What the fuck! Listeners actually love and want to hear the song , but radio drops it? What the actual hell. Isn’t radio built for listeners? What’s the point then?

Yeah, this is crazy. Such an obvious radio smash. Still can't believe how wrong I was on this. I am getting too old to predict what radio wants to play apparently.

I'm honestly a bit surprised too, and I was never on board with this song. I think one obvious problem is the similarities to Blinding Lights, which is still massive on pop radio and I'd say a 'safer' pick for radios to play (even after all this time). I also think it takes too long to get to the real hook of the song, which is that post-chorus and the saxophone at the end. The verses and chorus lack that easy hook that Blinding Lights had for me.
That said, the callouts show it is actually more on radio than listeners necessarily. I do get their decision though, I think this was pushed too early. It could've been a single later or with a buffer single in between so Blinding Lights could've faded naturally.

I think this song is EXTREMELY remixable. I bet one could make a slightly more dancable version of this, speeding it up a bit and bringing in the sax hook already at the start of the song. Could work wonders actually. Honestly, if someone have the stems to the song I could do it myself.

Stranger things have happened. Let’s just move on already. What will his team do next to save the era. Everything kind of seems in limbo now and I’m not here for that. The “Starboy” era faded quickly too because his team fell asleep at the wheel after “I Feel It Coming.”

The “Starboy” era faded quickly too because his team fell asleep at the wheel after “I Feel It Coming.” the era doesn't need saving if you ask me. 2 #1 singles, one of which is currently atop radio still. if they push another song from the album, it might work. but we're in the streaming era, and album cuts-turned-singles don't fare well. wouldn't mind it if he remixed a song on the album or moved on to a different single. very successful era regardless.

I truly hope this sneaks its way into the year end somehow but it seems very unlikely Still an injustice that this got robbed of being a big hit
