I always find curious how Drake is so HUGE outside Latinamerica but not in the same level here. yes of course heβs a well known artist but not on the same level of check name recognition like other anglo artists like Rihanna, Justin Bieber or Bruno Mars. In the Us, instead, he could be, arguably, more famous than them, HEβs the Artist of the Decade !!. He needs another Reggaeton colaboration with Bad Bunny (or J Balvin) to get more exposure here. Dura was huge but Bad bunny is so famous here (literally the drake of latam) he overshadowed everyone who is with him. Maybe he could do it alone but in spanish, heβs really capable of that! I dont want to insult Drake, i really love his music and I found toosie slide a cool song, but i really need him to be more famous here, when I talk to someone about Drake they tell me Who? Im so frustated speaking of Bad Bunny, Latin America made a great choice when they made him the biggest artist over there cause his much just decided to be amazing recently.. one of the best pop stars currently working overall and i rlly hope he crosses over more in America. maybe we can trade some of Drake's fame over here for Bad Bunny and vice versa lol

^^Amazing graph, thank you! It's interesting because in the UK the sales units were actually up by almost 8% week-on-week but maybe the listening habits are a bit different OR they are ahead with dealing with the pandemic. I wish we received cumulative streams by country. I wonder if ppl have gravitated to catalog music = comfort music. I'd rather listen to my old favorites, which make me think of better times than anything that reminds me of the present. Plus, any 'new' song I listen to now, I will automatically skip in the future because it will remind me of forced lockdowns, getting asked for papers for simply being outside, empty food shelves, etc. Whoa, where do you live that you have to show papers?

Hopefully, the new TOP single will keep up with high streams. Itβs probably just a Run situation where thereβs slightly more hype on the second day

Romeo Santos was huge in South America in the 00's with Aventura, and then he did that comeback single "Propuesta Indecente" in 2013 and was a massive hit, but yes, now he's a little bit outdated and forggoten. About Bad Bunny, nobody is more famous than him in South America (J Balvin is a close second), he literally murdered the Spotify charts with his new album, the entire top 15 in my country was Bad Bunny that week, and also did the same in countries like Argentina. And now, 2 weeks later, he still have the top 2 songs in Argentina, 6 songs in the top 10 Chile, 5 songs in the top 10 Peru, 4 songs in the top 10 Ecuador, 3 songs in Paraguay... you can hear Bad Bunny songs everywhere and everyone and their granmothers knows who is him. And of course, a lot of people hate him too, reggaeton haters, but they know him. J Balvin is massive as well, they both are killings the charts, and its super cool to see them getting exposure outside ! and they are really good friends. They both are carrying the reggaeton industry now following the steps of the king of the genre, Daddy Yankee. About Maluma, well he didn't have a hit from a long time. but he have a really BIG fanbase, he's a really good looking guy and very active in social media. The entertaiment industry and gossip web sites loves him so he wont be outside the spotlight for a long time. He still need his crossover hit. What charts do you look at for South America, besides Spotify? I usually go with the Monitor Latino and National Report ones due to the (rather) limited streaming service usage down there, with YouTube being the big exception ofc. Well just Spotify, but to be fair, besides YouTube thats the biggest streaming service and is increasing really fast, and i've never met someone who use Apple Music (??). Also, there's a BIG PERCENTAGE of people using ilegal spotify premium accounts.

Bad Bunny's latest album YHLQMDLG is fire! He's smashing through Latin America and even did well in North America. He made headlines everywhere with his latest video Yo Perreo Sola , see for yourself why lol Stream Safaera and Si Veo a Tu MamΓ‘ <3

Anyway, I noticed the profile pic, are you Chilean?

If he released the album one day early... Although tbh, I don't think his team expected it to do as well as it did in the US.

Anyway, I noticed the profile pic, are you Chilean? Yes from Santiago, Chile, called the "Spotify's streaming capital of Reggaeton " according to the same Spotify on their website. " (...) but with over 400 million plays per month, Santiago, Chile is the indisputable capital of reggaetΓ³n streaming. Twice as many reggaetΓ³n songs are played in Santiago as the second city on the list, Mexico City (even though the Mexican capital has a population nearly double the size of its Chilean counterpart)" " Of all the reggaetΓ³n streams in the world, the people of Santiago are responsible for 10% of them...". Source: newsroom.spotify.com/2019-10-16/santiago-spotifys-streaming-capital-of-reggaeton/I love reggaeton (Safaera is my currently favorite song), but unlike my fellow chileans, I also love to hear music from differents genres and languages. Thats why Im here, searching what is popular around the world, finding good songs and then sharing them with my friends.

This isn't related to the charts but did this song chart anywhere (Alternative, Bubbling Under, etc.)? I only just found this song thanks to TikTok but apparently EDEN has amassed a cult following because he has several songs with 80+ million streams on Spotify. It reminds me of a lot of white boy artists like LANY.

That ILY is a perfect TikTok hit, wonder if it carries on to charts though because the song is basically nothing else than a lazy chill-EDM cover of Can't Take My Eyes Off of You.

If "Level Of Concern" manages to rise/debut above #50 this week, we might finally be getting a new #1 song on the Hot Rock Songs chart. Turns out I underestimated the power of Twenty One Pilots after their relative underperformance post-2016.

"Another One Bites The Dust" was released first though... π€

It's a $999 fine/misdemeanor. They stopped more than 6000 people the previous week because they were out. And it's a blue mayor in a blue state. Go figure. For future H100s, I'm curious when the music pipeline starts to dry up. I wonder if labels will start going deeper in albums or even revisiting projects that could've had more singles. There's only so much recording that can be done under the lockdowns and it doesn't look like it's going be lifted for several weeks.
