So the last album that has all its songs standing is I'm Comin' Over, which I wasn't expecting - I was totally thinking it would be Neon (I actually thought "I Can Take It From There" would be the iffy one but "You" ended up finishing below it) - how many more reveals can it last? Stay tuned!

"You" and "Aw Naw" are the only two songs in this rankdown that I genuinely just dislike. The melody of "You" is just so grating. It was his first true whiff for me as far as singles went among the initial string of hits he was racking up after breaking out.

Wowww, I'm shocked that "You're Gonna Love Me" is out so early, this one got done REALLY dirty! Excellent little country jam lol. The melody and instrumentation is so infectious.
The production on "Drowning" is horrendous and I still hate it, but I have chosen to overlook it because I was tired of disliking Chris's music and the melody itself is actually phenomenal. That said, put up against the rest of his singles, it was still gonna be lower for me.
"You" is super catchy as well and I love it, but it had no chance of making my top 10 lol.

"I'm Comin' Over" has a great melody but again, don't care for the beat or production. I still like the song itself ok, but would enjoy it way more otherwise.
Really, the only two songs on this list that I straight up dislike are "Losing Sleep" and "Hangin' On" with the latter being a thousand times worse, lol.

I remember Chris mentioning when he first walked into the building of his record label, he saw all these multi-platinum plaques hung up on the wall and he thought to himself "I'm gonna have one of these someday" - "I'm Comin' Over" was the song that did it; it was certified 2x platinum in April of 2018 and his only single that has been certified multi-platinum to date.

"I Can Take It from There" is the poor man's "Gettin' You Home." It's totally adequate on its own, but when you really listen to it and realize how similar it is to GYH, it just feels a bit meh by comparison. It's a little less egregious now that so much time has passed, but at the time it was released it wasn't as far removed from when GYH was a hit a few years earlier than the release of "Take It."

I don’t have a problem with anything in this top 10 except for “Who I Am With You.” That song is so boring and I don’t like the loud production either.
Everything else is good or great.

Just in time to clear your #20! #15: "You're Gonna Love Me" Album: Chris Young Points: 153 (12 points ahead of "Raised on Country", 24 points behind #14) Average Rank: 13.35 Standard Deviation: 4.158 Country Radio Peak (Billboard): #48
I think this song is severely underrated. A great tune, executed quite well. I should have put this in my Top 10.

Hmm I’m thinking “Lonely Eyes” next or maybe “Drinkin’ Me Lonely” since it wasn’t a hit and some don’t like the songs as much that they don’t know as well.

You're not alone in thinking that "Who I Am With You" doesn't belong in the top 10 because... I'm in that camp too. #10: "Who I Am With You" Album: A.M. Points: 213 (6 points ahead of "I Can Take It From There", 9 points behind #9) Average Rank: 10.35 Standard Deviation: 5.081 (5th highest) Country Radio Peak (Billboard): #2

“Who I Am With You” is another song that could’ve benefitted from more traditional production. The beginning of it is wonderful but that chorus is electric guitar-central...

Next up at #8 is the song with the highest standard deviation in this rankdown! Also, there's a 31 point difference between the #8 song and "Think of You" - the race for the top 8 was pretty much constant throughout the submission process.
The #8 song has 253 points while the #5 song has 265 points which means the #5-8 range were super close! The song kept flip flopping until the very end (and when I say the very end I mean VERY end).

"Who I Am With You" has a great melody, especially in the chorus, but I'm fine with it missing the top 10 obviously because it definitely is more on the basic and generic side, for Chris anyway lol
"Think of You" is great and deserved a top 10 placement, but I am glad it didn't make it much further than that lol.
Unpopular opinion but "Voices" should have missed the top 10. It's good, but has always been one of my least favorite Chris tunes.

I really enjoy “Drinkin’ Me Lonely”! Glad it made it in the top half of the rankdown. I think the other 3 songs that were super close are...”Lonely Eyes”, “Voices” and “Neon”.

When it first came out, I really only liked the falsetto part of "Drinkin' Me Lonely" but as time went on it absolutely became one of my FAVORITES from Chris! Such a haunting country melody, and Chris sang this to absolute perfection. Shame that a song like "Voices" was able to place higher than this.

Flopping as usual with your opinion on "Voices" lol Y'all really like that bland and generic melody? I get it's more traditional leaning bland than most of modern country, but it is nowhere near a standout in Chris's catalog to me lol. Must be the lyrics y'all love so.

So we just eliminated songs with the 5th highest, 4th highest, highest, and 2nd highest standard deviations in a row - those songs really got held back by the relatively polarizing ranks it got. The final song to miss the top 5 missed out by 3 points and only got tanked out of the top 5 at the last minute! And before LBTrocks asks it's NOT "Voices"
