating out the 0.3 for Bohemian Rhapsody) and ultimately winded up with a decent placement in 3rd

coming in just behind Walt & Tanooki its...4. DistrictTwelve & jamesflame Overall Score: 83.7Detour Rank: #3 | Roadblock Rank: #3 | Special Roadblock Rank: #4Detour Results:(Party)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: total classic! I love how perfectly 70s the song is. it’s also a perfect party song. overall this is just superb pick for this round, nice job! (7 for quality, 3 for theme = 10/10)Mylo: I can’t believe it took me this long to find this song! I’ve heard it being discussed but I didn’t realise it was this one, this is a groovy jam! Nice pick~ (5.7 for quality, 1.5 for theme, 7.2 overall)Gabe: I know that some people really like this song... but it's just not for me. The high pitched voice is hella annoying! I think it fits the theme really well though, it has no business being at any party of mine but I think a lot of people would be excited if this song came on at a party. (3/7 + 2.5/3 = 5.5/10)Mayman: This song is really good and is a classic across generations. The only issue I have with the song is that I wouldn't consider it a party song. I only docked one point for the theme for that as I could see it being one for others. (Quality: 6/7, Theme: 2/3, 8/10)Overall: 30.7Roadblock Results:(Sent by jamesflame)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I love this song. it’s so damn chilled out and vibey, great stuff. in terms of theme, I think it gets close, but like I think the song is more about a relationship than about drinking, so no perfect theme points haha. (7 for quality, 2 for theme = 9/10)Mylo: Wow, I enjoy this a lot! Glover has a nice performance and the instrumental is immaculate! Very nice discovery, even if it isn’t *that* much about alcohol lol. (9/10)Fire: (7/10)drakeisskinny: This song is just super boring. Its very repetitive with like 8 words sang over all and there a random drop in the middle of it to make it more excited but all in all i hate the song (Quality: 2/7, theme: 1/3, 3/10)Overall: 28Special Roadblock Results:(Sent by D12)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I’ve always really disliked this song. but I don’t think I ever realized it was like nearly 5 minutes long. also ya know it’s bad when I’m siding with Eminem (who I really don’t like as an artist or a person) in a beef. but hey, that’s what happens when you release a 5 minute long, whiny and annoying track. (2/10)
Mylo: Did we really have to include this out of all the actual not good songs that have charted on the hot 100? Eminem’s OWN diss track Killshot is worse than this, along with Not Afraid, Just Lose It, River, hell most of his charting singles. This is yet another weak choice here, it really doesn’t feel like this player chose smartly. I don’t even like Machine Gun Kelly but here he’s not even that bad haha. (5/10)
Nora: (1/10)
vm: The production on this is actually really good, Ronny J does a very good job. As a disstrack, this is pretty average, but musically, it's not that bad. The attempted autotune he uses during the hook is quite weird, but eventually it sticks in my head. My main concern with this song is that it's a bit long, but hey, it's a pretty good song (7/10)
Overall: 15 -> 25
4th isn't too bad, and both your teams will be avoiding the speed bump, so all's well that ends well our unfortunate losers5. samo🦕 & BB🌕 Overall Score: 81.3Detour Rank: #1 | Roadblock Rank: #4 | Special Roadblock Rank: #5Detour Results:(Party)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is a very straightforward party song, but hey if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. the song is soooo early 2010s but I still like it for what it is. (6.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 9.5/10)Mylo: Modern classic! Definitely the signature Ke$ha song, and for good reason! This receives full points for theme and a good score for quality, well done! (5.8 for quality, 3 for theme, 8.8 overall)Gabe: Now, this is the PERFECT party song. Such a guilty pleasure of mine! This song was everywhere back in 2010 and I'm glad it was. Such an iconic song.. when this plays at a party EVERYONE knows the words and starts dancing! Great job with this submission. (6/7 + 3/3 = 9/10)Mayman: Yeah, this is one of the first songs I would think of when coming up with a party song. The song is catchy, you can dance to it, and everyone knows it. This is still one of Kesha's best songs to this day. Great choice to whoever sent it! (Quality: 6/7, Theme: 3/3, 9/10)Overall: 36.3Roadblock Results:(Sent by BB)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: aw this song isn’t going to do well is it. a shame, as it’s quite great. also like it’s obviously about drinking, I don’t see that as debatable. if anyone doesn’t give this a 3/3 for theme I won’t know what to say lol. (6.