Praying that Confident cover means POPELLY is about to jump back out. I need more! That cover just proves why I fell in love with her voice. She took a pop track that I personally find decent but forgettable and added soul and depth. There is a little husky or rasp in her voice here that melts me. I love a bitch with a rasp vocal adds grit. Basically that's not a POP voice. She can do it and has done it well but her voice cant be constrained by pop 2020 songs. |

Wrapped in Red has definitely become my favorite holiday song of all time. More than UTT. Mariah's Miss You Most at Christmas Time comes close however.

As a lawyer, I'm shook anyone allowed her to have an oral agreement for something as critical to her career as the commission rates owed to management. Going to be messssssy.
Love the idea of her being managed by a major talent agency though. Although FWIW, clearly Blackstock did a great job since she's currently as successful as ever.

^My thoughts exactly. A verbal agreement over the phone, for something as monstrous as management and handling aspects of her entire career? That’s...not something that just gets OK’d on a call. They’re being shady.
Blackstock being removed as an EP on the talk show shows just how rough this may get. Severing finances in any business dealing is a shitshow in and of itself; add in a divorce and a prenup, and whew...that’s a whirlwind.
Fingers crossed for her. She already dealt with years of personal and professional hardships from Clive Davis; she can handle this, too.

The Blast was the first to report it nearly an hour before the other trades did. They were also the first to report the divorce, albeit a week after it was filed. They obviously have someone on the inside feeding them info in the LA courts. After what went down with Reba and Starstruck and losing that financial stream 5 years ago, it seems especially stupid on Narvel's part that they didn't get their agreement with Kelly put into some kind of writing. It should have happened immediately when business and pleasure started mixing. When Brandon responded to the divorce and agreed on everything except spousal support for him, I had a feeling that had to do with their business dealings because they were so intertwined with him getting percentages of everything she was doing and the additional EP credit on the show (that was in place until the new season started). He's going to be taking a big financial hit on this. fwiw, after talking with someone that's been in the management business, they were saying with smaller acts, verbal agreements aren't as uncommon as you'd think. But with people at Kelly's caliber, then and now, when working with millions, it's pretty dumb to not have something in writing. |
