Day N Nite felt pretty big in 2009. I am surprised it managed to reach #3 though.
Was the remix or the original bigger in US? I only remember hearing the remix but the original is pretty wide known even more than the remix these days.

iHype. Didn’t even know there was a remix until looking it up! Never heard the crookers remix til now, I remember the original I guess this similar to Tove Lo’s “Habits” situation. The hippie sabotage remix blew up everywhere, but the original is what reached the top 3 stateside

^I remember listening the Hippie Sabotage remix months before I actually heard the original. Btw, the original is much better than the remix.

I'd say December/January is when the fewest hit songs are released. Funny, considering that's when you have the best shot at getting a high spot on the Year-End list. I agree that August-October is a bad time to release if you're not an A-lister, considering that your chart run could very well get caught in between two of Billboard's Dec-Nov chart years. But the those months ended up being a bit busier than usual, with Harry, Abel, Dua..all releasing hits that would later surge throughout the year, maybe that's the next big strategy

Even streaming-wise, Harry to a lesser degree. the year so far has still seen plenty of 2019 hits continuing to go at it. Wasn't Toosie the first new 2020 top10 since LIG?

I still see barely any radio for the scotts. What’s the percentage of it getting that #1?

I still see barely any radio for the scotts. What’s the percentage of it getting that #1? Given we only have 2 full days of data thus far, I’ll say 60-70% for the time being. Airplay, right now, is irrelevant, for the number one debut anyhow (not longevity). It’s current streams and sales alone is enough.

Kid Cudi’s “Day & Night” was rather close to number two/one on the Hot 100 that week in May ‘09 albeit “Boom Boom Pow” had the sales lead and “Poker Face” had the airplay lead.
Hot 100.
1) Boom Boom Pow 2) Poker Face 3) Day & Night
Downloads.
1) Boom Boom Pow: 226K 2) Poker Face: 198K 3) Day & Night: 192K
Airplay.
2) Poker Face: 115M AI 5) Boom Boom Pow: 103M AI 7) Day & Night: 94M AI
It was so interesting watching its rise and peak.
Ironically, “Day & Night” was blocked from #1 in the U.K for three weeks by Gaga’s “Just Dance” in January.

Basically all you need now for the number 1 is consistent dominant streams (and a bit of sales won’t hurt either). Airplay just feels like the cherry on top for your song just in case there’s another song competing for that #1

Airplay just feels like the cherry on top for your song just in case there’s another song competing for that #1 If your goal is just to hit #1 for a week and then drop from the top spot next week. That seems about right.

I find it kinda ironic that goosebumps has kind of eclipsed Antidote in terms of popularity. I mean on Spotify, it has twice as many streams as Antidote. Yeah, this blows my mind. Even songs that didn't feature in the Fortnite concert like Butterfly Effect was in the top 200 of Spotify. Did people forgot about Antidote? I remember it was pretty popular in my senior year.

Antidode was the marquee Travis Scott song until Sicko Mode came along.

I feel like I shouldn't be surprised considering he was such a big star before his passing and has had multiple successful posthumous songs by now but I'm very pleasantly surprised Righteous by Juice WRLD has held on so well, I was kind of expecting it to dip hard. They seem to be keeping his posthumous releases respectful so I hope this sticks around and does well it's really good

I think Uzi is just incapable of serving any longevity these days. Idk what it is about his output post LUV is Rage 2, but none of it has resonated well at all. It's a really bad sign when the highest song from the deluxe version of EA (a 32 track album) is the one that sounds almost exactly the same as XO Tour Life.

In comparison to most of the other Rappers that overthrow the charts upon release week before vanishing until their next album, I’d say he’s doing rather well. I wouldn’t expect major consistency from anyone with a 32-track or more album anyway, but at least it’s still #3 on the BB200.

Travis Scott is going to last a week damn If this went #1 it would be his 3rd number-one, and all of them only managed to get 1-week atop. This lead me to research: who is the artist with the highest amount of #1's who's ONLY has 1-week #1s? Eagles win with 5 #1's that all only spent 1-week atop each.