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 9.5/10)Mylo: Everyone has probably been waiting for this moment. And yes, to dispel any thoughts to the contrary I do not like this song. However I don’t hate it, at all. I actually enjoy the first verse, Kendrick is tolerable the and flow is pretty cool! The chorus is my problem, I’s too grating and I immediately want to turn it off. It’s close to being okay but that squealing synth line is too much for me. It’s a pass, but not one without some merit (3.5/10)Fire: (2/10)drakeisskinny: this song is honestly perfect i love this, i first heard this on mtv right after it debuted at 100 on the hot 100 and at first i only liked the hook but not the verses but quickly i feel in love with the verses. The lyrics are top notched and it legitimately some of the greatest production i ever heard. Only problem is the clapping is very hard on my ears when i listen in headphones. Perfect song i hope y'all win (Quality: 7/7, Theme: 3/3, 10/10)Overall: 25Special Roadblock Results:(Sent by Samo)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: uninspired choice but this is a really bad song. like it feels that they just merged all the most annoying sounds they could together and then got a #1 hit out of it. (2/10)
Mylo: Is this great? Obviously not. Is this CLOSE to one of the worst songs ever? Definitely not. Hating this song is kinda weird to me, it’s basically just a nice instrumental track. I’m certainly disappointed in this choice, it’s a cop-out and when there’s a world of awful successful music, singling out this overhated track seems unnecessary. (6/10, 4 points)
Nora: I don't hate it lol (5/10)
vm: Honestly, I don't find this a bad song at all. It's just fun, catchy and very upbeat. It manages to always put me in a pretty good mood. My main concern with this song is throughout the middle, it creates a false positive in the way that you feel like the beat is going to drop, but it doesn't, which takes away some enjoyability. Not having lyrics takes the replayability away a bit, but not bad at all, but I guess it is for this category (7/10)
Overall: 20 -> 20
you two killed it in the detour, but two poor roadblock performances dragged you down into last place. both of your teams will be getting speed bumps next leg

Leg 11: Sydney & MelbourneChallenge #1: Detour (Sydney)What is a detour? In these challenges, two themes will be available, and teams will choose to send a song for the one they feel more confident in. Be sure to specify which theme you are sending forDetour Theme: Harsh Storm or Name NormHarsh Storm: Sydney, like a lot of Australian’s major cities, is a coastal city. It borders a large ocean and is subject to plenty of different weather types. For this detour, teams must send in a song significantly mentioning weather. ORName Norm: The name ‘Sydney’ comes from a Lord alive at the time. This is common within Australia, as Adelaide and Brisbane were also both named in reference to people. For this detour, teams must send in a song with a person’s proper name in the title of the song. Challenge #2: Roadblock (Melbourne)What is a roadblock? In these challenges, only one member of the team can come up with a song to send. No consulting. You'll be on the honor system here. Send in your group pm who will do this road block. They will then without consulting their teammate see the theme and send the song in individual pms. tl;dr only one person sends a song, pick who that is in the group pms, then and only then they see the theme
TWIST: Yield Vote Every team MUST vote for another team to yield. If your team does not, it will be counted as a vote for your own team. Whichever team gets the most votes will receive a -5 penalty in the leg. This could be your last chance to take out a big threat, so choose wisely. Feel free to discuss who should be yielded/make your cases in the thread, but be warned that all votes will be made public. For reference and to help your decision, here are all the bonuses/speed bumps teams are getting: The Caged Nooks: +0.5 The Optimistic Cockroaches: +6, Speed Bump Team Jeff: +7.5 The 😎s: +0 The Tomato Haterz Squad: +1.5, Speed Bump
and for the Roaches and the Haterz, keep an eye on your pms for the speed bump Consult with your teammate and get your songs in within 36 hours or else your team will NOT have a song in that category and will get an automatic 0/10. Remember that you will be receiving a bonus based on how well you placed overall last week. You're always welcome to ask me and Mylo any questions you have! Good luck everyone!

