"The Box" had an amazing run at No. 1 and even though it's not one of Roddy Ricch's best songs, I'm still glad he got his first ever hit!
It's obvious at this point that "Blinding Lights" is gonna get that serious push to No. 1 next week - and it might as well even prevent "Don't Start Now" from No. 1 which is sad, but its also Abel here who I love seeing at No. 1 so its bittersweet.

Blinding Lights is #1 on AM. It's been 10 hours. The versions aren't combined. I'm scared. I love this! 😂

I see her at best having a mini album bomb, although I would love for her to do well and get that number one.

The Weeknd currently has 7 songs in the top 10 and 11 songs in the top 20 of Apple Music US. All 14 songs are in the top 35.

Dua still has that album on the way so she’s not out yet Hopefully "War Baby" will be released as a single from Roddy's album in the future Feel like Bacc Seat would be a better option as the next single, especially if they play their cards right and push it as a summer song.

i dont think this had as much as hype as lil uzi + shorter album so im thinking the same. bundles are definitely gonna push it over 400k tho This definitely had hype to it. If you went to his page on twitter during 2019 his comments were an absolute bloodbath asking for when the album is coming out. We’ve been waiting since starboy so this is easily a big thing

In terms of ranking the Weeknd's discography, I'd say it goes:
Trilogy > After Hours > Beauty Behind the Madness > Starboy >>> My Dear, Melancholy > Kiss Land

Will this album bomb be bigger than EA since The Weeknd is a bigger and well-known artist?

"Bacc Seat" is my favorite song off his debut album - I would love to see it get some life as a singe. Plus, it would be really smart to push it as the summer single - its a very mild and soft hip-hop song which works well for a radio hit.

I don't think The Box is gonna stop at 11 weeks. It has a 40% lead in chart points, so even if Blinding Lights is #1 this week (I'd say it's 50-50), The Box probably is returning to #1 next week.

I think everyone worried about In Your Eyes eating Blinding Lights just has PTSD from Starboy. They learned from the mistake that was every single after the title track's rollout. I remember being worried that Heartless would put Blinding Lights into the good songs dustbin along with Take What You Want, and they're both still in the top 20 despite him not promoting Heartless at all since January

I think After Hours is gonna do better in streaming because it's actually good.

Agreed that It would eventually return, but those YouTube numbers are taking a huge nosedive every week (which is the stronghold of its tenure at the top spot). "The Box" is precarious at this point, especially with its airplay wavering hard.

Will this album bomb be bigger than EA since The Weeknd is a bigger and well-known artist? The Weeknd is definitely a bigger artist, but Uzi had way bigger hype so I think Abel's streams will obviously be a little lower - BUT he will have the longevity that Uzi failed to nab with "EA", typically because it was so frontloaded and none of the tracks are sticking and/or getting any real pushes or playlisting.

^^its streaming is down to Ran$om levels, which are not enough to support a #1 if it doesn't have the other categories.

^^its streaming is down to Ran$om levels, which are not enough to support a #1 if it doesn't have the other categories. The coronavirus pandemic is the only reason for these sudden shift in streams. You'd think people being inside more would actually boost these numbers but its doing the exact opposite, especially with "The Box" as its slipping in every metric possible.

You'd think people being inside more would actually boost these numbers but its doing the exact opposite, especially with "The Box" as its slipping in every metric possible. 1. The Box has other categories. It's top 10 in all metrics. 2. It's actually gaining on U.S. YouTube Chart this week (+300k after six days). 3. It's losing 7% on Spotify this week. Blinding lights also lost 7% and Don't Start Now lost 9%. Every song in the top 10 of the Hot 100 lost at least 5.5% on Spotify, so losing 7% is really good for a song that peaked in January.

Dua's new single, "Break My Heart", is getting released 3/27 so expect Don't Start Now to have a final push to #1 before it goes to radio.

Dua Lipa is releasing "Break My Heart" as the third official single from "Future Nostalgia" Next Friday (March 27th) - and looking at it now, it might as well be serviced to US radios as her next single here. It is pretty risky to be rolling out so many singles before the album even drops, but I've seen this happen with Dua Lipa during her debut era where her team did the exact same thing - probably to milk out as much streams as possible for the album. Here's The Link

Also, Dua's sophomore album seems to be headed for a bigger debut than we think. She has partnered with Urban Outfitters and are giving away vinyls of the album all week - not to mention three active singles simultaneously helping to boost its streaming efforts.
