Wow, for some reason I thought Kenny Chesney was still in this, but it turns out he was never even here 😂

I'm pleasantly surprised at Brad Paisley making the top 15 - probably will be out in the next 5 reveals but he came farther than I expected so I'm happy on that front :)

And I was catching up but I stopped at Tammy's elimination. Can't follow the rest.

Two of my bottom 10s (well three if you count Faith) are out but that evened out with my #3 getting eliminated. :( Can’t believe the country fans were the actual Axis of Evil in this rankdown Anyways, I’d love to see Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw and Shania Twain leave next but I won’t ask for much cause I know Shania is loved.

I'm quite suprised to see Little Big Town as high as they are considering the people that they're ahead of

Little Big Town - one of the most talented groups the genre has ever seen, from a vocal/harmony standpoint. I also respect how unique they are, though at times that is what holds them back. Their catalog is inconsistent for me.
Faith Hill - it’s been so long since she had a studio album from her, and that’s a shame. I always liked Faith even if I didn’t LOVE her like many other of the 90s women growing up, mostly because of some song choices. Her hits are huge and still get that country gold airplay.
Patty Loveless - for me, one of the best vocalists the genre ever saw. Such a true, stone cold country voice. Her singles almost all are favorites of mine.

I do love Shania but unbiasedly I hope she is in the Top 10 because when you think of the word “ICON” her touring legacy and the doors she opened for today’s women in country with the pop-country influence is basically what that word means, IMO. But I won’t be surprised if she’s gone next.

Oh totally. Shania is one of the most influential country acts ever. However I just can't get into her or her music.

Trisha Yearwood: I tend to like her sonorous voice but she definitely depends on songwriters a bit much. I like her big hits though which are a plus.
Johnny Cash: How dare you miss the Hurt cover in the description of his legacy?! That probably is the entry point for most that are unfamiliar with his music. The more I learned history of country music the less outlaw I think of him lol. I know outlaw country does not mean outlaw in literal sense, but man there are so many artists from that time that did more outlaw stuff than him.
Faith Hill: I think I have roasted her somewhere else so I don't want to repeat here, but she is my most hated popular 90s country women.
Patty Loveless: Partly due to unfamiliarity but I guess I will always be the only one who does not "get" You Don't Even Know Who I Am, so I may never like her much anyway.
Little Big Town: Yet another act that has a nice niche (a harmony group with 2 men and 2 women and also each member can sing lead well). Agree that their output is inconsistent to me, because I am only familiar with their 2010s output mainly. Too erratic in that sense to be a icon.

Trisha Yearwood If i had to pick one country artist who I would like to meet the most she would be my #1 pick. It's funny how I didn't like her music at first (or one song to be exact) - youtube kept suggesting me She's in Love With the Boy so I listened to it once and didn't like it and that was it for a few years 😂. Then I probably stumbled across her name on one of the list of greatest female country singers so I checked her out on wikipedia where it was written that "She is known for her ballads about vulnerable young women from a female perspective that have been described by some music critics as "strong" and "confident"." so I once again decided that that's certainly not a music for me 😂. Not so long after that I heard Walkaway Joe and then I listened to it for about 100 times more that day and since then I consider myself her fan. She has this amazing, strong, clear voice and she has great repertoire as well - I like her ballads the most (Walkaway Joe - one of my all time favourite songs; The Song Remembers When, You Can Sleep While I Drive, On A Bus To St. Cloud, There Goes My Baby, I Would’ve Loved You Anyway, Georgia Rain...) but she also has some great songs with a little more life in them (I Wanna Go Too Far, Inside Out, We Tried, Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love). I just wish she would release albums more often because she is just getting better with age. When it comes to her placement in this rankdown I would certainly like to see her higher but top 20 finnish is not that bad.

Oooh wonder who is going to miss the top 10. If I had to guess I would go with Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Kacey Musgraves, Alan Jackson (isn’t he super polarizing here for some reason??), and Sara Evans

I think Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Loretta Lynn and Kacey Musgraves miss the Top 10.

^ I agree with both of you. Alan, Brad & Taylor are very likely to miss the top 10. If I had to choose two more, I'd say Tim McGraw and Loretta Lynn too. Loretta is less likely to miss the top 10 though.

How much Kacey has accomplished despite the mountain country radio put in her way is amazing. <3

What's interesting about Kacey at least from my personal experience is that people who don't seem to like country music love her - I rarely meet country fans but I've met so many people who love Kacey. I guess it makes sense thinking about how her brand of country music is different from what people think of as "country music" and Golden Hour pushed the envelopes even further with songs like "High Horse" where she explored sounds that she had not previously.

But wait...what's THIS? A TIE?!?!?!?!?!?!? If you recall from last night, our #16 finisher, Little Big Town, also finished with 469 total points. We decided to break the tie by giving the win to the artist/s with the most #1s, which is why we see Kacey Musgraves leave first tonight at #15. She had two top-place rankings as opposed to LBT who only had the #1 from their biggest stan. Kacey is the winner of six Grammy Awards, including the award for Album of the Year in 2019 for her latest album Golden Hour, and all three of her non-Christmas albums have gone to #1 on the Country Album charts--which is a major juxtaposition to country radio's absolute indifference to her. There is no other way to describe it--they simply refuse to play her. Among the songs she's released that got half a spin, her most well-known are "Follow Your Arrow," "Merry Go Round," "Biscuits," and "Rainbow." Along with the two #1s Kacey received, her departure also sees the loss of twelve Top 20 rankings, four of which are Top 10s.

#eyeroll. If this was a list voted on merit....and not on Pulse, Kacey wouldn’t even be in the conversation of top 15. She beat SO many other female artists that have given more to country music.
