Sometimes I just can't with you all lol "Can't Be Really Gone" is easily my favorite from this album. I figured it had no prayer of top 3 but to be lower than the title track is just wrong
At least "She Never Lets It Go To Her Heart" won as I love that one and its probably the only other song from this album I personally go out of my way to hear other than CBRG

I figured it had no prayer of top 3 but to be lower than the title track is just wrong I guess my view of the album has been clouded by my love for "Can't Be Really Gone", because I thought it at least stood a chance of making the top 2/3. It's long been one of my two favorite Tim songs, and among my top 10-15 songs of all-time. Such a beautiful ballad; I love the imagery, and the way Tim sings the verses is just perfection. Beyond disappointed to see it end up at #5, although this is a loaded album. "She Never Lets It Go To Her Heart" isn't what I expected to win, but it's not a bad winner at all. Such an iconic melody. |

This is another one of my absolute favorites that I've been itching to do since we opened the album series. I've been lookin' for that opening to set a date for this because country rankdowns are STACKED over the next two months (not that I'm complaining!  ) But instead of the usual 4 weeks we do for a Tim album, let's set it for Wednesday, March 24th. This album is Two Lanes of Freedom 2.0 for me, so many amazing album tracks that I hope y'all enjoy! This features the hits Shotgun Rider, Meanwhile Back at Mama's, Diamond Rings and Old Barstools, and the smash hit Lookin' For That Girl. Plus a plethora of top notch album tracks! Also any lists tanking Portland, Maine will be immediately thrown out lost in my DM's. 2/3rd's of these won't make the album tracks rankdown and it's one of like five songs from his discography that I can't accept not making it.  Also a small disclaimer for Lincoln Continentals, I know y'all HATE Kid Rock, but please rank the song and not him! 😂 It'd be tragic if it got last place over Lookin' For That Girl.Two things I wanted to remind y'all of, after this album I'll be opening a poll which album to do next! There's been a lot of asking about when we're doing Let It Go, Dancehall Doctors, Place in the Sun, etc. Y'all decide! :) And also reminding y'all that I'm planning an ALBUMS rankdown when all is said and done. There will only be a handful of us that have actually participated and ranked every album, but I still think the results will be fun for a quick rankdown. Remember taking a field trip in middle school to Portland, ME so I was excited to hear it. TBH I don't remember the song one bit now but will be fun to revisit it now along with finally listening to the rest of the album |

IMO, this is his last ‘great’ album. There’s nothing I actively dislike, including my last place. A few are a little forgettable, but overall it’s a really solid album. And another one where album tracks are, for the most part, much better than the singles.

This is honestly a really damn good album. I echo the sentiments around "Portland, Maine" being a great song, but there's an awful lot of those on this album. "Overrated" is one of my favorites, personally. "Shotgun Rider" is one of my favorite singles of his entire career... iirc I actually may have ranked it #1 on his singles RD when we did that a few years back, lol. I also will definitely not be tanking the Kid Rock duet as I think it's easily the best song on the deluxe edition. Such a jam.

I haven't felt nearly as strongly for Damn Country Music or Here on Earth (and certainly not the duet album) than I did for Two Lanes and Sundown Heaven Town. IMO you can tell when they stop actually spending money on good songs (and producers) for fading artists, eg: Britney's budget from Femme Fatale to Britney Jean. I was going to post this during reveals, but just gonna leave this article from a Portland, Maine newspaper here...  Portland, Maine... I don't know where that is.

Y'all can stay hating on Damn Country Music all you want, but "Love Runs" is most definitely going to be in my top 5 when we do the album tracks rankdown |

Sundown Heaven Town is such a strong album. It's probably one of the top three albums of his career. A couple of the bonus tracks were bad and obviously "Looking For That Girl" is awful, but pretty much everything else is really good. "Overrated", "City Lights", "Dust" and "Sick Of Me" all would have been hits and one of them should have been released as the lead single instead of "Looking For That Girl". At least they got the next three singles right with "Meanwhile Back At Mamas", "Shotgun Rider" and "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools".
