30. Climie Fisher - Love Changes Everything Wonderful little radio friendly song. Got a lot of Rod Stewart vibes from this one. I'm wondering if this duo produced any Rod Stewart songs like "Love Touch". Perfect 80's pop to my ears.
29. Marillion - Kayleigh I do not understand PULSE's definition of "cheesy'. I really don't. What is it? Lyrics about women? What some call "cheesy" sounds like well orchestrated , melodic music with great vocals to me. This is the only song by Marillion I charted , because it's the only one I knew of back then. Anyway I only gave it a #23 rank which goes to show how many songs I loved on this RD. It also reminds me a bit of Rick Springfield's "Souls".
28. Modern Talking - Brother Louie Now this one is a bit cheesy. Great music, and very 80's European NRG. FYI Italians who produced Ital Disco considered this fake Italo. I liked it tho. A lot like Fancy, but what the hell with that "brother Louie louie louie" line. That's where the cheese is squeezed.
27. Zapp & Roger - More Bounce To The Ounce Another song I really like but there are better songs by Zapp and Roger. This one is kinda simple and stays in that same beat which becomes testy unless you love songs with that particular beat. For instance I prefer the smoothness of "Computer Love" or the zaniness of "I Can make You Dance". Even "Doo Wa Ditty (Blow That Thing)" bops nicely and its fun. "I Want To Be Your Man" is for the ladies so its my favorite of the bunch.
26. Oran "Juice" Jones - The Rain This is another cool 80's funkaroo jam. I love how he kicks that cheating bitch to the curb in the music video. Over here we call those kinda hoes "Interesadas". Also that is what I call a cool rap.

Bad news - My top 2 songs have already been revealed. Good news - the rest of my top 10 made the top 25.

Love Changes Everything deserved better. Great song.
Otherwise, nothing too surprising to date.

Meanwhile song number 24 is a song that I expected to have a low SD, but it ended up having an average one. It's an inoffensive song that isn't really boring and wouldn't really expect people to rank it low, but a few people did put it bottom 3 and 4 people ranked it top 10. Not surprised at a few certain people who did rank it top 10 though.

Next up at 23, the highest standard deviation of the rankdown. Now it has no number 1s or last places, but it has no ranks between 15 and 26. This song was usually in the top 15 and even a brief time in the top 10. Started getting out of the top half near the end. It was mostly in the top 5 highest SDs but it took the lead at the highest SD near the end and stayed for a while. 7 people ranked it top 10 and 9 people ranked it bottom 10. What song could this be?

Song 22 is a high SD too, the 3rd highest. This song has a 40 rank and 5 other bottom 5s making it a total of 6 bottom 5 ranks. It also has 5 top 5 ranks. This song was also usually a high SD, peaking at 2nd highest a few times. It was mostly in the 5th and 6th highest SD positions but its placement was usually around the same place in the middle. What song could this be?

23. Bow Wow Wow - I Want Candy
Points - 487 Average - 22.136 SD - 13.47765507 (Highest SD)
Not surprised at all to see this as a high SD. Can be viewed as a guilty pleasure to a lot of people while others can find it really annoying. I fall in the guilty pleasure route. Really catchy and fun.
HEATHENSThis is definitive 80's

We will end today with a lower note. The last song to miss the top half beat It Takes Two by 1 point and barely missed out on being the top 10 lowest SDs. It only has 2 top 10 ranks with the highest rank being an 8 and only 4 bottom 10 ranks but 2 of them are bottom 5.

this is βtooβ weird...I get 2 PPPPPs at 22, here w/ βIt takes Twoβ & in the concurrently revealing 1992 rankdown w/ βToo Funkyβ
not only that, but those reveals were immediately followed by two of my favorite songs at #21 which have titles that mean the same thing, one entitled βDonβt Goβ & the other βStayβ
this is clearly a sign, but from whom? the Black Lodge, the White Lodge, K.A.O.S., Control, the Smoking Man or the Illuminati???
regardless, the message seems clear: quarantine in place!

