Oh, I didn't know Hot 100 performances were included
I wanted to hate this more, but I couldn't. It's at least better than the two singles on the year IBTFY was, though it is not saying much

Today's first extra likely would've contended for a spot in the top 10 after its strong #18 performance in the Modern Rock rankdown EXTRA

Alright now we're starting with the songs that are just there.
80. Too Much Ain't Enough Love---This was perfectly fine. Also, I somehow noted the vocals were solid and just OK at the same time. Looking at my score, I'm more inclined to agree with the former.
79. Powerful Stuff---Honestly, I thought this might be one of the first two top half songs off the board first. But it felt like the Fabulous T-Birds were in fine form here.
78. I Love the Things You Do to Me---Didn't love the vocals. Luckily the other parts of the song kept me going. No complaints about its finish.
77. Wait---The vocals from White Lion paled in comparison to the rockin'. But still, it was a solid song.
76. Can't Get Over You---I may not be a fan of Gregg Allman? We'll find out more as we go down the years, but it's one of those "I'll take the instrumental over the sung version" songs.
75. Save Your Love---This was a solid tune.
74. Slow Turning---No idea I'd be high score for this one. But it was a pretty strong tune.
73. Devil's Radio---Wanted to like this more, but the way the song ended made me go with his other tune as the higher ranked one.
72. Bad Medicine---Yeah, I like Bon Jovi. So what of it?
71. Darlin' Danielle Don't---The chorus is a bit offputting, but everything else about it was well done. Hopefully we won't see his other tune for a while.
Extra:
Don't know if I'd be high ranker for Talkin' About a Revolution. But I did like it when I heard it. I don't think it'd make top 10 unless Doc changed his mind, though.

Comments on the 90-71 zone. It included my remaining clear bottom 10s except one: Slow turning (music, vocals were I ranked it at 97), Darlin’ Danielle don’t, Ten men workin’, It’s money that matters (all these quite meh and with either mediocre or annoying melody). A few songs in my 81-90 range: -Too much ain’t enough love (production sounded too AC and vocals were too rough for that sound) -Part of the machine (I wanted to like it, but it didn’t click and sounded a bit try too hard) -Wasting My Time (disappointed this was Jimmy Page; mediocre to me) And others in my 80-71 zone: -Wait (this didn’t connect with me; I wanted it to as it had the high energy 80s rock vibe, but it sounded a bit too fake, juvenile to me) -I'm Not Your Man (it was okay, catchy, nothing too bad but a bit average to me; surprised it was such a big hit that year) - powerful stuff (ídem) Around 45-70 zone: - save your love: good enough rock ballad - welcome me home: nice classic melody - magic touch: loved the vocals; the music was pretty slick, too, with some Styx influence, but it lacked bass) - born to be bad: I liked this (melody and sound) better than their other song; - can’t get over you: sounded like an early 80s highway rock tune —something I do like - superstitious: nice discovery that had a good 80s rock sound - I love the things you do to me: nice discovery with pleasant classic melody and music - red blue jeans: another nice discovery with a good highway rocker sound and that reminded me of stuff by Kenny Loggins or Bryan Adams; downloaded this one My biggest losses would’ve been: - Devil’s radio: this was a hit back home, following the success of Got my mind... it was a personal top 5 that still brings back good memories. I had this in a mixtape... and I remember trying to find the Cloud nine cassette with no luck. I liked all the singles I heard, including This is love. It was a bit too pop for this RD, but I still had it in my 30s. - Bad medicine: a big hit back home, and a personal top 3. Strong rocker that I still use. I would’ve likely ranked this in my 20s

