5. The Cure - Just Like HeavenA classic song, but there are about 10 other Cure songs I'd rank above this one. "Love Cats", "Inbetween Days", The Walk" , Boys Don't Cry" and so on... 4. New Order - True FaithHere is another classic that has suffered a bit with me for overplay. So many great hits from the band and yet KROQ and 91x seem to only be inclined to play this one. Even "Blue Monday" was put on the side lines after this one was released. At least this means H-NRG New Order could be #1. 3. Rick James - Super FreakOne of my favorite R&B Funk jams ever. Right up there with "Ladies Night", and "Jungle Love". Putting all my chips on my favorite New Order jam ever!!!!! Drum roll..... 2. Pet Shop Boys - It's A SinWow! Another Synthpop classic. HRG wins on both counts. Pet Shop Boys did in fact got there start with NRG producer Bobby 'O,' and they always kept the NRG vibe through out there career. The buildup to the outro is amazing. 1. Bizzare Love Triangle Yes Hi-NRG prevails! There were quite a few remixes for this song too. This song galloped straight into my heart when I first heard it. I love the lyrics too because they are about relationships and love and breaking up. basically about a chick, which are my favorite type of lyrics anyway. For some reason I always loved the intro of this version, and i have the extended play on 12' as well. i figured this one might win, but I was always going to be true to myself and choose "Living On Video". @slipperyslope Great rank down and great set of songs. Looking forward to part two. I don't think it was you, but someone promised some Vixen in a future rank down so I'm just waiting for that one.

5. Just like heaven (5): this was a hit back home, following the big success of Why can’t I be with you. It’s always been one of my favorite Cure songs. I love the nostalgic melody, the lush instrumentation (that combo of guitar, drums, strings and piano) lush and that dreamy, heartfelt vibe produced by music and vocals. A gem. 4. True faith (9): This song wasn’t popular in the 80s back home. BM was the first minor hit, then BLT was bigger, and then BM came back to get even bigger. I only learned about TF thanks to a music video tv channel where I watched and heard this for the first time. And I loved it. Sort of a modern sophistipop sound, with great synth, guitar, percussion, and overall strong melody. 3. Super freak (8): a classic funk, disco pop that synthesized the best of this rhythmic transition period, with great vocals, solid instrumentals and strong melody. I even like U can’t touch this enough thanks to this melody. Speaking of the melody, I’ve always found this and Der Kommissar sharing very similar melodies but apparently that’s just a coincidence. 2. It’s a sin (3): one of the most dramatic synthpop songs ever. I loved it since I first heard it. Not only the beat hooked me up, but also all the effects and sounds (thunder, choir, organ, strings) and of course dramatic vocals. It reached the top of my personal chart and one of my favorite songs of the year. Later on I paid attention to the lyrics and increased my appreciation to the song. Although I had liked West end girls and Tonight is forever, IAS was the song that made me start the path to become a PSB stan. 1. Bizarre love triangle (4): this was huge back home. Interestingly, the Shep Pettibone 12” mix was the most popular version (sometimes cut in the bridge tho), which I also love and prefer. A personal chart topper that made my year end top 15, and has continued receiving lots of play from my side. This was a great rankdown!!! (And one of my best performing ) Thanks slipperyslope for hosting :)
