In Your Eyes really sounds like it should be a hit song. I'm still not entirely fond of the 80s-side of the Weeknd; I found the weakest songs on the album to be Hardest to Love and Scared to Live, but I actually really enjoyed In Your Eyes.

Prepare for Blinding Lights to dethrone The Box. I honestly don't understand why they are servicing In Your Eyes to radio already next week. I mean Blinding Lights is heading for number one now and has proven to be a slow burner all over the world. Releasing In Your Eyes early might either hinder Blinding Lights potential run at #1 or even worse, the succes of Blinding Lights might hinder In Your Eyes from taking off. I am very aware that Abel has succesfully used the "two big singles at once" strategy more than once (Can't Feel My Face/The Hills and Heartless/Blinding Lights), but going first Heartless and Blinding Lights at the same time and then In Your Eyes before Blinding Lights has even peaked may very well be overkill.

Probably in the Minority but I don't mind them sending In Your Eyes to radio this soon they are capitalizing on the success of Blinding lights/Heartless. I think they don't want another Secrets run again so let's strike while the irons hot.

gnash, Walk Off the Earth - Nicknames (feat. gnash) are they like the more obscure sibling of Walk the Moon?

They do decently on AAA radio. I think it says a lot about them, though, that their biggest hit is a cover of "Somebody That I Used to Know."

"In Your Eyes" is good, I'd be perfectly fine with it becoming the Weeknd's 3rd #1 off this album. Although, lol, "Blinding Lights" is so good, "In Your Eyes" same, why the hell was "Heartless" the lead single? Obviously it worked for them if it hit #1, but what a terrible song.
Love, love, love this return to 70s/80s sound for the 2020s. The Weeknd, Dua, Doja... but where did it come from? Who started it?

"Blinding Lights" has been #1 in virtually every chart I can find around the world, it has to make it in America. The US stumps me sometimes, 10 weeks into this whole thing and I keep forgetting what "The Box" sounds like, whereas "Blinding Lights" is heard all over.

On second listen, In Your Eyes is my SONG OF THE YEAR so far. The only songs that even comes close to it so far this year are Physical and Stupid Love imo. I think Rain On Me will also be a contender for me personally.

I think it's pretty clever to push In Your Eyes immediately, it's fresh so it's gonna have good streaming for some time while rising on radio, I do believe it can just swap with Heartless, Blinding Lights is pretty securely gonna be #1 this tracking week so a new song will give him dominance I see it debuting Top 10 tbh Every song is gonna be on the chart, maybe even Top 50? I think his streaming will be great

Blinding Lights is #1 on AM.
It's been 10 hours.
The versions aren't combined.
I'm scared.

I might be wrong about the combination but 2 versions are showing up on AM - the #1 blinding lights might be counting both the album and single or just the album but i'm p sure the 2nd is just the single

"After Hours" is a solid record - probably one of The Weeknd's strongest of his discography. Not to mention the 80's inspiration he picked up for this era.
The tracks that stood out the most to me are: "Faith", "In Your Eyes", & "Hardest To Love".
Also, I'm seeing reports of "In Your Eyes" getting serviced to Pop Radios to serve as the next single to "After Hours" which I'm really happy about because this song screams "summer hit" - definitely his next "The Hills". Still kinda worrisome that It's being serviced to radios so close to "Blinding Lights", only due to the fact that he is gonna get a little too over-saturated in spins judging how high "Heartless" & "Blinding Lights" both are on the airplay charts. Nonetheless, this is definitely one of my favorite records from Abel - and I'm super obsessed with "In Your Eyes", definitely deserves to have life on its own as a single.
My first week predictions for "After Hours" on the Billboard 200 would be about 550-620K units judging by bundling and his obvious streaming power (he will easily nab the biggest debut of the year so far). Ugh, this week is gonna be the most interesting week on the Hot 100/BB200 yet - and I can't wait!
