I agree with this all around. Also, I got a lot of Michelle Wright vibes when I was listening to Shania's debut album and I'm wondering if you or anyone else hears the same thing (and I'm not just saying that because they're both Canadian lol)? I'm sure it was just by happenstance, but maybe because of the success that Michelle saw in 1992 they kind of wanted to adopt the same approach with Shania which just ended up not quite working out for her. Anyways, just a random thought I had! I get what you mean, their sounds were very similar so I could see whoever was handling Shania wanting to follow Michelle, maybe even because they were both Canadian. Lisa Brokop a year later I find had a similar vibe going on. Well other than I think Lisa had a bigger range than Shania or Michelle. It might have been the sound of the time? I hear similarities between this Shania album, but also Michelle Wright, Lisa Brokop and Patricia Conroy. I literally had never been bothered to listen to this album in full prior this, but I actually was impressed that it's a halfway decent album. I kinda expected less from it based on how little it did upon release and that it's not in the same musical style she developed & became successful with after this record, but I liked most of the songs!

I bought it after The Woman In Me, and was just really wanting more music from her. While I didn't like it anywhere near as much, it was a great addition to my music collection.
