I totally agree! I was surprised that it didn't compete for the top 5 :(

Our first #1 rank leaves next - any guesses as to what that might be?

Oh I didn't realize this was kicking off already! Not too surprised by any of the reveals thus far other than maybe "Better Your Heart Than Mine" if only because it was a single. The song has grown on me ever since Trisha's artist rankdown and I enjoy it more now that I ever have previously, but even then the song just barely escaped the bottom 5 there so I suppose it was never going to be a strong top five contender here either.
I wish I enjoyed "Mr. Radio" more as it seemed to have its share of fans amongst the group, but this was the one song that kind of stood out to me as one that didn't quite fit in with the rest of the album. I just didn't find it all that memorable and never really seems to go anywhere.
I had no idea that Trisha first recorded "If I Ain't Got You" because I've only ever been familiar with Marty Stuart's version which he recorded for his greatest hits compilation in 1995. I did like Trisha's but I remain partial to Marty's (although I'm sure that opinion isn't shared with y'all lol).

Okay ngl, I preferred the Marty Stuart version tim posted! Just the right amount of energy. 🤠 Happy with this top 5 even thought I think I still have a last place lurking around. 😬

I think you mean #5 lol...either way I'm glad this made it into the top five because it's such a standout and is easily one of my favorite songs from the album. If anything, though, I wish this had at least made the top 3 because this also became one of my all-time favorite album tracks from Trisha.

Haha yeah sorry....it took me a minute to get it straightened out, lol. Should straighten out that last place ranking while you’re at it lol. Honestly though this is such a gorgeous song and a perfect example of why this remains one of her most underrated albums.

I actually genuinely liked most of this album (and was surprised at how much given that several people told me the album was horrible, lol). Sad to see my #1 was so low. I figured it being a single it would at least make the top 5. I liked it much better than the title track, too. :(

I didn't find The Song Remembers When to be as bad as some people were making it out to be, but the title track was the only track that I think can hold its own among a group of Trisha's strongest songs ("Walkaway Joe", "She's In Love With The Boy" etc.).
Now onto Jasper County... rooting for "Georgia Rain", one of the best songs of her career!

"The Song Remembers When" has never been one of my faves from Trisha, so again, was kinda surprised to find a lot of songs on the album I enjoyed. I'm clearly in the minority in not really caring for that song much, though I admit it grew on me doing this rankdown vs. my thoughts on it when ranking her singles catalog where it only just escaped my bottom 10.

It comes as no surprise that the title track is the runway winner for the rankdown as it is without a doubt the best song on the album and quintessential Trisha. It would’ve been even more epic for everyone to have put this in their top two, but alas there always has to be one (yes you .indulgecountry ). I do remember this album getting quite a bit of press back during its release and therefore it actually kind of caught me by surprise to learn later on that only two singles were released from it. As underrated as I think this album is I’m not sure there’s much else on it that would’ve fared any better on country radio, so therefore that may be the reason MCA opted to move on. Nonetheless, it was such a pleasure getting to revisit this album and we all appreciate the host someguy taking us back down memory lane!

I'm so glad that you were able to revisit the album with a positive mindset. BackwoodsBarbie said the same thing. :) Just waiting for taylor's list, and then we will dive into Jasper County.