Leg 11 Songs:Challenge #1: Detour (Sydney) Harsh Storm Songs: Carrie Underwood - Blown Away Rihanna & Jay-Z - Umbrella The Weather Girls - It's Raining Men
Name Norm Songs: Dolly Parton - Jolene Mike Snow - Genghis Khan
and joining us to judge this challenge is wob & nickd
Challenge #2: Roadblock (Melbourne) Theme: Long Life Living Melbourne has been considered the World’s most liveable city, and has a reputation for having its inhabitants live long lives. For this roadblock, you must send a song by an artist that was released when they were over 40. Any credited artist on the song must’ve been over 40, including every member of groups if chosen. Songs: Elton John - Candle in the Wind 1997 Frank Sinatra - That's Life Madonna - Hung Up Ozzy Osbourne - Mama, I'm Coming Home Sia - Cheap Thrills
and joining us to judge this challenge is Red & Beno
Speed Bump Since Samo and BB came in last place in the previous leg, their teams had to perform a harder task this week that will detract from their overall score. Basically, the scoring works that Mylo, our guest judge, and I will choose to subtract anywhere from 0 to 2 points depending on how we feel about the song. Theme: Infection Traveling all around the world constantly puts you at high risk for disease infection. For this speed bump, you must send a song that is annoyingly catchy and infectious, similar to how diseases are super infectious. Songs: Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe Dua Lipa - IDGAF
and joining us to judge this challenge will be MitchWolf - ChartStan

Bringing in their second straight team win (and third straight win for Gates) it's...1. Team Jeff (singingrulebritannia & jamesflame )Overall Score: 71.5Detour Rank: #3 | Roadblock Rank: #2Bonus From Legs 9 & 10: +7.5Detour Results:(Name Norm)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I mean like does anyone not like this song haha. Its super well written, and Dolly Parton is simply a fantastic singer. also the guitar work here is really nice. great track! (9.5/10)Mylo: This is a sweet discovery! Production choices are nice and the lyrics paint a very intriguing picture, I’m a fan. (7.5/10)Wob: I've always found Dolly Parton kinda overrated, her voice just sounds incredibly grating to me. I will concede this is one of her better tracks though. (5/10)NickD: (9.5/10)
Overall: 31.5Roadblock Results:(Sent by Gates)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: total classic and very timely to our current situation haha. but yeah it’s really hard to go wrong with Frank Sinatra, he’s just one of the all time greats, and I’d say this one is one of my favourites of his. (9/10)
Mylo: Talk about an unfamiliar name, I’m certainly out of my league discussing Frank Sinatra! Regardless, this is a super fun song! This totally surprised me, I don’t know exactly what I expected but this is a very solid tune, consider me impressed! (8.5/10)
Red: I almost want to give bonus points for including one of the words of the theme in the song choice. Impressive. You want to know where I heard "That's Life" for the first time? I heard it for the first time while playing Tony Hawk's Underground 2. In fact, I was introduced to multiple songs I remember fondly through that soundtrack: "Sonic Reducer" by Dead Boys, "End of the World" by The Living End, "Los Angeles" by X, "Lexicon Devil" by The Germs, and so on. It's a good soundtrack, is what I'm saying. The song itself is also good, really good. Frank knew how to sell a song in a way that few singers have been able to accomplish before or since. (8/10)
Beno: Frank Sinatra rarely disappoints imo, and this isn't an exception. I didn't find this one to be super memorable, but it was definitely a cool listen nonetheless. (7/10)
Overall: 32.5
After a quiet start to the race, you two have shown in these past few legs that you're the team to beat right now. You'll get a +4 bonus next round.

