^She officially sold 36 million singles right before MLWSWY. Actually she's sold over 50 million singles WW by now. 4 of the 5 Breakaway singles, MLWSWY and Stronger were massive! When you stop and think about it, Kelly has had some massively successful singles. Miss Independent, Breakaway, Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Because of You, My Life Would Suck Without You, Stronger were all mega hits. A Moment Like This, Walk Away, Already Gone, Don't You Wanna Stay, Mr. Know It All, Catch My Breath and Piece by Piece all did really really well too. On the surface of things, songs like Never Again, Dark Side, Heartbeat Song, Underneath the Tree and even Love So Soft did less well but I would still say those songs didn't go totally unnoticed. "Heartbeat Song" was playing on the radio at work the other day (like 2-3 weeks ago) and my boss was singing along to it. I don't think she's a huge huge Kelly fan, given I told her I went to a Kelly concert a while back and she didn't say much about it. Kelly's had a pretty good music career. I'm excited to see where her TV career takes her.

Sorry for not being clear, my number was in reference to US sales I don’t usually follow worldwide sales Oh okay you were referring to the RIAA sheet! Her US singles sales stood at 35 million+ as of fall 2017: www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7957889/ask-billboard-kelly-clarksons-career-sales-wild-thoughts-about#:~:text=Clarkson's%20career%20U.S.%20album%20sales,Carrie%20Underwood%20leads%20with%2016%2C389%2C000.&text=Clarkson%20has%20sold%2035%2C173%2C000%20song%20downloads. Somehow the link works. Don't me. The total number consists of pure sales + downloads.

am I only one who feels that in the long run and years since that ALREADY GONE has eclipsed MLWSWY? I know MLWSWY went to #1 on hot 100. But Already Gone was a beast at HOT AC/AC and big on CHR too. Between Sirius XM stations and my local AC/HOT stations...i still here AG but I can't recall the last time I heard MLWSWY. AG (the regular studio version) is a masterpiece!
Also I'm new and Kelly is one of my TOPS.
Some of my favorites are What's up Lonely?, Anytime, BTHE, WALK AWAY (possible favorite), Haunted, Already Gone, Can We Go Back, In The Blue (maybe Kelly's best IMO), NOSTALGIC, MKIA, THE SUN WILL RISE, CRUEL, SLOW DANCE, MEDICINE.
AND SO MANY OF those leaked demos!!

AIEW is such a good album. Also, that is a stacked list of favorites. We have a lot of overlapping favorite songs of hers!

You are so right about AG. Honestly I think Kelly made it a bigger deal than it needed to be. The instrumental (the drum beat, I guess you would say) was of course the same but HALO and AG sound totally different besides that. AG feels like an entire orchestra is playing vs Halo which is more piano. And of course the melodies are nothing alike. So many songs have the same beat, I don't think it would have even been a story had Kelly not made it one (this is all just my opinion).
I'm with you. That Kelly needs to get AG back into her setlist for Vegas and I want the grand AG performance the song deserves bc it's a masterpiece!
AG won out in the end. I think Tedder even said he liked AG more and I still hear AG and not so much Halo, which makes sense bc AG spent like 2 months at #1 on HAC and charted top 5 on her other formats.

She doesn't put AG in the big tour setlists, but it's in all the setlists for the one-offs she plays.

I’ve always thought the AG/Halo “controversy” was blown out of proportion. I get why Kelly was annoyed but I think she actually made it worse.

I remember their being lots of chatter on the internet about Already Gone ripping off Halo. One reason I love Kelly is that she puts her integrity above chart position.

Remember when she released some super high quality live versions of a few songs when the album came out? Maybe this was recorded? Can’t remember if a video was released but I always wondered if they recorded more songs from the album that were never released.

I don't think that clip is from those sessions. It sounds like the studio vocal against a piano track. That admittedly is probably one of my least played from MOL, so I don't know the vocal as well as I should - but it does not sound live to me.
However, I too wish we had more tracks from those Nashville sessions. She was on fire that day.

What's annoying is that they locked 3 other tracks from that away in the vault. Slow Dance, Didn't I and Medicine. This is a picture of the setlist that was posted in one of the photos on her website from that session. Attachment Deleted

Medicine is SO good. So disappointed they dropped it as a single. She was able to make “Take You High” work live, they could have figured something out I’m sure.

Although this was probably one of the easiest covers to tackle, the nuances in her voice nicely illustrate her unique, rich, and emotion-packed vocal tone. Although we have known for nearly 2 decades that she is the true vocal chameleon in the music industry, I still tip my hat in amazement every time she successfully takes on a different type of song.

Still love Kelly so much, and hope she gets through this tough time! Hopefully when she comes out of the storm she will be happier and stronger than ever.
Would love to see a rock album from her again, and though I don't wish her ANY pain maybe she can use this as musical fuel.

Ya know, I'm kind of surprised she/her team hasn't released some sort of statement at this point. It's been a few weeks now since the divorce came out.

Ya know, I'm kind of surprised she/her team hasn't released some sort of statement at this point. It's been a few weeks now since the divorce came out. I'm a little bit surprised about it too because she's been mostly open about their relationship and they sort of became one of her "things" in press, music and whatnot, especially in the last couple years. It's one of the bigger and surprising splits of the year, I thought for sure we'd get one of the standard pr statements by now. By no means are they required to put anything out, it's just surprising because that's not normal operating procedure. I'm sure she'll talk about it when she's ready to, whenever that will be. Anybody gone back and listened to MOL with slightly different ears? I remember thinking when it came out that the overall subject matter wasn't what I was expecting, I was expecting a more happier tone to it and it wasn't. There was a lot of relationship frustrations to much of it. I know not everything was necessarily about her/them, but it still has me going hmmm on a lot of it. But she didn't write a lot of it!! Sure, but she was very involved in the making of the songs that she didn't write and the themes they were going after.

^I get it, but 2017 Kelly was the happiest Kelly we've ever got to see. She is simply not the most skilled writer when it comes to happy songs nor does she accept the best written happy songs.
I can imagine that her working non-stop changed the dynamic of their relationship completely and either something happened out of that frustration or they simply grew apart. I admire her for setting an(other) example for others by ending a relationship that doesn't work. I just hope that she can clearly differenciate between her situation and the one of her parents.
I also hope she is otherwise truly happy and has no hesitation saying no the The Voice or her show when things start to overwhelm her. A part of me thinks that she's become a fan of this easily earned money after only being paid percentages for years. Maybe she/her lifestyle is not as low-key as she used to be. We'll see. Or hear. Or not.
