I really like this. It doesn't top Torn and after a couple listens, not "On Somebody" either but it's really good! It could do something if promoted properly. I think it's a really good way to open her era. It's like... her exactly.
Also the acapella moment at the beginning is EUPHORIC. I just know live performances of this would go off so hard.

The chorus being laid over a build-up that never explodes was a choice and keeps me from stanning full time. The intro is HEAVEN though.

The problem is that the ideas are good. Good chorus, hooks, good verse melodies etc.. but itβs badly executed, the production sounds dated and lacks energy.
Itβs kinda the same thing that happens to all her singles, a bad execution kills all the good ideas put into the song.
A shame... cause FMO, Torn, Salt, OS... All have great melodies.

I was literally about to post the exact same thing. It's identical to Bon Jovi's melody, especially the chorus. With that being said, this sounds AMAZING! Hopefully this one will be the deserved follow-up hit to Sweet But Psycho. Still baffled they didn't really push So Am I, or give an actual release to Salt or Torn. |

I like Ava, but Iβve never understood all the Gaga comparisons.
This is a cute bop. Will make for some fun dance club remixes and I think can likely do well on radio. Iβd like to see something new from her though... her songs kinda all feel like reworked versions of themselves (this isnβt a complaint, sheβs clearly working on her own sound, which is smart). Sheβs ultra talented and probably needs new producers to βelevateβ that sound and push a few limits. This song is a step in that direction.
Edit: the lyric vid is great!!
