Kicking off the rankdown is one of Tanya's least successful singles from the 80s, "Daddy and Home", which fizzled just inside the top 30 on country radio in mid-1989 (reaching a peak of #27). Despite not receiving a last-place ranking, this was actually the most consistent last-place contender for all but two submissions (which will be shown later in the rankdown), even with near top 40 efforts from castleoblivion26, .indulgecountry, and taylor.

Oop, no perfect rankings for last place is unusual, but I'm glad to be the closest!!
"Daddy And Home" is not bad. It is a pretty touching tribute from a daughter to a father. The whole thing is just kinda forgettable though compared to a lot of this list.

Covered by several artists, but made famous by Joe Cocker in 1975, "You Are So Beautiful" was even less successful in 1977, barely making the top 40 way back when. Unfortunately, we not only witness our first top 40 loss here, but also a top 20 loss from bboat11. This'll be a wild ride for everyone indeed, so don't expect smooth sailing for everyone involved; I even lose a couple of my top ranked songs pretty early. :'(

Third verse, same as the second? Anyways, we chop off another cover, this time a cover of the Buck Owens hit "Love's Gonna Live Here" with Jim Lauderdale on BGVs. This served as the only single from her covers album entitled My Turn in June 2009. Sadly, the song didn't chart. taylor now loses her first top 20, which also serves as a near top fifteen and George Strait Junkie loses his first top 40, which is also near his top 30.

Would've been great to have some pre-reveal questions if only to refresh my mind on the songs in the rankdown, but nonetheless I'm glad this is underway!

not even Martina McBride can make me enjoy "Love's Gonna Live Here". I hate that song and it was an easy bottom song for me. I forget what I had at 70 but glad this one is out now

Starting to think bboat11 and taylor's lists must have been reversed when you entered them because...

Sorry for the delay guys! Trying to catch up on other rankdowns and things! We return to the early 80s with a slightly more successful song with "Baby I'm Yours", this time missing the top 20 on the country charts in 1983 by peaking at #22, coming from her only studio album with Arista Records. Another cover, Barbara Lewis was the first to record this Van McCoy penned song in 1965, peaking at #11 on the Hot 100 and #5 on the R&B charts. Coincidentally, bboat11's rank is just one off from the country chart peak, with George Strait Junkie not too far behind.

Uh-oh...rounding out the bottom five is one of Tanya's top ten hits that did not make the top three on the country chart. Anybody wanna guess which one it is? {Click here for the choices!}Delta Dawn Love's the Answer The Man That Turned My Mama On Don't Believe My Heart Can Stand Another You It's a Cowboy Lovin' Night Texas (When I Die) Pecos Promenade Can I See You Tonight Feel Right It's Only Over for You Call on Me Don't Go Out It Won't Be Me If Your Heart Ain't Busy Tonight Tell Me About It Hangin' In Little Things

Well it can't possibly be "Delta," "Texas," or "Pecos" so...

Peaking at #7 in 1977, "It's a Cowboy Lovin' Night" was the most successful single from Tanya's seventh album Ridin' Rainbows. It also reached #2 on the Canada RPM country chart. How do you think the other singles (the title track and "Dancing the Night Away") will fare? Meanwhile, tim scores his first p-p-p-p-perfect ranking! As I am to get through the bottom ten tomorrow, we will encounter our one and only three-way tie! Just for kicks, anyone wanna guess how long it'll take before someone loses their first top ten?

I like the sentiment of "Daddy And Home" but it's just so painfully boring.
"You Are So Beautiful" is an okay song, but I actually don't care for Tanya on it.
"Love's Gonna Live Here" is a good rendition of the song, but she didn't make it her own enough for me to rank it any higher.
"Baby I'm Yours" falls more towards the boring side of things again. Not a bad song though.
I love "It's A Cowboy Lovin' Night" such a classic sound to it. I see how it could not be everybody's style so it got some low ranks. Would've liked to see it make the top 50 at least.

Clearly, "Love Knows We Tried" didn't fare too well here as it did back in 1981, peaking at #40 on country radio both on the Billboard chart and RPM.
Next up is our three-way tie y'all! (broken by highest rank, of course ;) )

Peaking at #23 on the Billboard country chart (and #20 on the Canada RPM chart), "Greener Than the Grass (We Laid On)" can be found on some Greatest Hits compilation from the mid-70s as the song isn't affiliated with any studio album that I can find. I'm a little sad this one's out already tbh. Next, the top two rankers of "Grass" are also the top two rankers of this next song...
