Tim McGraw Album 'Emotional Traffic' Due February 6th!

We got a list from pretty much all the tractors I was expecting, and then some! Thanks to everyone who pulled through in the last minute. :)

I'm fixing to start compiling the lists together and make the results! Till then, here's a few questions for y'all to answer. I'm curious to see how y'all think this will go.

2. What else will make up the top 5? Meanwhile Back at Mama's, Diamond Rings and Old Bar Stools, City Lights, and maybe Portland, Maine or Overrated. There SHOULD BE NO single bias with that turd Lookin' For That Girl
3. What will be last place (#18)? that turd Lookin' For That Girl
4. What else will make up the bottom 5? Other than Words are Medicine, no clue.
5. What will be the most polarizing song of the rankdown? Least? Most - maybe the Kid Rock song? Least - the turd or Shotgun Rider
6. What five album tracks will make the album track rankdown? City Lights, Portland Maine, Overrated, Dust and Last Turn Home. I'm pretty confident on the first three, no clue on the last two.
7. Any other thoughts/comments? This album did not flow well for me. While there were some very good songs on it, this is probably my least revisited of his albums. LOVE Meanwhile Back at Mamas.

6. What five album tracks will make the album track rankdown? "Overrated", "City Lights", and "Dust" are the three I am most confident about....maybe "Still On The Line"? "Portland, Maine" might sneak in there too, but I feel like that 5th slot is going to be pretty competitive.

7. Any other thoughts/comments? This was a very solid album, though I am hoping for a couple album tracks to make a significant dent in the top 5... Two of the singles slay of course, but the other two are nowhere near the quality of songs like "Overrated" and "City Lights"...

It's really something that a project which led with one of Tim's worst singles ever was then followed up by three songs that not only garnered critical acclaim and reignited his career for the last half of the decade, but also helped to further cement his status as an icon of the genre. It's also something that said song isn't actually the worst one on the album lol. I'm not really a fan of deluxe editions personally and considering that the album was already 13 songs in length, I'm not sure any of the deluxe tracks necessarily improved the album overall.

I forget that "Dust" seems to be a fan favorite. Maybe I need to revisit the song again a couple of more times, but it's usually on the back-end of what I consider the "best" album tracks. Anyways, I should probably amend my predictions to say it'll be one of the album tracks to make it.

My favorite album my McGraw. And SGR is his best song. Hoping my favourite 3 album tracks will do good (Black Jacket, Still On the Line, and Overrated).

Oh look, what a surprise.  Over half of the participants put the first single in last place! I don't think this is the worst thing I've ever heard but it's just so... generic? Atleast it gave us the excellent album title but it stings knowing what else the album had to offer and they went with this first. In the battle of Tim first singles that make Pulse seethe, I prefer Truck Yeah. 288 points has to be more points a song has recieved than any other rankdown I've hosted!

To be honest, "Looking For That Girl" has grown on me a LOT since it was a single.... It's actually kinda catchy, despite being a horrible single choice. A few years ago I hated it, and now I actually wouldn't even skip it if it came on. It was still an easy last place though based on the strength of this album.

We lose our first of the 5 deluxe tracks next! I honestly really like I'm Feelin' You when I'm listening to it and maybe underranked it here. :/ tim loses his last place!

The chorus of "I'm Feelin' You" reminded me SO MUCH of the chorus of Jo Dee's unreleased "Destroy The Evidence". Which is of course superior, lol, hence my lower rank for this one. Although this one has all the hallmarks of a song that might be hate-worthy at first that then turns into a guilty pleasure for me, a la "It's Your World" on Two Lanes of Freedom, lol.

I was sooooo going to compare it to It's Your World, but didn't want to look like I was grasping at straws.  I think me always thinking of It's Your World unless I'm *actually* listening to it is why it ended up so low for me.

Third out is our second deluxe track to leave us! This is one of the few SHT tracks that just blends together for me. Three more last places are lost, and I think we only have 4 left (since they all went to Lookin' For That Girl)!

Yeah, "Kids Today" is not that great. It's nice that it didn't end up being like a "kids today have it so easy and they should get off my lawn" type of song like it very easily could have, but it still got lost in the shuffle for me.

"Kids Today" is far and away the worst thing on this album for me. There's just something absolutely AWFUL about that melody and the terrible piano riff that plagues this song. Disastrous.

"Lookin' For That Gir" not only didn't really work as a Tim song (it really didn't feel like him), it was just way too boring. I guess it could've been worse but at least then it'd be memorable.

"I'm Feelin' You" is fine when it's on but it's one of the tracks I tend to forget about. Still a pleasant listen.

"Kids Today"'s worst aspect is the melody, but I like when Tim tries these type of songs that are just kinda left of center. I enjoy this one despite some very big problems with the song just because it's interesting basically.

We lose our third deluxe track next and this ones a stinger. I absolutely loooove The View! Definitely my favorite deluxe track. But I knew it wouldn't make the album tracks rankdown and this is about where I'd of expected it to leave us. Still stings! 😂

We lose the fun "keep your head up"/"everything's gonna be alright" inspirational type song next. Just keep on truckin'! But the trucks radiator has gone out and it's out of gas at #14. A handful of rankers also stole the tires off of it and stripped the inside. 😂 The truck is currently sitting on blocks. Another one I knew wouldn't do really well, but I can't help but enjoy it.

For me "Keep On Truckin'" isn't a bad listen, but it's just so been there done that. It added nothing to the album for me.