Overcoming a speed bump to land in 2nd place it's...2. The Optimistic Cockroaches (willapted33 & samo🦕 )Overall Score: 66.5Detour Rank: #1 | Roadblock Rank: #4Bonus From Legs 9 & 10: +6Detour Results:(Harsh Storm)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I guess this is good. I like the verses and the pre chorus, but the chorus has never done much more for me. it’s not that I dislike the chorus, it just don’t love how it flows. rest of the song’s good though (7/10)Mylo: Adore this song~ It’s so powerful yet controlled, awesome work! My favourite Underwood song, although others have contested for that slot. (10/10)Wob: Normally not a huge country fan but i do have a soft spot for Carrie and the darker lyrics on this track. Also a perfect fit thematically IMO. (8/10)NickD: (10/10)Overall: 35Roadblock Results:(Sent by Samo)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I really like this song. it’s very pretty, it tells a good story, and the piano work is truly masterful. I always love me some Elton, and while this isn’t his best work, it’s still incredibly strong. (9.5/10)Mylo: Nice to get a chance to hear a song that did as well as this one, I feel like most people above my age (or even plenty at my age!) know this one. I can’t say this does much for me though? It’s certainly decent and has a nice build-up, but otherwise I don’t really understand the massive success this received at the time haha. (7/10)Red: So I've never particularly been the biggest fan of this version of "Candle in the Wind". I get that the intent was in the right place when he remade this song after the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, but it never really sat right with me, because the original is one of my favorite Elton songs. I can't justify giving it a particularly low rating, though, because the base of the song itself is, again, one of my favorite Elton songs. (5.5/10)Wob: This is one of those songs that I find almost impossible to really critique, however I think I respect it a lot more than I actively like it tbh. I'm obviously not gonna deny just how powerful this song is though and it really does hit like a ton of bricks at the right times. (7.5/10)Overall: 29.5Speed Bump Results:Judge's Thoughts:Nick: My thoughts on both speed bump tracks are similar so I’ll just do them together. I think both songs submitted are really good, but I also think they fail to fit the theme. like they’re both nice, catchy tracks, but not the “annoying catchy” that I was looking for at least. (-1)
Mylo: This is honestly bordering on the line of being catchy but after listening to this song just a few hours ago it *still* comes into my mind so I’d say it counts. While this is far from Dua’s best it’s still a very nice song! No points lost for this speed bump~ (0)
Mitch: IDGAF is the weakest of the all of Dua's hits... Though I like all of her songs, but IDGAF could've been more robust (-1)
Overall: -2
After having a strong start, you two slumped around the middle of the game. However, you've seriously bounced back this past few legs to yet again become a frontrunner, and you'll get a +2 bonus next round.

Great streak right now. I never feel too sure in Pulse games though. Things could come crumbing down at any time, so I'm always on my toes.

Despite having a speed bump AND a yield against them, coming in third place it's...3. The Tomato Haterz Squad (BB🌕 & walt91 )Overall Score: 60.7Detour Rank: #2 | Roadblock Rank: #1Bonus From Legs 9 & 10: +1.5 (-5 from Yield)Detour Results:(Harsh Storm)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: classic. the chorus is super iconic and all, and this beat is just sick. Rihanna sounds great, and Jay-Z’s verse is a perfect opener. not too much to say on this one, it’s simply a great track. (9/10)Mylo: This is debatable to be about weather lol. I love the song but it’s a big stretch, technically you could use a song called gumboots in this thinking! The song is iconic and pretty solid though~ (7/10)Wob: An absolute classic that might still be the best thing Rihanna has done to this day (still holding out for that new album though). Jay-Z's bit is cool too. (9/10)NickD: (8/10)Overall: 33Roadblock Results:(Sent by Walt)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I’m not a big Madonna fan by any stretch of the imagination but I think this is a pretty sweet song. I really like the main riff and overall