Damn. Hamed and Vithor did that
Anyways, glad this finally will hit top 10 on Pop, this is way better than Stupid Love which sound so dated. Also seems like is finally passing Sunday Best, how is that song?? top 10 is beyond me

Feels like it has been #11 for ages. CHR really making Gaga stans work for that elusive top 10 hit.

Yesss at Gaga and Katy being in top 10 of Hot AC chart at the same time. Has it happened before? Katy isn't top ten on HAC. She just reached #10 on Billboard's Adult Pop Songs chart, which is similar enough. "Rain" is #9 there. Gaga has 10 top 10 hits there and Katy has 16 so it's certain they overlapped at some point in the 2010's. I'm not going to look for all instances, but even "Million Reasons" and "Chained To The Rhythm" seem like they might have been in the region simultaneously. Before that, in 2011, both enjoyed spring-summer domination so "Edge of Glory" and "Last Friday Night," among other singles, seem to have overlapped. (Can't view the old charts because I'm not a BB subscriber anymore, but these songs have their peaks in the Top 10 close enough that it's reasonable to assume they spent a couple weeks in the Top 10 together.) Yep, they were in the top 10 together on HAC with "Million Reasons" and "Chained to the Rhythm" from 3/31/17 to 4/28/17 (so that's 5 weeks). You don't even have to go back to 2011 to find another instance of them doubling up on HAC: "Roar" and "Applause" were top 10 on HAC at the same time in late 2013.

I can see this peaking around 90 million radio audience on Mediabase, which is where βShallowβ peaked. Iβll be surprised if it went further.

Thatβs literally because anytime Gaga announces sheβs releasing new music, Katy jumps in at the last minute and says she is too. For some reason Katy always seemed laser focused on chasing Gagaβs tail.

For some reason Katy always seemed laser focused on chasing Gagaβs tail. Since were using Million Reasons & Chained To The Rhythm as an example, MR was released November 2016, while CTTR was released February 2017. Iβm not exactly sure how 3 months is βright on Gagaβs tail.β And if you really are going to bring up that obnoxious Roar vs Applause scenario, that was 7 years ago and most of that was fueled by the media and stan Twitter. Theyβre friends now and itβs time that stans move on. Plus, like it was said somewhere else, both artists are at different points in their careers. Trying to pit these two against each other in 2020 is just sad.

Let's not forget "Million Reasons" wasn't even a lead single. If we're doing an apt single-to-single comparison, "Chained to the Rhythm" would be comparable to "Perfect Illusion,"which is even older than "Million Reasons." I also don't recall anything from the Born This Way and Teenage Dream eras lining up much either. Sure, their careers have had plenty of overlaps, but so do countless of other musicians.

Katy re-released a new version of βE.Tβ feat. Kanye a few days after Gaga debut βBorn This Way.β

Meanwhile Harry and Lewis are both gaining too it seems. Not only could it not go top ten but it could even drop to #12.

With half of the songs in the top10 falling, it cannot not go top10 even with Harry and Lewis getting there first

On the plus side, its bullet has increased a bit meaning it's gaining some traction. I think the path is clear for it to go top 5 on Pop radio. Hopefully it'll crack the top 10 soon though!

Don't get me wrong, I like it on first listen but it's nothing amazing yet. Which was the same initial reaction I had for "Stupid Love", and I ended up enjoying that song in the following months. We'll see if I end up liking it better when its run is over. I love this now.

It is a small detail but the best part of this song is Arianaβs βeh, eh, yeahβ that repeats twice before the end. This single handedly propelled my fondness for this song. I might even say it is my favorite Ariana Grandeβs 2 seconds in her entire discography. It just hits the critical pop chord sweet spot.

Thank god this looks set to pass Surfaces and Dua tomorrow, Lewis shouldn't catch up by Sunday so Gaga can still have her top 10 even with Harry passing her. :sip2:

HAC knows where itβs at. Thatβs the position it should be on CHR as well. Come on, Pop, you can do it! πͺ

Yeah, it's gotta be there on Sunday. ROM should pass Dua and Surfaces tomorrow, but Harry will jump over all three for #9, putting Gaga/Ari at #10. They just need to keep ahead of Lewis in the next update after that, which they should be able to do (barring any BS that radio may potentially pull).
