 It's time for the Shania Twain Extras Rankdown!!!Over the past year, we've ranked Shania Twain's five studio albums, and now some of y'all might be wondering what else is left. Well, as with just about any artist, there are always a handful of songs that never were able to make any of her studio albums, for a variety of reasons: they were standalone singles, they were put on soundtrack albums, they were part of a tribute album, they were featured on someone else's album, etc. That's what this rankdown is for--every other song or feature appearance from Shania all put together in one rankdown, so that it feels like a separate album. And with Shania, she doesn't have many extra songs, so it's literally the length of an album! There are two songs that aren't available on Apple Music/Spotify. However, just clicking on the respective song titles in blue will take you straight to YouTube, where you can find the songs in question. It's quite an easy playlist, and is probably one of the most reasonably-sized Extras rankdowns ever seen, lmao. Four days now remain to submit lists! I'm still only at six. I hope to get to at least ten, but I'm gonna have to be a bit strict with this May 25 deadline. It's been pointed out in the Official Country Rankdown Thread that there's no shortage of open album series (someone just counted 17 artists, two of which are not currently present in the Submitting queue, who have either a one-off album due or an album due as part of a series), and I want Shania out of the way ASAP because these extras are all that are left before she can be removed from that number entirely. 1. What will be #1? Party for Two
2. What will be last place? White Christmas possibly? I could see it being between quite a few of these, but Xmas tends to do worse than usual in rankdowns so...
3. What will the Top 5 consist of? Party for Two, Hole in the Bottle, Endless Love, You're Still the One, and I Ain't No Quitter? This is hard.
4. What will the bottom 5 consist of? ... this is even harder! I think the Willie Nelson and Anne Murray duets are likely. Possibly both Xmas songs, and Today Is Your Day as well.
5. Which song will wind up being the most polarizing? Least? Most: Amneris' Letter | Least: Endless Love
6. How will the three Greatest Hits singles ("Don't!" "I Ain't No Quitter," and "Party For Two") fare in this rankdown? Where will they place? Party for Two is my guess for the winner, but I think it's at least a top 3 lock. "Quitter" could be top 5, but may just be top 10. I think "Don't!" will be the lowest of the three and I could see it landing in the like 8-11 range.
7. Which of the two Christmas songs will perform better? The Nick Jonas duet is VASTLY better, so hopefully it...
8. Kelsea Ballerini has consistently been a rankdown force to be reckoned with when "hole in the bottle" has been featured. How will her version with Shania do here? I wasn't a big fan of the Shania version, but it's still better than about half of this list and I know it's a popular song so I feel like it's gonna make the top 5 here.
9. Any other thoughts/predictions? Rooting for Party for Two to win because it's by far the best thing in this rather lackluster list, lol.

Good Lord y'all! I apologize for this incredible delay in getting reveals started. Alas, life has been hectic outside of Pulse and life will always be more important than even the biggest artists' rankdowns. That said, I'm gonna be off of Pulse for much of the rest of the summer beginning in July (I'll talk more about that at a later time in the Official Country Rankdown Thread), so it's beyond time for me to get these reveals going beforehand! I know it's not even lunchtime on the East Coast, but working third shift, this is the best time I have before needing to go to bed around noon or so lol. To likely nobody's surprise, we kick things off with "White Christmas," taken from Michael Bublé's 2011 holiday album, Christmas. This was recorded during a time when Shania was only just starting to get back to reworking her voice for singing after her troubles began with Lyme disease and dysphonia. Her voice in this song is painfully different even from some of the other songs on this very list, but still manages to sound great! She, however, couldn't save this song. This is actually the most recorded Christmas song in history, with over 500 different recordings of it since its initial release in 1942. As a result, it's the most boring Christmas song I've ever heard. To this day, nobody who records this song has ever managed to wow me with it--it's just too damn overplayed. This reveal easily answers the question of which Christmas song will make it farther...but how much farther will "Say All You Want For Christmas" be able to go?  |

Up next we see a cover of "Forever and Ever, Amen," taken from Ronan Keating's latest studio album Twenty Twenty. This song is most notable as being among Randy Travis' signature songs, as it was a #1 hit for him back in 1987. Nobody touches his version imo!!! There's just something almost magical about Travis' version, something Ronan & Shania just couldn't quite emulate. That said, it was still a solid effort and Shania sounded great, so I managed to put this in the middle of the pack of my rankings. Sorry to someguy who loses his #2 right on the heels of another Top 5 loss right off the bat! |

Next up is "Shoes," taken from the 2005 soundtrack to the ABC series Desperate Housewives, which ran on the network for eight seasons from 2004-2012. I don't see why this is out so early! It's such a jam; with an infectious melody and a hook that's catchier than a mosquito net!! This deserved much better than being trapped in the bottom 3.