the song is just like infectious as all hell. not too much to say about this one, it’s just a super solid pop track. (9.5/10)Mylo: This is top tier Madonna! I’m struggling to think of a song of hers I prefer to this, it’s timeless whilst being nostalgic. This came out while I was just two but this still sounds so familiar. Nice pick~ (9.5/10)Red: If you're only aware of the fact that my favourite genre is rock music, you'd think that my favourite song in this particular group of songs would be something like "Mama, I'm Coming Home". Instead, this "rock poster" has a super soft spot for Madonna, especially Confessions-era Madonna, and ESPECIALLY "Hung Up". The choice to use ABBA's "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" as a sample is so incredibly inspired, and it helps to create one of the most awesome and catchy pop beats of the entire 2000's. I love this song so much, and in a universe where "Like a Prayer" doesn't exist, it would be my favorite Madonna song. (9/10)Beno: This is low-key a banger, I'm not really known as a huge Madonna fan but I really like what she tried doing here. It could've maybe benefitted from a shorter run time though, as I kinda feel like the song loses it a bit after the 4 minute mark, (7.2/10)Overall: 35.2Speed Bump Results:Judge's Thoughts:Nick: My thoughts on both speed bump tracks are similar so I’ll just do them together. I think both songs submitted are really good, but I also think they fail to fit the theme. like they’re both nice, catchy tracks, but not the “annoying catchy” that I was looking for at least. (-1)
Mylo: This passes with flying colours on both criteria. It’s an amazing song, but it’s also an explicitly catchy song haha. No point deducted! (0)
Mitch: Call Me Maybe is a simple tune by a simple singer..its a pretty good tune for its time..but today's listeners won't give Carly a chance (-1)
Overall: -2
Good on you two for overcoming everything that was working against you this round. You'll get a +1 bonus next round.

Just staying in the race it's...4. The Caged Nooks (tanooki & @doinktheclown )Overall Score: 59Detour Rank: #5 | Roadblock Rank: #3Bonus From Legs 9 & 10: +0.5Detour Results:(Harsh Storm)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is nice little track. it’s got some good energy and while you can’t take the song entirely seriously, it’s still pretty cute. it also happens to be THE song I though of when I saw the theme haha (8/10)Mylo: I love the choice of this song in a weather category haha, you’re not wrong so I can’t deduct points but it’s certainly a sneaky inclusion! Song is super fun too. (8.5/10)Wob: Never really vibed with this track. I get that it's an anthem for some people but it's way too over-the-top dancey for my liking. (3/10)NickD: (7/10)Overall: 26.5Roadblock Results:(Sent by Juggalo)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I could see some tanking this one’s ratings but it’s a really good song. Ozzy Osbourne delivers a stellar performance and I love the build up over the whole song, especially when those drums kick in. good stuff (9/10)
Mylo: Yes, I only know Ozzy from Take What You Want haha. Everyone has got to start someone there, and this is another baby step into the large pool! This has a cool, almost chill sound to it that works quite well. I like the vocals and the 90s production still holds up today. Cool! (8/10)
Red: Despite everything I said when I was talking about "Hung Up", I'm not going to act like I don't have a soft spot for "Mama, I'm Coming Home", either...though, really, it's more of a matter of having a soft spot for Ozzy's ballads. I love "Dreamer", which is not a stance everyone has, believe me, and I also enjoy this song. I wouldn't even say this is my favourite Ozzy ballad, let alone my favourite Ozzy solo song, but this is the biggest and most showy of all of his ballads. (7/10)
Beno: I really need to listen to more Sabbath material as I really like almost everything I've heard from them so far, especially in the Ozzy era. This song was for sure a change of pace after the other four songs here, and honestly it's a welcome one at that. I really dig this song, especially the small guitar flourishes around the chorus. This was a great first listen, and one I'll definitely be returning to. (8/10)
Overall: 32
Safe to say you've had a crazy run during this race. no bonus for next round but you're in the top 4!