what the hell happened this set? I know right? Members tanking Great White, White Lion and Bon Jovi. Simply Mind boggling wasn't it. 80. Too Much Ain't Enough Love - Jimmy BarnesPretty good for Miami Vice and Knight Rider series soundtracks, but doesn't really work for me. 79. Powerful Stuff - The Fabulous Thunderbirdsand finally the band themselves. A bunch of these other acts kinda sounded like them too. This sounds like part two of "Tuff Enuff" except that it's not as great. 78. I Love the Things You Do to Me - Balaam & the AngelI thought this song was really good. I wasn't aware of it back then, but sounded really 80's. Love the glam Metal wind in the hair effix they used in the video. 77. Wait - White LionOh you guys suck. I knew I would be the highest ranker, but the rest of you. Talk about echos in the canyon. No appreciation for danish Glam Metal. I actually considered the "white Rock" Metal bands more like AOR, because this had more of a Night Ranger vibe than a Ratt vibe, but I love AOR just the same. Good strong vocals, wonderful melodies and nice lyrics you could write to "the one that got away". #77 you guys are actually getting better at this. 76. Can't Get Over You - The Gregg Allman BandDidn't we just hear this song at #78? Anyway this is one of those Greg Allman Band songs I actually found rather endearing. I can imagine H uey Lewis singing this and me putting it in the top 30. 75. Save Your Love - Great WhiteSeriously? This is one of their best ballads ever. has that Scorpions Heavy Metal vibe all around. Now its my turn to ask? Did you guys even pay attention to the lyrics? "I wake from a dream And see you by my side How could I belong to someone else, When holdin' you feels so right?"That verse right there kinda reminds me of "Lips Of An Angel". When you are with one chick, but you know your heart belongs to another. I love these love torture ballads. 74. Slow Turning - John HiattGive this guy a glass of water for that frog. The song wasn't that good to begin with but those vocals. talk about the "Nails on the chalkboard" Give this to Mellencamp ace the banjos, and I would upgrade it properly. 73. Devil's Radio - George HarrisonA very cool first listen. Gave me Petty "I Won't Back Down " vibes. Simple, but catchy. 72. Bad Medicine - Bon JoviMan this RD is quickly going to hell. Such a badd ass Rock jam. This version omits that part where you think the song ends than Jon says "I gotta do this again" "one more time" and the intro kicks in one last time. Man I love that part. It hurt me to keep Bon Jovi out of the top, but he has much better jams coming up. I love this one don't get me wrong. I'll still be in that front row with all the blondes at the Bon Jovi concert. 71. Darlin' Danielle Don't - Henry Lee SummerI wanted to like this a lot more. I really did. It's really quite pleasant, but it also sorta sounded like watered down Foreigner. At we now know what happened to Michael Bolton's long lost wig.

EXTRAS:Talkin' Bout a Revolution - Tracy ChapmanMan this chick wanted to stick her nose in every format. House Lannister . No way on changing my mind for this song. If I tanked it on Poptart, and Alt I sure wouldn't know what to do with it on a Mainstream Rock chart. I might have even tried to pay my way out of ranking it. Maybe if it would have been a Beatles cover? but than maybe I just would have been pissed off even more. Bottom line. I don't like this vibe one bit. I Did It for Love - Night Ranger Night Ranger kinda lost it by this album. I didn't cahrt anything off it and this song started sounding like watered down Starship. I always preferred Blades vocals to Keagy anyway. Bottom line? This song belongs on a Mannequin II soundtrack. I like the cameos in the MV. Mogan Fairchild was a babe in her days. Loved her hair. The Road - The Kinks Fortunately this didn't sound too bad at all. Unfortunately I didn't know it existed back than. King of Emotion - Big Country Here is a song that I believe I still would have ended up ranking higher than all the Hair/Glam Metal haters, because its a jam I actually really enjoy. The chorus reminds me of Roman Holiday's One Foot Back In Your Door" Have Mercy - Richard Marx Richard Marx could rock when he wanted to. Great song. Much better than that "Hazard" crap he pulled on Poptart chart RD. I Don't Want to Live Without You - Foreigner This crap sounded nothing like "Heart Turns To Stone". Here is that watered carp I keep referring to. Where the hell was "Hot Blooded", "Cold As Ice" "Head Games". WTF was this cheese? Burning Like a Flame - Dokken Thanks for ending this set of extras with a rocking jam. It sounds like they were listening to White Lion" while writing this one. It's basically "Wait" with "Tell me" chorus. It seems that this was the winning style for Rock jams back then, and that's exactly why I love it, but Dokken could do way better with their own sound. here are the last set of extras from a couple nights ago. Once again I'm only bothering with songs I find at least one aspect endearing. Doctor Doctor - The RadiatorsSounds like this was the mainstream Rock hard-on sound. Funnily enough none of this was played on the hard rock stations I listened to. That being said I guess this was o.k.. A little overkill on the "Doctor Doctor" chorus, but the guitar works were just fine. Ya Ya - Steve MillerFor a guy who has been around since the 70's he could at least have gotten better with time. High Point "Abra Cadabra" low point everything after that. The one thing I kinda enjoyed were Steve Miller smooth vocal tones. This Is Love - George HarrisonI'm guessing this were songs left over from The Traveling Wilburys albums? The song's alright. I even hear some Jeff Lynn here. I still like "Devil's Radio" more, but I can enjoy this one just as well. I checked it out and sure enough co written, and backing vocals = Jeff Lynn. Jealous Guy - John Lennon & the Plastic Ono BandA re release of a song that sounds a bit like most Beatles songs John Wrote. All the sudden I found myself singing. "I Heard The News today oh boy". Nope Nothing bad about this song. Hippy Hippy Shake - The Georgia SatellitesI do not care for this band, but how much fun was that Chuck Berry like vibe? Gypsy Road - CinderellaOnce again this would be the best extra of the night for me. I love this one. Sounds a lot like Great White's "Once Bitten Twice Shy". never a dull moment when a Hair/Glam Jam was on the airwaves. i know some may not dig on Tom Keifer's vocals, but he had the tones for the genre. There is no way Michael Stipe or even my favorite Scott Weiland could have pulled this off.
