Martha Devine is a confusing to track me. At first I assumed Daddy refered to a lover but then I guess the bridge kinda implies it's her father which is way more boring and lame

"Hang in THere Girl" and "One Night Standards" are far away the best songs on the album

I pre-ordered this a couple months ago, but no idea when it will actually arrive now. I'm looking forward to hearing it whenever it comes.

This album is fantastic. I expected nothing less given how much I love her voice and Girl Going Nowhere. Early highlights for me are the lead single, "Sparrow" (absolutely gorgeous!), "Velvet Red," "Stone," and the title track. "Styrofoam" is the only song on this after my first run-through that I'm not a huge fan of. It's perfectly fine for what it is and mildly entertaining, but the spoken parts just aren't super enjoyable to me so I can't see it being a song that I revisit as much as the rest of the record. It feels a bit reminiscent of a Toby Keith track to me, though her delivery is thankfully much more enjoyable than what he would've done.

Absolutely love this album! I was pleasantly caught off guard by the chorus to "Voodoo Doll" and I love "Stone". The only song I'm not a fan of is "Styrofoam" and I personally could've lived without it. All in all this is a fantastic album; I hope this era is as successful as it can be!
Personal Standouts: "One Night Standards," "First Thing I Reach For," "Voodoo Doll," "Stone," "Martha Divine," "Never Will," "Shut Up Sheila," "Sparrow"

I’ve been spinning this album nonstop since it was released and it’s probably my favorite country album released this year. Assuming the CMA Awards happen in November this has to be right up there next to Miranda’s Wildcard as the only real competition.
Here are my favorites thus far:
1. One Night Standards 2. Sparrow 3. Hang in There Girl 4. Never Will 5. Stone 6. Martha Divine 7. Velvet Red 8. Shut Up Sheila 9. First Thing I Reach For 10. Voodoo Doll 11 Styrofoam

Album of the Year (if #7 is out in time--which even with this mess going on I think she's been working on a new one for awhile beforehand) and Female Vocalist, and ENTERTAINER OF THE F**KING YEAR...on a night celebrating men. It's the perfect revenge

2021 will probably be Eric Church and Carrie Underwood competing again...And the EOTY will still go to Garth Brooks :kii:

It's the perfect revenge At this point I think Carrie is bigger than the Female Vocalist award if that makes any sense...I can see that going more to the Maren’s or Ashley’s. I’m assuming they’re already gearing up for her next era which I’m hoping is much better than what they tried with Cry Pretty. But back to Ashley...although radio has been slow to warm up to her I think things will change for her as this album era progresses and I can see her having some success. I can foresee “One Night Standards” already getting CMA nominations for Song of the Year for sure with an outside chance for Single while Female and Album noms seem certain (fingers crossed).

Eric Church is no doubt gearing up for his next era and it’s obvious he want this really bad, so the competition between all three of them will likely continue over the next couple of years.

I got an email this morning saying that my pre-order of this was cancelled due to low stock. I found another way to order it, but it will probably be about another month before I get to hear this album :(

According to HDD, this has 9,895 pure sales and 13,380 SPS first week, which is an improvement over her last album (9k pure sales and 11k SPS).

My copy (FINALLY!) arrived today, and I listened to it three times while working from home (as well as one spin of Girl Going Nowhere first). I agree with everyone else in that this is a really strong album. "One Night Standards" is, of course, great and I do think it was the best lead single choice. I'm also really enjoying "Sparrow", "Martha Divine", "Stone", "Never Will" and "Hang In There Girl". I didn't care for "Styrofoam" so much the first time I heard it, but I have to say, it has grown on me a lot (though I still would put it as my least favourite on the album).
This is such a solid album. I would love to see her nominated for CMA Album of the Year later this year. I prefer Miranda's Wildcard and Brandy's Your Life Is A Record, but I wouldn't mind an Ashley win at all.

Ashley is seriously super talented. Damn, I am listening to this now and there isn’t a bad song in sight. She deserves all the success in the world.

This is great! It’s a shame Styrofoam was included, kinda leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Everything else is so solid! Think the title track is my favourite but honestly, apart from Styrofoam, everything is great! Definitely on par, if not better than her debut.
