Any chance Carrie could be a guest on her show to promote her Christmas album or have they already recorded episodes that will air at the end of the year? Unsure how that works but would love to see/hear them together. Normally talk shows film near when someone has to promote something so it's possible she'll be on coming this Christmas time. The filming for TKCS is all over the place. For instance, there are still unaired episodes from the 2nd week of filming in early September, yet Matthew McConaughey's episode aired yesterday and was filmed last Thursday. Carrie was supposed to be taping a show to promote her book the week everything shut down in back March so I would think they would be open to getting her back on the show again for the Christmas album. On the talk of Christmas shows on NBC, while not a Kelly focused one, I've heard from a couple people and have seen some others mention it on twitter that The Voice might be putting a Christmas special this year. I guess the warm up guy mentioned it at one of the tapings for one of the rounds this season. Btw, season 20 blinds start filming on Sunday already.

Mike they haven't yet but going by TKCS filming, they left those dates (25-28) open so I think it's easy to assume she'll be back. I really don't see her leaving it anytime soon. Her and Blake are there to the end, imo.

I'm inclined to think the same. As long as she's under a deal at NBC she will be in that chair.
Here are next week's covers!
Monday: "Cryin'" Aerosmith Tuesday: "Whataya Want From Me" Adam Lambert Wednesday: "Don't Take The Money" Bleachers Thursday: "What's Up?" 4 Non Blondes Friday: "Stayin' Alive" The Bee Gees

I’m excited to hear her do Cryin again. I still remember her doing that on Divas and thinking she wasn’t quite at her best and hoping to hear it again.

Cannot WAIT for her "What's Up" cover, I've been wanting that one from her forever.
Excited for new Christmas music because she just always aces it there, but my personal priority/preference would be that "Underneath the Tree" continues its upward trajectory in the holiday canon.

Looks like Jesse Shatkin produced it. This was on Kelly's A&R person (Carrie West) at Atlantic's ig story. Attachment Deletedeta - From Ashley Arrison's ig story, this is an Aben co-write and he also co-produced it.

Excited for new Christmas music because she just always aces it there, but my personal priority/preference would be that "Underneath the Tree" continues its upward trajectory in the holiday canon. I think this is as much 1) Kelly loves writing and releasing Christmas music 2) Atlantic want to make something seasonal catch fire too as they don't benefit from Wrapped In Red and what looks to may well become the new Christmas classic, after All I Want For Christmas. These things take so long to happen (years) though, so I don't thing any Underneath The Tree trajectory is going to be hampered by anything released in the meantime - since it's not quite like the game of shuffle board that regular Pop singles can be. I do agree though that she needs to lean and put all her resources in fostering and bolstering Underneath The Tree though, label be damned. That one is on a rocket ride, whether she assists or not, but why not assist.

^ Atlantic benefits indirectly tho! Kelly will be relevant for every coming christmas season -> worldwide!! Streaming did wonders for UTT.
I wish that momentum would be used for a K8 single release, but the album doesn't seem to be ready for that.

She's going to slay Whataya Want From Me
Still in awe we get 5 high quality covers from her almost every week.

10/28 - "Under The Mistletoe" (feat. Brett Eldredge) 11/13 - "All I Want For Christmas Is You" "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is, indeed, a cover of the Vince Vance & The Valiants song, not Mariah's!

Kelly trolling us all. I don’t mind too much though, I was thinking of songs I’d like for her to record when (not if!) she makes another Christmas album and that was one of the songs I had thought of. UTT has the same vibe as Mariah’s anyway so it’s not like there’s a void for that sort of song in her Christmas offerings.

She absolutely ATE that cover. I love hearing her range intact but the depth and fullness of her voice (on the higher & lower ends) really fleshed out. Hope the next record captures all of that.

this is good but feels too much like a rehash of "Underneath the Tree," which I'd be ok with but there's also a man on it. looks like I'll stick to "Underneath the Tree" but good for them. oops.

It's solid! I'd say out of the three songs she's done in this precise lane (Underneath The Tree, Christmas Eve and now this) this is the weakest. That said, in that last minute she's belting high on the lead vocal as consistently as I've heard on one of her records maybe ever, or certainly amongst which is nice to hear this far into her career.

It’s definitely in the vein of UTT but this is a jam as well and I loved it on first listen. It comes across as a song that would fit it on pop with re-written lyrics and a different feature.

I guess that lyric video wasn't supposed to be released today. Now it's taken down.