Coming late to the reveal party, so I'll start sharing comments from 40-31 (sorry for a slight derail!): 40. They're Playing Our Song (33): Nice discovery! I like the freestyle beat with bits of harder sound. Definitely not a contender of my bottom 5 39. I Need Love (40): This type of NKOTB, Mili Vanilli sound has aged like milk. I didn't know that LL Cool J had also recorded a song with this beat. I'd rank the other artists' singles higher than this. Sorry. 38. Words (15): This was a hit back home, and has had some good rotation in radios playing 80s music. When I first heard it in the early 80s, I thought it was Eurythmics. I love the synth sounds and the very nostalgic melody that makes me daydream, and enjoy a sunset drive. Far too low for this great piece of sophistipop. 37. Live Is Life (12): This was a BIG hit back home, reaching the top of the charts in several pop radio stations -and in my personal chart. A great singalong melody and nice music underneath it. A similar song in Spanish was also a big hit around that time, and many DJs inaccurately said that this song (Fausto's Susana) was a sort of cover of LIL. The truth was that Susana was a Spanish cover of an earlier 80s Dutch hit by VOF de Kunst or The Art Company that was the inspiration behind LIL! 36. Cutie Pie (35): Nice beat that feels it's been sampled many times. Melody is ok, though, I wish it had gone somewhere, and it drags a bit. 35. Clear (31): VERY cool and forward-looking instrumental. I discovered it thanks to Missy. I could've ranked it a bit higher, but I had more attachment to my top 30. 34. Felicita (26): Pretty good song in terms of melody, music, and vocals. A popular hit back home. However, my favorite Al Band & Romina song was Abandonate 33. Freak-A-Zoid (37): This was ok, some nice beat, and funny with the robotic sound, and with melody that seemed to be inspiration for some Janet Jackson of later The melody wasn't that catchy to me, though, and the robot sounds start to get grating halfway through the song. Clear bottom 5. 32. Supersonic (28): This was fun rather than funny, and a pretty good rap and pop combo. I hadn't heard this till I heard Fergalicious, though (and I admit I like Fergie's a bit more) 31. Living In A Box (36): I love most sophistipop and many synthpop songs with brass sounds, but songs like this or Walk the Dinosaur were the exception to the rule.

25. Harold Faltermayer - Axel FClassic little synth melody, but not much more beyond that. I love how they insert this song on all those 80's classic compilations. 24. Cherrelle f/ Alexander O'Neal - Saturday LovePretty decent for 80's R&B. Kinda saturating but not too terrible. I like the instrumentation of the song, but it tries to hard to sound too adult like. I also don't like Alexander O'Neal's vocals too much. 23. Bow Wow Wow - I Want CandyThis is strictly for the 80's New wave freaks. Those of us who eat, sleep and dream 80's. This band stemmed form Adam and The Ants and gave petals to Culture Club. If you listened to KROQ back in the day then you know this song. First time listeners will probably think it's hokey, but to each their own. Interesting fact about their lead singer being only 13 years at the time caused big havok during promotion photos, but the producers got around all that and they were still pretty big in the U.K. The incredible thing about this song is that it was all over the radio back then and somehow missed the top 100 yearly RDs. For me it's one of my favorite songs and music videos of the 80's. The percussion on this song is amazing. 22. Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock - It Takes TwoIt takes two to annoy the hell out of me. 'nuff said. 21. Yazoo - Don't GoThis one barely misses my top 10. The synth melody is mesmerizing enough to fall into High Energy genre. I think a band did cover this in Eurobeat fashion. Anyway this classic synthpop song was robbed. The 80's synth haters are showing their ugly colours once again.

I like a lot of Modern Talking songs. I do too. I know some of their songs were a bit samey sometimes, but what can you do? They were really catchy and fun. I liked the 1998 reworkings of a few of their older songs more than the originals. 24. Cherrelle f/ Alexander O'Neal - Saturday Love Fun fact: Some of the vocals from this were the basis for the early 2000s club hit "My Feelings" by Junior Jack.

I'm happy with this set. "I Want Candy" and "It Takes Two" are alright, but I didn't like them quite as much as a lot of the others in this list (and I definitely did hear the former before this rankdown). I don't get how my #39 is still in, though. It just feels plain to me, and I didn't expect people to like it that much.

Song number 20 is a very interesting one. This song started off okay as it was top half in the start then it started falling a lot and at one point spending a brief time in the bottom 10, then it started to climb again a lot and barely making it top half at the last second by only 2 points ahead of 21. This song so far has the highest lowest rank loss at 36 and it also has somebody losing their number 1. What song could this be?

Song 19 was the first song to have the highest standard deviation when I calculated then after that it has usually been in the top 10 highest SDs, usually in the 6 to 10 range. It ended up finishing with the 9th highest SD. Someone loses a 40 and 2 others also ranked it bottom 3. This song also has 3 top 5 ranks, but none of them are 1s.
