Has "The Box" been dropping in points? Yes. via Simmnfierzig's weekly early predictions, February 5 - 470 points (192 point lead over Life is Good) February 12 - 445 points (155 point lead over Life is Good) February 19 - 428 points (110 point lead over Life is Good) February 26 - 387 points (66 point lead over Life is Good) Is the supposed filmed music video even coming at this point? It seems weird they would wait so late in the chart run, regardless of waiting for competition.

The Godzilla challenge just reminded me of how much I hate the third verse and how it's a perfect of example of speed not meaning quality.

I think he has a good team around him that knows to wait till it's absolutely necessary to release the video. That's the smart thing to do to give him the best chance to stay at #1 for as long as possible because I don't see Roddy getting another #1 hit once the heavyweights start rolling out their singles. At the rate the Box is dropping in points, Life Is Good may overtake it for #1 as early as upper week Monday if it holds well enough and the video for The Box doesn't get released by Friday.

Really hope all of The Weeknd's singles become hit songs this year because three songs perfectly reflect all three phases of Abel's career.
After Hours - Trilogy: the dark moody atmosphere and detailed writing, plus the textured instrumentation from Illangelo Heartless - Beauty Behind the Madness: the commercialization of Trilogy's sound with more hip-hop grooves Blinding Lights - Starboy: the retro throwback to 80s acts like Michael Jackson and new wave bands

The Tiktok Monkey's Paw is really bizarre sometimes with who it chooses to promote. You want more rap songs from underground artists? Sure, here's a song by a white rapper who talks about wanting to f**k cartoon animals. You want more lo-fi music in the mainstream? Sure, here's a Christian rap song that samples a Beabadoobee lullaby from 2016. You want more poetic spoken word artists in the mainstream? Sure, here's a song that sounds like Hobo Johnson made Just Give Me A Reason. not that i'm complaining, just that it's weird and we should stop predicting anything that the zoomers do I only know "death bed" between the three you mentioned lol

I'll admit, at the start of the video, when a person has their back to the camera, I thought it'd be Taylor in a suit when the person turned around but then it turned out to be someone else. I thought he looked funny, especially in the train smoking the cigarette and I had my suspicions throughout the video that the guy was Taylor. Imagine the closure I got at the end of the video when it's revealed that the guy is actually Taylor in makeup.
Nice video with sharp, bright colors, but it's kind of flat and I got tired about a minute in. After the videos for ME!, You Need to Calm Down and Lover, I guess I was expecting something a bit more exciting and interesting.

Hopefully the promo cycle for this song means that Cruel Summer will be rolled out as the cycle’s Delicate around April

After the videos for ME!, You Need to Calm Down and Lover, I guess I was expecting something a bit more exciting and interesting. I mostly agree. I have to say, the make-up for Taylor was so good that I actually that it was a male actor and that Taylor was just a side character. I was also expecting something more considering there was much hype about the fact Taylor herself was directing the video. I feel that all her past four music videos - this one included - seem to emphasis color and brightness over everything else, and while that might seem like a good idea on paper, make everything stand out, with the exception of the Lower music video, all of them seem really overly gaudy and plastic. All of them are shot and feel like mid-tier 3D animated movies, except none of the action scripted are cartoonish or exaggerated enough to fit that tone.

Hope The Man re-enters the Hot 100, I doubt that it can do better peak-wise than it's already has.

Cruel Summer in may, Afterglow October and IFTYE in March 2021. I'm a minority here, but i only like YNTCD from the singles so far 😛😛

I thought the video for "The Man" was very predictable, in that I guessed long ago that this is what she would do. I'll admit midway through the vid I thought 'oh wait, no, that's not actually Taylor' (it was when I saw the guy's beefy, hairy legs when he was playing tennis), which disappointed me, but then it was Taylor after all. But yeah, it got old fast.
Also, am I the only one who was instantly reminded of Serena Williams when ManTaylor broke the tennis racket? Kind of ironic.

Say So isn't bad but my problems with it haven't gone away. In that, if you gave this to other acts like DRAM or H.E.R. or any other R&B who've dabbled in disco, nothing would change. Her earliest song - So High - had a similar problem and I was hoping that she had grown out of that style since then because she has shown more personality than just "really sexy thicc girl".
