Only major releases I can think of is “Stupid Love”, the kick-off to Lady Gaga’s new era, and new album “My Turn” by streaming force Lil Baby, which is definitely bound to set a bomb off on the charts.
Say So, The Man and On (by BTS) music videos were also released today. Let’s get this show on the road!

The music video was pretty basic for how big of an artist she is, the songs mediocre also. I really was hoping for something more, maybe Gaga will get lucky and the choreography will go viral on TikTok, thats the only thing that could keep it afloat imo. Still was hoping for more of an actual mini-movie with all the teasers, oh well.

How would a mini movie help her to chart higher? How would a dance video help her chart higher? I'm talking about a 4 minute video where she does something besides dance.. didn't realize this was the most strange statement someone could make. It's a basic video compared to most pop singer's standards for videos. |

I've listened to Stupid Love three times now and yeah, it's pretty mediocre. What it reminds me most of are the straightforward pop songs in A Star is Born, the ones made by Ally when she gets famous, and those songs were always my least favorite part and the least interesting and frustrating part of the movie. Like I don't know if it's meant to be parody or just straightforward pop pablum.
Music video's also pretty meh.

Gaga track is catchy and a grower at the same time but not the in your face type (so glad). Wasn't around for the 80's, but I do listen to a lot from that era, it sounds something like what the group "Erasure" would put out. I don't know how it will perform on the charts, but her going back to old eras was a good move. IMO be yourself.

Woah! Massive gain for Say So! Queen Doja Cat is coming for everything this year! I really hope she has a massive mainstream breakthrough this year. She's been good for a really long time and we need more women killing it in the mainstream space.

What I’m seeing from my queer little corner of the world is a lot of love for the new Gaga. Seems like a lot of people who were still kids/tweens when she debuted who are now adults are viewing it as an almost nostalgic return to fun pop. Reminds me a bit of the resurgence Madonna had in 98-2000 after doing a lot of “grown up” projects like a ballads album and Evita.
Personally I love it and am glad to have a pop song that feels fun. I didn’t realize until now just how much pop music has gone the serious/sad route for awhile now.
That said, I have no idea how it’ll be received by most people. It’s like the antithesis of Billie Eilish, who seems to be the pop standard-bearer right now.

Personally I love it and am glad to have a pop song that feels fun. I didn’t realize until now just how much pop music has gone the serious/sad route for awhile now. Fun pop is already making a return. 2018 was a horrible horrible year full of depressing songs but since then stuff has got a lot more optimistic. Don't Start Now, ROXANNE, Blinding Lights, Heartless, and BOP- all fun songs. I've been at parties playing all of these and they KILLED I’m imagining Stupid Love sounds better when blasted as well considering that’s the entire genre but after a couple listens it just feels like the worst aspects of fun pop |
