Besides Celine Dion having her top ten hit at the very beginning of 2000, she was out of the radar throughout the rest of the 2000s.

Ya'll are wrong about Adele. I think she's the only biggest artist of the 2010s that hasn't had her peak yet. Her next album and single will be insane.

Based on the Youtube views so far, Baby Pluto, Lo Mein, Silly Watch and P2 seem to be the fan favorites.

Sunday Best just hit the Top 10 in New Zealand Honestly The NZ charts have always been better and faster Supalonely is rising there quickly, likely being Top 15 there next week Say So is #5 there In the early 10s many artists would actually try singles in NZ first before promoting internationally, hence why ET went #1 there in January of 2011 already

Jesus is King and YHLQMDLG both realeased at irregular times and both showed up on the AM charts relatively quickly. It's been 16 hours since Eternal Atake released and it still isn't showing up on the AM charts at all....

That’s with only around slightly over half a day of tracking too, impressive
(Apparently it was only 8 hours of tracking? I thought the album came out around 11AM EST?)

Literally artists from the 2000s that were in their peak in the 2000s (examples usher, black eyed peas, Alicia Keys etc) fled out of the hot 100 rolling into the 2010s. the same will happen for the other huge artists that peaked in the 2010s. New stars arise, records get broken, old stars cease to exist in relevance. It’s the music industry. I don’t see most of the top 10 artists of the 2010s being relevant in the 2020s. Except rappers i guess cuz of streaming but it won’t have longevity on the charts. Ageism also exists (as a lot of these artists are getting older) I’m not sure these were the best examples. The black eyed peas released almost zero material in the 2010s and right now have a top 40 hit. Meanwhile usher had 11 top 40 hits on the hot 100 in the 2010s. Alicia is totally on point though

No one is big forever, Drake and Adele, it is safe to say have peaked. In Adele's case, 5 years between albums will eventually work against her. Even in Eminem's case, sure he has had songs blast into the top 10 for a week or two but the only major hits (songs that stay around awhile) in the last 10 years have been duets with Rihanna. Mostly agree except not afraid was a huge hit. It went to number one on the hot 100 and sold over 5 million and top 15 on pop radio.

Semantics I guess, 'Not Afraid' was May-2010, so yes you are correct given the way I typed that. I should have said "about" the last 10 years

EVERYTHING about your post is WRONG. How exactly are Adele, Drake and Kendrick no longer heavyweights? Do all artists automatically lose all their commercial appeal once their career hits the 10-year mark? Also, please explain how Roddy Ricch with ONE top 10 hit and Dua Lipa with TWO top 10 hits are now the heavyweights? How are Adele and Drake "past their prime"? Is this all because they haven't released music in a while? Your entire post REEKS of recency bias. Yuck. i doubt that drake, adele, kendrick, etc. will release anything bigger than anything they've already released. they won't have a bigger era, and their relevance will begin to fade as people like roddy ricch and dua lipa take over and become the new massive stars. Not having their biggest era doesn’t mean someone has become a legacy artist, though, which is what this discussion was about. Madonna’s 90s albums weren’t as big as her 80s albums, but she wasn’t a legacy artist in the 90s.

The Bee Gees were the ultimate 70s acts that didn't get any hits in the 80s. Same thing with Boyz II Men, they were unstoppable in the 90s but didn't get a single hit in the 2000s. The Bee Gees were too associated with disco, which happened to die out in the late 70s. They did still manage a few hits in the 80s, though, as has been pointed out. Boyz II Men were already declining in 1997 as their third album was a huge drop commercially from the first two. Besides Celine Dion having her top ten hit at the very beginning of 2000, she was out of the radar throughout the rest of the 2000s. She was fortunate to have Titanic and “MHWGO,” though. The truth is she only had that 1 hit from LTAL. She was basically done as a mainstream hitmaker in the late 90s, but Titanic helped her stay relevant a couple more years.

I assume 34 million is a lot of first day streams but how good is that for Uzi?

I assume 34 million is a lot of first day streams but how good is that for Uzi? Amazing considering Post Malone had 39 million first day for Hollywood's Bleeding with a full 24 hours.

The Box has finally been dethroned on US Spotify, with four Uzi songs above it (not including his songs with two versions, which may or may not be).

I would say the biggest problem with EA is the lack of hooks in the songs. Money Longer and XO Tour Llif3 were the reasons why people got into Uzi in the first place with his infectious hooks.

Pretty good, since I’m assuming he’s gonna get more streams on AM (as it is the way for most urban artists). Besides, the streams should increase tomorrow, to around 45Mish(?)).
ASTROWORLD had 17 tracks and put up 40Mish streams in the US first day with a full day of tracking, Uzi should be slightly similar tomorrow, if not more since he had 18 tracks

The deluxe edition schedule to rekease sometime this week will also give him a boost. 300-350 million streams is probably what we're looking at.

There are hooks in the Baby Pluto part of the projects whilst the Renji and Lil Uzi Vert portions are more concerned with production and vibes. Like I'm not surprised the first few tracks are the ones getting most plays beyond tracklist placement, plus P2 for the novelty of getting a sequel to XO.

Baby Pluto debuts with 3.36M - an amazing 240k streams/hour. Obviously we can't assume that it would've done this if it was released at midnight, but 240k/hour in a full day is... 5.76M streams!
