This is a tournament idea I started working when I was doing the Top Hot 100 Songwriters of All Time list. The songwriters for the top 5 songs from each round get to advance a new song to the next round. Round 3's top 5 were Carole King, Madonna & Patrick Leonard, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd and Stevie Wonder, so they all have songs entered into round 4. Songwriters that fail to make the top 5 will eventually get a second chance but not until at least a few rounds later. That's why Hey Jude is in there - Blackbird placed at #6 in round 1, so since McCartney-Lennon fell just short of the top 5 then, they didn't advance a song into round 2 or round 3, but they're now getting a second chance three rounds later. ROUND 4 - Due April 28, 2020, 6pm EST Rank these songs 1 to 20 from best to worst and PM me the list. Always Be My Baby - Mariah Carey (writers: Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Manuel Seal) Another Brick In The Wall, Pt. 2 - Pink Floyd (writers: Roger Waters) Back To December - Taylor Swift (writers: Taylor Swift) Doctor My Eyes - Jackson Browne (writers: Jackson Browne) Flamenco Sketches - Miles Davis (writers: Miles Davis) Heart-Shaped Box - Nirvana (writers: Kurt Cobain) Hey, Good Lookin' - Hank Williams & The Drifting Cowboys (writers: Hank Williams) Hey Jude - The Beatles (writers: Paul McCartney, John Lennon) Jailhouse Rock - Elvis Presley (writers: Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller) La Isla Bonita - Madonna (writers: Madonna, Patrick Leonard, Bruce Gaitsch) Love Me Or Leave Me - Nina Simone (writers: Gus Kahn, Walter Donaldson) Mrs. Officer - Lil Wayne feat. Bobby V & Kidd Kidd (writers: Lil Wayne, Kidd Kidd, Bobby V, Darius Harrison) Raspberry Beret - Prince (writers: Prince) Say It Right - Nelly Furtado (writers: Nelly Furtado, Timbaland, Danja) Secrets - OneRepublic (writers: Ryan Tedder) Take Me To The River - Al Green (writers: Al Green, Mabon Hodges) The Spirit Of Radio - Rush (writers: Neil Peart, Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee) The Way You Make Me Feel - Michael Jackson (writers: Michael Jackson) Uptight (Everything's Alright) - Stevie Wonder (writers: Stevie Wonder, Sylvia Moy, Henry Cosby) Will You Love Me Tomorrow - The Shirelles (writers: Carole King, Gerry Goffin) Round 4 Spotify PlaylistPast RoundsRound 1 Round 2 Round 3

As usual, if you prefer a different version of a song here, you can use that to rank. I only included what I thought were the most well-known recordings as the default.
Love Me Or Leave Me has several recordings, including two by Nina Simone (one on Little Girl Blue from 1958, another from Let It All Out from 1966), the original recording by Ruth Etting from 1928, and three recordings from 1955, one by Sammy Davis Jr., one by Lena Horne and one by Doris Day.
Take Me To The River has a popular cover by Talking Heads.
Carole King made her own recording of the song a decade later for Tapestry.

Way better songs this time. Mrs Officer will probably be last although IMO it doesn’t deserve to be.

About to start reveals (in an hour or so). Which song do you think will win? Which will be eliminated first? There's a song that will have a significantly higher SD than any other. There's also a different song that made the top 5 that was somewhat of a dark horse. Anyone think they know which those are?

This stuck out like a turd in the middle of a haystack. I picked him because he's one of the rappers with the most hits but idk if he has any songs that would've done significantly better.

Idk if it's just me but "A Milli" is miles better than "Mrs. Officer" - I don't think it would've fared any better but maybe I would've placed it higher than where I put "Mrs. Officer" which is right at the bottom.

OT: I like “Mrs. Officer” and still remember when it was released. It was definitely an easy, lower top ten rank for me.

A Milli and 6F7F were the songs I had marked out as his top 2 (since I generally try to exclude the top 2 from each songwriter as I said before).
I suppose I can go with Uproar or Mona Lisa if there's ever a next time.
