Please let it be a sign of new music finally coming, but it's probably nothing to be excited about just yet.
That title intrigues me, it might go one of two ways: either "I'm trying to work things out but my husband couldn't care less" kinda thing (which I would love) or an I Dare You like "It's important that we all love each other no matter what everyone says".

Looks both of those guys are Nashville/country songwriters. The latter (Joshua Miller) co-wrote "Southbound" by Carrie Underwood and "Meant to Be" by Bebe Rexha/FGL.

Josh Gabbard goes by "Gatsby" and his website promotes him as Pop/R&B, which makes me happier than a country direction.

So hard to speculate what the new album will sound like. I'm always so skeptical of Kelly's own descriptions of her albums (especially years out from the release), but I have to assume the album that was described as "if MOL, Breakaway and Stronger had a baby" is either scrapped or transformed by her personal circumstances. I also? am just guessing that the R&B-lite of MOL is unlikely to be the direction of this record. In my dream world, it's singer/songwriter (Patty Griffin meets Adele meets Alanis or something) with the soulful spin Kelly brings to everything she touches.
On a bit of a different note, I'm curious if leaving both Starstruck and Nashville will have consequences for the country project she has been talking about for years. She will always be a welcome guest to the genre (given her fanbase, imo) and she is vocally/artistically very well suited for it, but just something I've been thinking about.

I think the MOL/Breakaway/Stronger album was pre-divorce and is probably all but scrapped. And if "I Dare You" was any indication, praise be. I have also always assumed, without much evidence, that her push for the country project was a total RCA era thing. I think she saw herself having a bit more artistic freedom on that album, or at least be able to do some more writing and sneak some bluesy/soulful stuff in there that would be more palatable for RCA in a country direction than her pop stuff. Once she changed labels, the need for that seems sort of obsolete. But maybe that's wishful thinking because I'm just not a country music fan lol. Her voice suits it though so I'm sure I'd love a country album from her, but I'm just meh on the genre personally.

Her voice suits it though so I'm sure I'd love a country album from her, but I'm just meh on the genre personally. She made a point of saying that one of the reasons she signed with Atlantic/Warner is because they have a strong country label and were ok with her making a country album in the future. She also said that John Esposito, the CEO of Warner Nashville, was instrumental in getting the deal done with her. So I think it's wishful thinking on your part, but I also don't think it's happening in the very near future. "It Matters To Me" was registered back in 2017, a few months before the MOL era began. I'm not sure why it's suddenly being talked about again, but it is a title we already knew about. For reference: hiddenjams.com/2017/05/01/kelly-clarkson-it-matters-to-me-bmi/- And yes, it seems the Breakaway/Stronger/MOL love-child album was scrapped. The way she's talking about the album now is nothing along the lines of what she was saying back in 2018 and 2019. Personally, I have wanted her to followup MOL with a record that goes even more strongly into the sound and style of that record, but I am really excited to see what she has for us on the new album regardless. I think it very well may be her best yet just because her best songs are always the ones she has a hand in writing.

LOVED that.
I think today might have been the season finale? It does not appear that she has any new episodes in the next two weeks.

Was rewatching some of my favorite Kellyokes and am super annoyed that I can't find "A Broken Wing" anywhere. It's one of the few Martina McBride songs I genuinely like and her vocals on that are just so damn powerful and clear and perfect. hmph.

dbhmr A video of it should be up on youtube now, if you want to watch it that way. I was going to post this yesterday but I didn't want to get ahead of myself before there was more evidence of it. Things are really starting to get back to normalish ways, Kelly has a private gig either tonight or tomorrow some time over the next week in Orlando. The band has all assembled. I still haven't nailed down what it's for just yet.

Listening to some past kellyoke performances and constantly astounded by Kelly's ability to emote - truly incredible. Just pure connection.
A personal fav:
