1. I doubt it, it’s gaining but it’s VERY far behind Blinding Lights

Actually surprised I enjoyed Beyonce rapping, she actually had a good flow for once and it didn't seem like "Bey's first attempt at rapping". I can actually tolerate listening to Savage now.

What’s the strategy behind Meghan/Beyonce dropping it to YouTube on a Wednesday, but no other streaming platforms? I’m assuming this won’t be available until Friday then anywhere else?
Maybe the Wednesday YouTube preview will be just enough of a boost to land it in the top 10 on the Hot 100 this Monday? It will give Meghan her first top 10 hit before Beyonce is credited as a feature. Then the week after Beyonce will get a feat credit when it gets a full boost. And the boost is going to be huge I’m assuming, which means it will jump to #1.

I highly doubt Nicki will get credit on Say So. Remember the whole "The Hills" fiasco in 2015 when she didn't get credit and was denied a #1? Messy. Remember remixes need to get more points then the original for the featured artist to be credited.

Well, Billboard's overall decision for crediting remixes is whether they perceive it will be the most notable version of the song in the end.
Nicki's remix of The Hills was absolutely forgettable towards the overall song's success in the end. So maybe they will treat this similar. Then again, they are the same ones who credited Beyonce on Perfect & Mi Gente, despite the fact her remixes of both managed to fail to become the notable versions of the song.
I'd rather Billboard do an objective rule with remixes, amongst the lines of "if the remix contributes to a majority of the song's points for 3+ weeks then the remix is credited" or "if the remix begins to garner the majority of airplay it can be credited". The subjective referee judging they do with remixes is a mess too much of the time.

^If it's enough to push a song into the Top 10, they'll probably credit it the remix. It's most likely the reason Beyonce got credit for her Mi Gente remix: without her, it wouldn't have reached the Top 3. Whereas Say So is already a Top 10 hit so they don't need to credit Nicki.
Same reason they didn't need to credit the Bieber bad guy remix or the DaBaby Truth Hurts remix.

I think the only time a remix wasn't credited despite it being the more popular version was for I Took a Pill in Ibiza, since they never put 'SeeB Remix' in the title.

The Hot 100 is a weekly chart, if a remix is the most popular version of a song for a week, the featured artist(s) should be credited for that week, if it fails to remain the most popular version following that week their credit should be removed.

If the remix has more points than the original, it is credited. If it doesn't it isn't credited. |