Our unfortunate last place team is...5. The 😎s (MoD & DistrictTwelve )Overall Score: 53.1Detour Rank: #4 | Roadblock Rank: #5Bonus From Legs 9 & 10: +0Detour Results:(Name Norm)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is pretty cool. it feels a little too constrained, I think if there was a bit more bombast here (especially in the chorus) it would be even better. but as it stands, it’s a pretty solid song. 8/10Mylo: I didn’t even consider the usage of a song like this in this category but it fits haha! I’ve enjoyed this song since release, even if it has shrunk on me somewhat recently. It’s a simple yet unique song, It’s nice to return back to. (9.3/10)Wob: Hadn't heard this one before, and it was a pretty good discovery overall, even though the lyrics come off as obnoxious as hell. That beat and especially the chorus is infectious though. (7/10)NickD: (6/10)Overall: 30.3Roadblock Results:(Sent by D12)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: the version of Cheap Thrills with Sean Paul is a good enough, harmless, 7/10 song. however, once you’ve gotten used to the version with him, the version without him just feels so...empty. I just don’t like this version of the song much at all. (4/10)
Mylo: Here’s where my basicness is further exposed lol. Yes, I do love this song. It’s catchy and a nice lyrical setting I appreciate, albeit maybe overused. Listening to the other choices before this does sour my opinion on it, everyone else really brought their A-Game whereas this was a bit less of an interesting pick and not really one that holds up to today despite being the newest. It’s good enough? (7.8/10)
Red: At her best, Sia captivates me. "Cheap Thrills" is not Sia at her best. I wouldn't even say that it's Sia at her best after becoming a hitmaker. (Hi, "Elastic Heart"!) Is "Cheap Thrills" a bad song? No, not at all. But I have higher expectations for Sia, and "Cheap Thrills" just does not match those expectations. (5/10)
Beno: This song is alright and props for picking an Aussie here, but compared to some of her previous singles it honestly never clicked with me. I wouldn't skip it if it came up on the radio or anything but I can't say I'd ever seek it out on my own either, unlike "Chandelier" and especially "Elastic Heart". (6/10)
Overall: 22.8
Unfortunately, this was just not your leg, and I'm sorry to say this IS an elimination leg, and you two have been eliminated from the race. But hey, at least you finished in the top 5 on every single leg!

Leg 12: Auckland, Suva & HonoluluChallenge #1: Detour (Auckland)What is a detour? In these challenges, two themes will be available, and teams will choose to send a song for the one they feel more confident in. Be sure to specify which theme you are sending for Detour Theme: Down South or Volcano’s OutDown South: New Zealand is home to the most southern capital city in the world, Wellington. For this detour, you must send a song from an artist born in the southern hemisphere. For collaborations, bands and groups, every credited member must have been born in the southern hemisphere.ORVolcano’s Out: There are around 50 volcanoes in the Auckland region! Many of the volcanic cones are still visible too. For this detour, send a song mentioning a geographical feature in its title.Challenge #2: Intersection (Suva)What is an intersection? An intersection is a challenge where two teams must work together to complete a challenge. For this game, teams will be decided based on the previous leg's results, with the first and last teams being paired together and so on. The teams will receive the same score for their performance together, but will complete every other challenge as normal. Here are the Intersection teams:Team Jeff (singingrulebritannia & jamesflame ) and The Caged Nooks (tanooki & @doinktheclown ) The Optimistic Cockroaches (willapted33 & samo🦕 ) and The Tomato Haterz Squad (BB🌕 & walt91 ) Intersection Theme: Fiji is often considered a safe haven, far away from politics and the wars that occur around the world. For this intersection, teams must send a song that performed well in a country other than the US, UK, Australia or Canada.Challenge #3: Roadblock (Honolulu)What is a roadblock? In these challenges, only one member of the team can come up with a song to send. No consulting. You'll be on the honor system here. Send in your group pm who will do this road block. They will then without consulting their teammate see the theme and send the song in individual pms. tl;dr only one person sends a song, pick who that is in the group pms, then and only then they see the theme Consult with your teammate and get your songs in within 36 hours or else your team will NOT have a song in that category and will get an automatic 0/10. Remember that you will be receiving a bonus based on how well you placed overall last week. You're always welcome to ask me and Mylo any questions you have! Good luck everyone!
